    I am sooo happy to hear that I don’t need to list 10 everyday 😭 the “ more listing equals more sale” is too much pressure for me that I’m just creating not so good design just to list.

    I 100% believe that social media marketing is pretty much vital these days, I just struggle with coming up with what to post. I don't want just a page of all products, that's tacky and surely wouldn't grow a following that I know of lol I know how to post and understand the themes and ideas, but making something that's practical is a challenge for me. That'll teach me to be an introvert for so many years lol

      I also struggle with social media because of being a huge introvert. CHATGPT and setting up a monthly social media calendar has helped me post daily for almost a year now. It’s getting a little easier but it’s still my most hated part of my biz :) Worth trying tho!

    Thanks Starla & Marc, you two really know your stuff! I thoroughly enjoy your very informative videos and thank you for bringing us all the updates. I haven’t opened my Etsy shop yet but I’m getting there…I think!!
    After watching this video, and being Irish I thought I’d add this little bit of info.
    I believe the rise in Witch searches in February is down to “The Witches of Islandmagee”, a graphic novel exploring the last Irish Witch Trials
    by John Freeman.
    Samhain (a Gaelic word pronounced "SAH-win"), was the name of a pagan religious celebration in Ireland to welcome the harvest at the end of summer, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. People carved Turnips, a vegetable widely harvested in Ireland, today we carve pumpkins. So it’s basically Halloween now-a-days!
    Keep up the good work guys, and thanks a million. 🫶

    What I really need is a good worked out Crochet/Knit category. It is so hard to find good keywords and search terms for crochet and knit items. I make and sell crochet hats, scarves, head bands, dishcloths, kitchen towels with crochet toppers,and afghans. I am pretty sure I wouldn't be the only one to be jumping for joy to find a Crochet/Knit category to help us better bring in sales. 💖🙏💖

    Thank you so, so much for this! I am a few weeks in to my etsy store and it can be overwhelming! So the "list every day or Etsy won't promote your shop" is BS? Because I've heard this so many times AND the bit about not using social media because of conversion rate! UGH! So glad I watched this... I'd much rather put out fewer, higher quality designs!

    I have an Etsy shop selling polymer clay earrings of all shapes, sizes and themes. I want to start a second shop, also selling polymer clay earrings but in a more specific niche (dark/gothic/spooky) with branding and socials to suit. The earring designs themselves would never overlap (I won’t list the exact same items in each store), and each shop would have a different logo. I’d like the shop names to be obviously different, but related - like sister shops. Would I be putting my original shop at risk by doing this? I am so keen to go ahead with the second shop, but so far I’ve held off in fear of causing problems with my first shop. I think I’m just being paranoid, but would love if you could set my mind at ease - I have learned so much from this channel, so thank you, Starla and Marc!

    • @StarlaMoore
      @StarlaMoore  11 месяцев назад +1

      It won't put your shop at risk as long as you never list the same item for sale in both shops. Keep in mind that two shops mean twice as much as work. ;-)

    Hi Starla , Are your query results estimated results or results taken directly from ETSY?

    • @StarlaMoore
      @StarlaMoore  10 месяцев назад

      As with any SEO tool, our search data must come from 3rd parties, as Etsy does not release this information to the public. So while some data within eRank DOES come from Etsy's API (organic rank before personalization, shop stats, etc), anything dealing in search must be acquired through large 3rd party data providers. At eRank, we currently purchase data that spans over MILLIONS of shoppers, meaning that our datasets are massive and set a great average for what we can expect search volumes to look like. 🙂

    I love you guys but unfortunately my experience does not support what you say, rather the contrary and I have tried and tested it time and time again. It just is.
    Whenever I stop posting products products regularly, (Even if I’m active in my shop as you suggest) my sales go down, and when I start posting new listings sales go up (of older items). And when I do it consistently, sales are consistent also. There just is something to it, even if there is no official proof or Etsy source to support that, but it’s so obvious. I wish it was true what you claim, it would be less work certainly, but Etsy seems to favour shops who actively list consistently, it just is that way based on my experience and the experience of many others, Sorry guys.

    • @StarlaMoore
      @StarlaMoore  11 месяцев назад +1

      What you're likely seeing is traffic from the slight boost that Etsy gives to new listings in search. These boosts are only temporary though, so listing daily is like a perpetual run on a hamster wheel, rather than focusing on building up organic listing quality scores. There's nothing necessarily wrong with listing every day if you're making a return - but it isn't a magic strategy, nor is it the only way. I wouldn't consider it a sustainable strategy simply due to the eventual burnout it will cause.

  • @G.G.8GG
    @G.G.8GG Год назад

    Got really stopped by your calling high numbers of high quality listings crap. So I have been watching lots of YT posters who claim success with their methods and seem to be sincere. Getting all educated & geared up to do this. But you say that's crap. They say it's essential to take advantage of Q4. Another "guru" says create only one listing a day. It's getting super confusing with not even a semblance of consensus. Are you saying high numbers of listings just won't sell?

    • @StarlaMoore
      @StarlaMoore  Год назад +4

      No. We are saying that uploading an astronomical number of listings or lidting every single day is not essential for success, nor are there any official sources from Etsy that indicate listing daily will help you rank higher. We understand that many Etsy gurus advise this but it is not based on any legitimate or sourced fact. Yes, in the scope of "probability", by having more listings, you may be more likely to discover a winning product. But this logic is akin to buying as many lottery tickets as possible to win the lottery. You're essentially paying a 0.20/mo fee to gamble in order to hopefully make spaghetti stick to the wall. Small batch experimentation and data analysis of these listings is a significantly more effective strategy.

    • @DesignCutters
      @DesignCutters Год назад

      is the .20 listing fee a monthly fee or one time for the listing term? I thought it was 90 days or am I confused? Or is it related to quantity listed - when you sell out and add more quantity do you get charged another .20 ?@@StarlaMoore

    • @G.G.8GG

      @@StarlaMoore Thanks! I appreciate the clarification. You guys are a great information source.

    • @StarlaMoore
      @StarlaMoore  11 месяцев назад

      @designcutters You'll be charged a 0.20 listing fee right when you list the item, e every time that listing sells (a renewal fee), and every 4 months if that listing does not sell within that window if you have automatic renewals turned on (listings renew every 4 months).

    hey guys. do you think that sellers who is researching their competition, might seriously disrupt search volume on etsy and erank trends?

    • @StarlaMoore
      @StarlaMoore  11 месяцев назад

      The ratio of buyer to sellers is so vast that I doubt there would be enough sellers researching their competitors to distort the numbers enough to matter. There's no way to subtract sellers from the search volumes, so this data will always be incorporated, no matter what analytics tools you're using. 😊
