I got the 16pm just because my company was giving it for 400. Finally got a proper iPhone 1st time in life. Loved all Android phones from Samsung, xiaomi to oneplus flagships. Can't wait to see how Apple world has changed since last i used 1st gen iPhone se. 😂
I bought the 16 pro BECAUSE it’s kind of an S year upgrade. I don’t like jumping in on a new redesign cuz I feel like there are always issues to be ironed out the next year or two. They’ve been on this design for 4 years and have basically perfected it - except the camera control. But again. First gen tech. Needs improvement!
Love your videos Greg! One thing that's perhaps not obvious to you young people is that for someone like me, 67, where your eyesight starts failing, hands don't grip as well as they used, etc, etc, the bigger form-factor works well and the bigger screen is very helpful to read and view text and videos, so for me, I'm looking forward to getting the Pro Max next week. I also had a look at the 16 Plus in my local Apple Store but thought I might as well go the whole hog and get the bigger version as I intend to keep this phone for a good few years. Btw, my professional life is now in AI and data security so again, I think the Pro Max will be the better bet for me across several arenas :)
I have an iPhone 13(non pro) at 97 percent battery health, should I try out my first pro phone(I would get the 16 pro max), or wait at least another year?
I’d go with the 16 plus, the biggest difference for me regarding the two besides obviously battery life would be the 60hz vs 120hz display and I couldn’t go back to a 60 hz but going from the iPhone 11 60 hz would be just fine and I like the look of the 16 plus over the 3 camera setup
I’m upgrading from 13 pro max purely for the screen size , the screen looks a lot bigger with the combination of the slim bezel and the 2 mm upgrade on screen size,I use my phone to watch movies on the go in my job
What puts me off the case you are advocating is the lazy cutout for the camera button, that’s why I went with the apple case, they have a glass insert for that button, much cleaner looking and keeps it crap.
I’m so tired of people saying that the camera control button isn’t as fast as on screen. It’s not meant to be your controls. You put the most used control on there so you can fast switch. Not sit there and go through the damn menu. I put mine on the different types of photo styles. So I only use it to change of style real quick. iOS 18 has also only been out for a month lol. It will also work well with the AI function when it comes out.
I really like iOS 18.1 Beta 6 with Apple Intelligence. But I can’t wait for Apple to add Visual Intelligence to the Camera Control, two-stage shutter and tweak the zooming on the button!
Definitely not an S year. More RAM, next gen 3nm CPU, tougher Ceramic Shield, better cameras, camera control button, iOS 18 and Ai all add up for a major release model.
It feels like the same size 😭 bro I was crying about getting this phone for weeks and it didn’t feel as big as they advertised the camera button is only new feature
Well… I couldn’t care less about tech RUclipsrs being mixed or disappointed on the iPhone 16 Pro. Why? I’m coming from an IPhone X. Not upgrading every single year or even every two years changes your perspective quite a lot. As for the question on whether the Pro or even the Pro max is worth it, I’d say: It depends. I see good reason to go Pro for starters. And no, I’m not talking about the slightly faster GPU performance or the 120hz promotion display with always on features, Especially the are gimmicky to me, judging by having an iPhone 13 in my hands before. The additional GPU core is probably not being used that much either, if I had to guess, since I don’t use my smartphone to play games. The somewhat bigger display of the 16 Pro Max (at 6.9 Inches) vs. my current iPhone X (at 5.8 inches) is going to be nice to have, especially with my sight not getting better over time. But the real deal, that sells me on an iPhone Pro Max, as opposed to an iPhone Plus, especially considering the improved photo quality of iPhones in general, ever since my current iPhone X, is the availability of the RAW format on the Pro Line of iPhones. Even though I’m not much of a photographer, I saw the merits, of having RAW material at hand, just in case, I want something to look extra good, after tinkering with RAW Photos of a friend‘s iPhone 13 Pro. The post processing on the iPhone is okay for everyday use, but not as good, if you really want to make the most out of the cameras. That‘s why I wouldn’t want to miss out on that, when I’m post processing photos every now and