Agreed. Elvis was a gifted and superbly charismatic performer and singer. But he wasn't a composer. So I'm not sure why Billy would say Elvis was such a significant figure in terms of "musicology." The Beatles, I would argue, had a far more profound impact in that arena.
@@47imagine Well Elvis's impact on the history and trajectory of music was immeasurable, despite the fact that he didn't write the hits, so I guess you could still argue on behalf of his significance to the overall scope of things, but I agree the Beatles had a greater impact.
I understand Billy wanting to pay his respects but Elvis is totally not the most influential musician. In 100 years people will still be talking about the Beatles, not so much Elvis. Chuck Berry was more important
Elvis's influence is more about the performance and the pomp and circumstance than it is the music. Chuck was important to music, but so was Robert Johnson and Fats Domino.

Elvis is why labels make artists
How many were in 1955 ? 22 years later in was dead. And he is still put up there at History of Recorded Music Top Table.
Very cool Reverend Billy is playing…they make great guitars
There's only one "Reverend" and his name is Billy Gibbons. Let's see the other Billy play some ZZ.
@@darrint3573 There are 3 Billy’s, they are goats and they are gruff.
Wow was he was spot on
FANFUCKENTASTIC INTERVIEW 👏🏻💪🏻👍🏻🙏🏻❤️✌🏻
ive noticed billy uses the word "talent" a lot. id love to ask him what he means
Did Stern say Elvis' influence was lost on him?
Howard Stern used to be great. Now he is a woke clown..
prince and mj wish they had the level of talent of ep
Let’s be real- mj is a superior dancer and singer. Elvis wonderful of course

Elvis’ talent stopped at singing
Very very very vague
ELVIS THE KING 👑
She's dead? Did she pull a Carrie Fisher?
"clouseau" on RUclips
Lost on you Howard? That's YOUR OWN FAULT. Almost ANYONE, no matter age, comes to enjoy and listen to THE KING
I don't
Sometimes Howard's a smutz. Elvis is the fuck'n king baby! Americana at its best. What is there not to get?
Can you amaging finding out that you have sisters and your the baby
50s elvis the best..not 70s elvis...
Of course everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but Ray Charles would have disagreed with Billy and I would have agreed with Ray.
Same here... Just as an open minded fanatic of pure music, I totally agree with you.
@@pricila6511 I did cover “Hound Dog” ruclips.net/video/0yFFPTPP1n8/видео.html

yep ray was sure good at COVERING country songs ....great talent there
Elvis barely wrote any songs. Cmon Billy…
He did. People just don't listen to them

@47imagine "Before Elvis there was nothing" John Lennon
@@azadmajors2098 What's your point? Yes, Elvis changed the landscape for sure.
Critics are o so more talented than those thay judge
elvis's music always sounds lugubrious to me it doesn't have the speed of rock n roll
For me its more lachrymose and schmaltzy
I think it sounds vondabah and excelante.

Don’t agree with his argument about Elvis’s talent. But that’s ok. Many people revere him. So they don’t need my opinion. Lol
He was very talented.
You ain’t nothing but a hound dog
Before Elvis there was nothing.. John Lennon
stand up for yourself. Elvis was an entertainer, not a musician.
Unmarriageable
From everything I've heard/read, Billy is incapable of friendship.
He didn't even write his songs. He was just a singer not artist. People give him too much credit
True
He did more as an artist than most will ever do.
Troll
Elvis didn't write any music. Case closed
I understand Billy wanting to pay his respects but Elvis is totally not the most influential musician. In 100 years people will still be talking about the Beatles, not so much Elvis. Chuck Berry was more important
Total crap, Elvis passed away 45 years ago and is still loved by millions, Elvis will always be remembered
Elvis's influence is more about the performance and the pomp and circumstance than it is the music. Chuck was important to music, but so was Robert Johnson and Fats Domino.
Elvis was one of the big inspirations for the Beatles and Zeppelin.
