Great pattern!! I’m always fascinated by the techniques I see people use in their videos. Particularly how people hold the yarn in their tension hand. I have to wrap around my pinky. Once in a while I come across people who hold their hook like a pencil (I’ve tried and it’s awkward for me). It’s just so interesting to me that there’s no wrong way. The outcome is still beautiful and true talent.
I do too! I struggle with tight stitching so I'm always trying to find a new but comfortable way to hold my yarn. I found one im gonna try when I make this one
I love this tutorial you made it very beginner friendly and such a simple but really awesome design for a shawl. Just the kind of spooky shawl i was looking for ! I am currently working on this pattern for my Halloween costume, i found glow in the dark yarn and wanted to use it for this exact purpose and this is just perfect perfect perfect! 🤌🏽🥹💙
I’ve been stuck on what to make with this sparkly light grey yarn I’ve got for ages and this is PERFECT! I knew I wanted a shawl but most of the ones I’ve found are a bit old fashioned for my style, this is so wonderful 🥺
Omg There is less than a month left until Halloween and I wanted to wear something related to spider webs, this is perfect, I am in the process and it is looking great, thank you very much!
Im cosplaying Miguel o'hara and really wanted some kind of like...cape thing with this pretty yarn i have! It took me forever to figure out a double crochet after never crocheting before 😂 But! THANK YOU!! Its gonna be so awesome!
I bet you could do 2 DC in the first and last stitch to give the edge a cleaner look, I'm going to try that with my shawl. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the yarn store!
Thanks for such a simple and cool tutorial! I was able to follow along quite easily even being left handed and I had my own spider web shawl in a bit under 3 hours time :)
Hello! I just discovered this video & it is perfect for the project I had in mind. Can you please post a finished picture? I am making this with 3 different colors of yarn for my daughter's Halloween costume. (Black, purple & orange) I feel like I am doing it correctly, but it looks a bit loose goosey. I'm sure my tension is a bit too loose. I'm just curious how this is to look completed & on. Thanks so much! Love the video & look forward to watching your others. 😊
I actually never went bigger than this! I made a tiny one to hang from a basket. I definitely would recommend a small hook compared to thr yarn size to help with a tighter tension.
@@StitchesandScribbles oh good idea. Shoot. I've been using a big hook. I've gotten about 9 or 10 rows done. (My second attempt. My first attempt, I didn't frog it, just stopped at about 7 rows) Thanks for responding! I appreciate it! Alot of youtubers never respond. So thank you!! I may frog it & start over with a smaller hook.
@Laurel Baumgarte No problem! Glad to help! I'm still a small channel so I don't get many comments 😂😂 I love interacting with viewers. Thanks for your question!
Am I suppose to keep increasing till it's huge? Or can I keep a few rows the same number of chain? Then increase 1. And repeat?? Idk just seems like the loops will be really big by the end
The original idea was to keep increasing and have big drapey loops at the end. You can also split each section at some point and cut your chain number in half and dc into a chain in the middle of a section.
It could mean that your stitches are looser than mine. Try going down a hook size or doing fewer stitches in your first row so that you have fewer web sections.

I love looking at different methods too! I've always held my hook like a knife, and tensioned around my index finger.

Love that idea! Happy yarn shopping!
Thank you! Looks good & easy to remember how to increase.
Extremely easy to follow. You earned a new sub!
Thank you so much! Happy to have you! ♥️

Yay! I'm so happy it worked for you!!
Would this be easy enough for a beginner to do?? Thanks Kat 😊
I think so! It's just chain stitches and double crochets!

@@laurelbaumgarte7703 this is a long shot but did you finish it? How did it turn out bigger?
This was so easy, it only took a couple hours, thanks
Love to hear that! Thank you!

This would make a cool bandana....
That would be so cool!!!
Mine doesn't look yours mine is curving into a circle I want a half circle what am I doing wrong

great pattern, but I am I the only one going crazy because of the bracelet sound on the desk? UGH lol
Sorry about that! Glad you liked the pattern!
Day before Halloween hopefully I can make it lol
You've got this!!!
do you mean chain when you say slip stitch?
Yes!
💚💚💚
👍💖
Me gusta pero necesitas bajar más tu cámara
Lo siento!
Hard to see, looking down at your hands and not seeing stitches
Thanks for the feedback!
True can't see
Agree. Your camera has to be much closer. How big can you make this shawl?
@@Shop2killAlso As big as you want if you continue the increase pattern!
a darker yarn would be better considering the work surface is so close to the yarn color