then, especially, when I’m keeping the same smartphone for several years. And with 256GB of storage needed, to not fill up the iPhone by more than 50% most of the time, (I’m talking about preserving the lifetime of the iPhone’s flash storage here) the jump from the 16 Pro to the 16 Pro Max isn’t much of a premium anymore, as the Pro Max comes with 256GB by default, while the Pro starts at 128GB. The bigger Battery of the Pro Max is no joke either, especially towards the end of the life cycle of it, when the battery usage is going to be increased, with more and more features coming in over time, to especially the apps. With the knowledge of using the heck out of it, before getting a new one, it actually becomes more and more reasonable. AppleCare+ will take care of battery replacements and other needed repairs throughout. And if you ask me, how long I’m going to use it: In case, It wasn’t obvious by the fact, that I’m coming from an iPhone X: I’d say we talk about roughly 6 years. That being said, my iPhone X at this point is 8 years old. That is easily above my expected lifetime for that smartphone, but it still gets the job done. Also, guessing that Apple Intelligence is going to change the future of how the iPhone is going to be used within the next few years, and knowing how AI features already handle the post processing, that even happens on RAW photos, I’m actually glad, I waited this long. My iPhone 16 Pro Max is going to come within the next 3 weeks.
Actually 15 plus is best battery ,I never need power band with me last year but now sometimes I did need bring power band go out when I know I may used camera that day
I’m coming from an IPhone X. Not upgrading every single year or even every two years changes your perspective quite a lot. I would say, having a product, that doesn’t try to sell based on hyped new features, is a good thing. I seems to be a rather rounded product now, if you ignore the weird camera control thing, which luckily you can disable, if it causes any issues. And yes, I ignore the Apple Intelligence on this, as for one, it wasn‘t available at launch and also, because I don’t know yet, IF and HOW it will change MY everyday use over the years. As for the question on whether the Pro or even the Pro max is worth it, I’d say: It depends. I see good reason to go Pro for starters. But based on looking on the increase of AI Performance on iPhone chips over the years, I guess, that Apple Intelligence MIGHT change the future of how the iPhone is going to be used within the next few years, since it obviously wasn’t a rushed endeavor but rather has been prepared for years now. And knowing how AI features already handle the part of the post processing, that even happens on RAW photos, especially with the significantly increased quality and resolution of cameras in mind, I’m actually glad, I waited this long.
I wonder how the camera button came about. I’m sure Apple employees got to test it out in their daily lives before they decided if they should move forward with it. Didn’t they see what most if not all RUclipsrs and consumers are saying about it? Most people use it to launch the camera app, for camera controls they use the touchscreen because it’s faster and more user friendly. Maybe, just maybe it will make sense and be useful once visual intelligence comes out.
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention. Taking a pic next to the I Survived the Haunted Houses Wall where a light was on and it was pitch black out. The Camera couldn’t take a good pic with the light on or off. It was weird. But, that particular pic. Maybe a bug. It sucked.
being on an ultra 2 after 9 years of normal apple watch and the 16 pro max feels good... fast charging and durability... there's no way the onscreen is faster than camera control
Photo sensor so much larger 🤣🤣🤣🤣 not. I upgraded from 12 pm to 15 pro max last year and not upgrading this year to waste that much money for not really a much if an upgrade, I’ll wait and see what next years and so will bring.
Like your videos, but to me ..... the Max phone isn't that much bigger than the 15 Pro Max. The 6.9" measurement is diagonal, so not very noticeable in terms of height and width. Hold it up against the 15 Pro Max and it's just slightly taller. Like 0.20" maybe. A hyped feature that is really a minor change.
The display increase with the 16 Pro Max does make it less of a one handed device though for some of us. This is something many have commented on as well as Mark from Tom's Guide. I also find it noticeably more uncomfortable to use than the 15 Pro Max. Taller and wider. I have large hands and still find it more of a stretch and more cumbersome.
