Move here yet? It's a great city with good highway access and quite a few things to do. It is changing though as most cities do, some good some bad. I've lived here for more than 35yrs, minus a few years as a young man (college/travelling).
A little fun history many may or may not know.
Prior to 1990 downtown Mesquite was a HUGE weekend cruising/hangout spot. Both Galloway and Beltline from Whataburger (Kearney) to the new Firestation across from City Lake Park, maybe a little further. Used to get packed down there.
I believe it made on of the top 10 places to cruise.
It was shutdown due to hindering Fire/EMS and possibly the 1988 disappearence of two girls (Madison/Smalley) from Forest Lane (another cruise spot) in Dallas.
Or atleast that's what I heard.

No 1 ever looks at how many ppl have cancer or commit suicide in these geographical areas. Instead we focus on crime rates and it being "ghetto". Yet whats really a crime is the air, food and daily stressors that continue to kill ppl daily!. Also what about car wrecks? Those streets seem horrible; at least in this video they do.

This wasn't even all of Mesquite. You didn't show the Rodeo or the shopping district or even the newer parts in the southeast part of the city. Not all of the streets are that bad, but it will take the city some time and money to get them done.
