I actually got to play Edgar's bass for a few minutes on a concert hall stage after a rehearsal. It was the most remarkable bass I've ever played. It had unbeleivable tone amd projection and was effortless to play.
Great interview, and what an interesting & knowledgeable bass maker. Quite apart from the bass itself, I just love the wonders of wood and can only imagine what it would be like to be in his shop...and how hair-raising it must be to shave the tone wood...!
