Riu Chain of Hotels,Iberostar,Melia,Memories,Princess etc etc all have Buffets for all 3 meals daily...I was surprised for a travel channel to give a 3 out of 5 because they have buffet breakfast,lunch and dinner restaurants.Riu does not offer it but other chains offer an upgrade where you can have an A Lacarte breakfast Restaurant ,usually called “diamond” upgrade,that also includes Room service with an upgraded Pillow menu. Oh and btw,that upgrade also includes top shelf drinks and a premium lounge. Maybe try that upgrade and see if you like it better.

Yes i did go for hikes but not while we were at the resort. We were in Costa Rica for a week and ended our CR vacation at Riu. We went to La Fortuna and Monteverde. Visited the Cloud Forest, Arenal Volcano, zip line and waterfall. How will you be there Arman?

I would recommend getting into the rain forest for a hike. See all the wild life, get a tour guide - it;'s worth it. They will find you all the animals. Zip line and get into the ocean for sure!!@@Armmani2000

Thanks for the tips. I knew it was gonna be a budget trip - so I was ok with the food and drinks. We didn't do too much drinking.

Hi Lori - we used uber to get to our airbnb and then we ended up renting a car.
Do you need water shoes? I heard the water was very rocky

the rental was okay. I think the fees are expensive for the insurance bc of Costa Rica's policy.
I felt the review was too short and rushed...but you did give some good tips...I wished you were a little more detailed.