That big notch on the screen always puts me in two minds to switch over from Samsung. It really is right in your face literally whereas I hardly see disruption with my Samsung Ultra because it's just a small hole punch. I want to then I don't, I'm in two minds whether it's worth it.
Finally a video that actually talks about the upgrades the phone actually has vs following the crowd saying apple didn’t upgrade or it’s an S year upgrade. Coming from a 15 pro user who upgrades to a sixteen pro max. Screen size increase - not ground breaking but makes it more immersive. What are people wanting, 6.7 to now 20.3 😂? Faster processor Battery increase Ultra Wide upgrade from 12 to 48 megapixels Camera control Microphone improvement Increases screen brightness Faster wireless charging Granted AI is not here yet but apple should take its time to take sure it works before launching.
I love my iPhone 11 pro max and it is still great for me. Upgrading this iPhone 16 pro max is insane. But I will figure out iphone 17 pro max as my next phone.
They added a new button and that still doesn’t appease anyone. Y’all are never going to be happy with the look of an iPhone. Let them come out with an apple shaped iPhone. And y’all will complain. And Android will adopt the new current iPhone look. All android users will say the new Droid is awesome and sleek. Apple should’ve never changed. Apple changes back. Android users Gen CPThreeZero will never know this and Android will become Skynet and Apple the Umbrella Corporation. We all will loose.
I feel that the 16 pro max feels sluggish compared to the 15 pro max. iPhone 16 pro max lags a lot around the screen area where the camera control button is at. The Keyboard had a delay as well as latency. I am returning it and staying with my 15 pro max. I received the 16 pro max a few days ago from my original preorder, and man,it's so disappointing. Normally, iPhones come out flawless right out of the box, with bo issues. Every now and then, you have a few hiccups that get resolved over a software update. This year, a conplete disaster. The "camera control" is useless, pretty much a gimmick. In compariing the 15 pro max and 16 pro max, my 15 pm is far more responsive and super smooth, where the 16 pro max feels like an outdated android phone. So sad. But honestly, thinking of returning it and getting the Galaxy S24 Ultra Apple pretty much sold us an unfinished product 😡
It feels like Apple has lost its way a bit in the smartphone space. Innovation despite the exorbitant cost have kind of been relegated to sizing changes and minor camera upgrades every year. Long overdue for a form factor change.
Totally not worth the upgrade from a 15 pro max, i had the 16 pro max with the intention to sell my 15 pro max, but i returned the 16 pro max, its just the same phone!
Pretty average upgrade tbh. Makes sense if you come from an iphone 8 i guess. Apple just doing their mandatory updates (cpu, camera) and adding a useless button thats more intrusive and pointless to use. Ai features will come later but tbh are a little lame compared to googles and samsungs. Definitely keeping the superior s24 ultra until the s25 ultra comes out. As well as sticking to android for quite some considering how underwhelming ios is
at the beginning you saying your always going to need a case is such a lie you could have no case and drop it multiple times its not gonna break like before.. its actually good caseless
@@LouisLuzuka It’s not a huge difference, but the three main differences that I can tell are it’s definitely a bigger display which I love on the regular pro model and the battery life is also better, it’s also a lot lighter in weight.
I was wondering if I would like the camera button too. I have the 16 Pro Max and I’ve been going to a lot of Haunted Houses. And when it’s about to get dark. It has taken some really great pics I posted. My friend has a 16 Pro and she took a pic with the front facing camera. She was annoyed that the pic we took there’s a random guy not smiling but looking into the camera we cannot remove yet because Apple Intellect isn’t out yet. But I told her it should be here before Halloween. She likes the button. I like the button on the Max Pro. And I really thought I was going to be using it out of force, but I use it. The Action Button is new for me coming from a 14 Pro Max. I made that my translator for Spanish. And the previous Lock Screen camera. I don’t know what to make that yet. But the camera button is welcomed to me. I wish it was 3D Touch, but meh.
