Northern Alberta. in the winter mostly -40. below weather. also had too put a. set of. triples ( tire chains on) especially toward springtime I think hauling that frac sand. other than the dust flying around 24/ 7 and heat and cold. conditions looks like a good gig ( job that is ) keep that. @@brademery3128 I figured, I never saw anybody chain during the snow season. however when it snows, the oil wells will shut down. Trucks are not allowed in or out of the site. If your inside the site and it starts to snow a lot. They will not let you leave until it clears, even if you have chains.
Hey Luis I know it varies but can u please say and aprox of how much they pay per load. Cause Im thinking of going there but don’t trust any recruiter in trucking so please let me know.
I’m totally transparent when it comes to all of this, honestly last time I worked there was pre pandemic so its been a while. Honestly the prices would actually lower like few times a month. I don’t remember the exact numbers honestly. The further you go the more they pay the load. Sometimes they would only give 2 or 3 loads a day
I quit frac sand over a year ago now and i really don’t know how its going for others. Between 12-14 hours it really depends sometimes 2-3 trips and sometimes only 1

sunworship8 I put a gopro with a flex clamp, I attached it to a mount that is used for light beacons in the back. But with the flex clamp you can put it almost anywhere
@@surgelottomusic1468 everyload was different, it’s been 2 years since i worked there I don’t remember the prices. They were decently paid but a lot times they would cancel the loads or make you wait a long time to get loaded or unloaded. It’s very time consuming

M Jz I got my license almost 2 years ago at the age of 20, started off with my cascadia day cab pulling an end dump trailer mainly for hauling dirt to the landfills sometimes concrete. Also hauled a high side trailer used for demolition jobs and trash. Did fracsand in the beginning of this year then the pandemic closed everything and came back to do end dump and high sides trailers

Kosi Caruth Definitely not good right now to jump into the oilfield. West texas is an expensive region to live because of the oil fields. Also its long hours working here because the wells work 24/7 and waiting hours sometimes days for a load from dispatch. Drivers don’t really live in Midland or odessa. Majority are out of state, they make money and go back home. From what I’ve heard from many drivers is that work slows down MORE in June until January
Hoolehua Rayzed I don’t believe any company offers housing in the frac sand field. Especially because in frac sand you are mostly a third party or a contractor

I’ve never been to Austin tx so I couldn’t tell you where to look for jobs. However i know that material plants always need transfer trucks. Try looking into material plants and see if they need drivers or also search up Texas Disposal System, they hire drivers

@@_atlas007 yes i was all around that area, the furthest I would go would probably an hour out. La meza too. I can’t remember the prices. They pay depending how far the load is. It would he in ranges a fixed price. They would constantly change them. When I was there they lowered the prices twice

It varies by miles from 100 for a certain distance up to 500, they would also constantly lower the prices many times

Its paid by the load, but I was a owner op. If you are a company driver you probably get paid by the hour

@@_atlas007 it was not round trip paid. From the place you pick up loaded to its destination they would only pay that distance.
