Every artist should not be boxed inside a specific concept or genre. And yes, it's very brave for Felip to explore and take risks for his craft. Not everyone will really appreciate yung mga ganitong mejo dark themed stuff but if you have an eye for arts, i'm sure you'll really appreciate his artistry in this MV. Super bagay tlaga xa sa COM.PLEX na title ng EP niya where in xa mismo nagsabi sa interviews na it's all about embracing our complexities. Many are saying na pang-vibe lang daw yung lyrics and that it's not that deep. Pero I disagree. I think it is actually deep and more or less, yung MV mismo nag-explain ng mga bagay na he wanted to say but wasn't literally included in the lyrics. Since this is the 1st song for his EP, it just shows how he's now more confident about himself, calling himself a Rocksta and saying we can't handle him. Coz everytime he sings, his mic is ON FIRE. Like it's his blood, sweat and tears, that's why he's now a rocksta and you just have to watch him without blinking. Yung dances and movements too ng dancers around him implies that many somehow "worships" him but you actually can see him crawling at the ground sa center. So even if many hails him as a rocksta, he didn't portray himself as someone at the pedestal but as someone still crawling on the ground. I also like the part where he wore different masks, which for me, means that he has a different personna when he's a rocksta. I dunno. I just really love his MV. I know kahit 2min long lang yung MV, there's too much details to explain and interpret if you'll break it down. Basta, super dope and dark and awesome tlg ng MV niya. Truly setting a standard. He's on fire!!!👑🔥👑🔥👑🔥

Yes according to him he intentionally made this short as an intro song for his entire Complex EP. And also for listeners and viewers to crave for more. His Complex EP is totally out of the box. Felip is Felip and that makes him extraordinary and attractively unique.
I always respect artists who can put themselves out there without fear. Felip is channeling his feels and it’s all good.

The mv is a work of art but appeals only to a certain audience. So is the song.

Also, Felip explained in his radio interviews the meaning behind the songs. It’s more about don’t let go of your passion (rocksta), and accepting your flaws/negative side or complexities and nurture it in a positive way to become a better version of yourself (for complex).
Hence the reason I appreciate his music coz there’s a positive or motivational meaning. ❤

The song is not for me but I agree with you that the MV is good, very creative, well thought and something Felip should be proud of.
I love you guys doin a reactions to every Mahalima videos i enjoy you guys honesty. 😊 Felip mention on his radio station interview that the meaning of rocksta is represent his self on how he feels when his holding his microphone. And he also mention that he purposely make the song short so that the listener will keep goin and goin on to the song until they internally get the vibe of the song.

For me, Ken/Felip persona is more similar to GDragon/Kwon Jiyong esp in terms of fashion, charisma, aura, producing, being entrepreneur, multiple hairstyles & even lapitin ng mga isyu. With just this intro song & MV for his COMPLEX EP, it reminds me of GDragon's "Kwon Jiyong Album" which is very straightforward, direct & no holds bar to show who he really is & he's take on being "The GDragon". Felip's ROCKSTA somehow similar to GD's SUPERSTAR (lyrics) while the MV is similar to GD's One of a Kind MV. But anyway, can't wait for the whole EP. I'm sure it's a mixture of everything. 🥰💙

I understand that some people might not like this new song of Felip. For me 'tho, this is right up my alley. Peg na peg ko yung beat ng Rocksta'. And the MV, omg, so🔥🔥🔥 Sobrang nakaka-hype.🤘🤘
I don't need to know or understand the words to appreciate Rocksta' or any song for that matter. Tbh, I even turn off the caps/subs. I listen nga to African, Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Korean songs even if I don't understand them. Eh bakit nga yung mga instrumental music lng may nae-evoke rin na emotions. That's why the saying "music is a universal language" is very true for me.
Btw, if you read the credits, Felip had 29 dancers in this MV.

Rocksta mv rocks! Visually pleasing. A work of art. As an intro piece to the EP, it makes us excited for the other songs. Sabi nga ni Felip, Rocksta is not a literal rockstar but a feeling of being the best version of yourself in whatever you do. Agree with MST OT3, if this genre is new to you, give it several listens and you’ll enjoy the musical artistry and the profound message. Kudos to Felip and Team - super creative!