After 15 Years in the Android/Windows environment, I'm trying out an experiment to check the Apple ecosystem. I got myself a Mac, iPad, watch, and today iPhone 16 Pro. Will see how it goes so far I'm screaming on how strict and limiting IOS is, but I will stick to it for the next couple of months and see how it goes. My last iPhone was 3G so quite a long time ago after that I've moved to Android. Wish me luck - so far it is NOT great.
If you like the custom ability of android the Apple os is just never going to meet that custom ability it gives you what it has ultra refined why switch if you love that custom ability?

I got the 16pm just because my company was giving it for 400. Finally got a proper iPhone 1st time in life. Loved all Android phones from Samsung, xiaomi to oneplus flagships. Can't wait to see how Apple world has changed since last i used 1st gen iPhone se. 😂
😮
I bought the 16 pro BECAUSE it’s kind of an S year upgrade. I don’t like jumping in on a new redesign cuz I feel like there are always issues to be ironed out the next year or two. They’ve been on this design for 4 years and have basically perfected it - except the camera control. But again. First gen tech. Needs improvement!
these microphone updates apply also on call quality as well?
6:36 - Holding your phone this way is an invite for phone snatchers!
I don't use the camera button much but with my case its a good finger rest to hold the phone.
I got the 6.3 IPhone Pro. It’s the best size for my hand and I don’t use the whole battery daily anyways. I’m on my iPad Pro mostly.
I have an iPhone 13(non pro) at 97 percent battery health, should I try out my first pro phone(I would get the 16 pro max), or wait at least another year?
I have the iPhone 11 and been thinking of upgrading to either the 16 plus or the 16 pro
What puts me off the case you are advocating is the lazy cutout for the camera button, that’s why I went with the apple case, they have a glass insert for that button, much cleaner looking and keeps it crap.
phone overheats taking photos...
You can touch and tap that pop up dial after pressing camera control . Its easier.
I upgraded from the iPhone Pro Max and loving it comin go from the iPhone 14 Max
Have you tried shooting spatial video on the iPhone 16 for viewing on the Apple Vision Pro?
How do you get the Beta 6?
Definitely not an S year. More RAM, next gen 3nm CPU, tougher Ceramic Shield, better cameras, camera control button, iOS 18 and Ai all add up for a major release model.
Say it again for the people complaining who don’t even have it
In other words- get a 15p on Black Friday for half price.
Using the camera app is like wearing a new pair of shoes:They may feel uncomfortable but you still wear them cause they look good
It feels like the same size 😭 bro I was crying about getting this phone for weeks and it didn’t feel as big as they advertised the camera button is only new feature
Did you say cut out. I hate cases that’s being made with the cut out for the camera button I need full coverage
AI 16 pro vs 15 pro will be a very interesting video

Girl, who is reading all this? Lol
Not you, I’d guess. 😘
I’m still considering the 16 Pro Max despite its shortcomings
Great video
I don't feel a need to shift to iphone 16 pro or pro max !
Iphone 15 pro max is still working like a beast
16 pro max it best then your 15 pro max sorry…
I’m thinking of going to the 16 pro instead of the 15 pro max 😮
@@LouisLuzuka ofc u can go!
@@salvatorel.4041 indeed but I don't think according to my use that I need to change !

Because you are reviewer and have to say something, you made this video 🙂. Good entertaining video. Thanks.
Oh yeah. I forgot to mention. Taking a pic next to the I Survived the Haunted Houses Wall where a light was on and it was pitch black out. The Camera couldn’t take a good pic with the light on or off. It was weird. But, that particular pic. Maybe a bug. It sucked.
They should have stuck with 6.7” max screen size. 6.9” just seems a little too big.
being on an ultra 2 after 9 years of normal apple watch and the 16 pro max feels good... fast charging and durability... there's no way the onscreen is faster than camera control
what is that controller at 3:45?
