      Agreed. Elvis was a gifted and superbly charismatic performer and singer. But he wasn't a composer. So I'm not sure why Billy would say Elvis was such a significant figure in terms of "musicology." The Beatles, I would argue, had a far more profound impact in that arena.

      @@47imagine Well Elvis's impact on the history and trajectory of music was immeasurable, despite the fact that he didn't write the hits, so I guess you could still argue on behalf of his significance to the overall scope of things, but I agree the Beatles had a greater impact.

    I understand Billy wanting to pay his respects but Elvis is totally not the most influential musician. In 100 years people will still be talking about the Beatles, not so much Elvis. Chuck Berry was more important

      Elvis's influence is more about the performance and the pomp and circumstance than it is the music. Chuck was important to music, but so was Robert Johnson and Fats Domino.
