  • Here we have the original first single Pentagram "released" 200 copies of back in 1973. The mixes and the take of Earth Flight are clearly different than what appeared on the First Days Here compilation so many years later. A super cool and super rare record from such an amazing band!! A comment on Discogs from Outlaw Recordings below provides some background to this raging slab of historic awesomeness..
Here's a little information I got straight from Skip Groff, who was involved in managing the band at the time of these releases, recorded them, and had the first two PENTAGRAM singles pressed.
"There were only 100 test pressings made of the "Under My Thumb" single, then I had rubber stamps made to print the info on the label. My x-wife was a GEMINI, that's why that designation is on the label.
As far as the earlier 45, EARTH FLIGHT/HURRICANE on Boffo Socko...there were 200 pressed of those, I used 100 for the band and to send to stations & record companies, and gave the other 100, foolishly, to a company in Baltimore to distribute for sale to DC/Baltimore stores. I never saw a penny for those; or ever saw the records again!!
I know we did acetates for "UNDER MY THUMB" and "EARTH FLIGHT", I don't believe we did one for the original 5 song BIAS STUDIOS session (note: all of those songs are on the "First Daze Here Too"), but's possible I did and sent them out to record companies."
