Wellington is a working pier so cruise ship passengers must take a free shuttle to/from the ship. Walking around the pier area is not allowed.
The free Shuttle stops at the “Old Government Buildings” just across from the Beehive Parlement building.
Things to do:
Walk to town for shopping and restaurants
Take the Cable Car
Hike the free Botanical Gardens
Visit Zoolandia
Visit the Ta Papa Museum
Visit Charles Plimmer Park lookout for 360 views of the area (requires a tour or car/taxi to access)
Visit local beaches