I‘d also love to know
Photo sensor so much larger 🤣🤣🤣🤣 not. I upgraded from 12 pm to 15 pro max last year and not upgrading this year to waste that much money for not really a much if an upgrade, I’ll wait and see what next years and so will bring.
The battery is alittle off for me on this phone. It’s great on WiFi. 5g is killing it
Yes, I did a whole day in NYC and 5G drained it a lot quicker than being on WiFi.
@@GregsGadgets yeah I’m switching it down to lte

So indecisive if I want to upgrade my regular 15 for the 16 pro max… fuck so tempting 😩😩😩
It's like a riptide baby
Faster processor
Battery increase
Ultra Wide upgrade from 12 to 48 megapixels
Camera control
Microphone improvement
Increases screen brightness
Faster wireless charging
Granted AI is not here yet but apple should take its time to take sure it works before launching.
totally agree with you!
I love my iPhone 11 pro max and it is still great for me. Upgrading this iPhone 16 pro max is insane. But I will figure out iphone 17 pro max as my next phone.
Nice Video
Except it doesnt have a Taylor Swif autograph
I like everything about my iPhone 16 pro max dessert titanium gold
Another afternoon special
"Always need a good case" yeah says the people selling cases lol. I hate cases, never use them, and never damaged or broken a phone.
Not iPhone user but I'm just bothered with the battery is heating so much expecially with gaming - from the reviews
Main camera sensor is same size as iPhone 15 PM
This phone's screen killed my eyes. Unfortunately PWM is awful on it. Sticking with iphone 13 pro until Apple addresses this.
I’m growing my hair long too.
It feels like Apple has lost its way a bit in the smartphone space. Innovation despite the exorbitant cost have kind of been relegated to sizing changes and minor camera upgrades every year. Long overdue for a form factor change.
Does the iPhone 16 Pro Max shoot the best of all the phones on the market today?
I always love apple !! Software is the best
As well as sticking to android for quite some considering how underwhelming ios is
I love the S series
Upgrading from iPhone X to 16 PM
You will be dropped my friend 😁
at the beginning you saying your always going to need a case is such a lie you could have no case and drop it multiple times its not gonna break like before.. its actually good caseless
BOTTEM LINE; Can you trust Apple with AI…Their track record says no..I’ll be getting the 15..
Hey Greg

I do prefer the 16 pro size but the 15 pro max is cheaper 😂what do I do 😮
I would definitely go 16 Pro and not the 15 PM. The size of the 16 Pro is perfect! I love mine so far.
@@r.m.s.605 🤯did you upgrade from 15 pro max
@@LouisLuzuka I had the 14 Pro in purple, not the max.
@@r.m.s.605 ooo is it a big difference what color u got now
@@LouisLuzuka It’s not a huge difference, but the three main differences that I can tell are it’s definitely a bigger display which I love on the regular pro model and the battery life is also better, it’s also a lot lighter in weight.
The Iphone 16 Pro is so boring I am ice cold about it! I am surprised it is even being reviewed.
Another year, another mediocre iPhone update. Stickin with the 13 again I guess
13 pro Here.
So why post if you can't make up your mind ?
16 pro max in case like tablet... it is too big...
Best waiting for the iPhone 17 when maybe Apple will have its AI features released!

Can you tell where did you find strict on iphone , this is old information . give some examples please
If you like the custom ability of android the Apple os is just never going to meet that custom ability it gives you what it has ultra refined why switch if you love that custom ability?
@@takdona example download any files including audio and open directly on the phone after downloading. My images are messed up . I own large music colllection and forgot how horrible iTunes/apple music is. Yes I don’t use Spotify or Apple Music. I’m tired of subscriptions. And few other things here or there. No unified location for back. On some apps you can swipe from the left, on others you have back or x in different corners of the now and so often.
