I just came across your video looking for rules for Sabacc for my tabletop RPG campaign, and this is fantastic! Hope my players will be excited for their upcoming high stakes casino heist!
Thanks for watching. In fact, the higher hands are very very rare in the game. Most of the time it's sabacc or sabacc with a pair. When in doubt you can always look up the hands list in the rulebook! That's what I did when I started playing this game
i was able to fuse the video, and the Disney version, to make it work better together just take the videos discard pile(the face down pile), and place it on top of the face card pile, your card face up obviously. that's what Disney wants you to do anyway... that way, you're following Disney's family friendly rules. AND if you decide to play it gambling style, it still makes sense, and you still have to bet 2 chips to pick up the face card, or 1 chip to pick up from the pile. either version you still have to trade to pick up. but for some reason he made it a separate pile. adding his poker/gambling style makes more use of the "winning hands" part of the Disney instructions. in my few games playing the Disney version, nobody EVER got more than 3 cards. so nobody could declare an idiots array, fleet or anything... hope this helps fix anyones confusion between the 2 version
Great video, and fantastic job explaining the game. The only thing I would disagree with is the discard. We discard our cards face up on the discard pile (like many card games). From the Hasbro and Galaxy’s Edge rules, I don’t see anything that indicates you should discard face down in a separate pile.
I know this is a older video, but when you exchange, should you not discard to the face up pile? I have seen other plays that do this. Just curious about your opinion on this.
@@LaTribunedeCoruscant thank you. Also, I realized that at the end of Solo, if Lando was able to use the Green Sylop, he would've had +10, -10, +6, -6, and the Sylop. What hand would this have given him?

Hi. Awesome explanation and thank you for the pdfs. You've done great job. I've been playing it and I have a question. Do you have to shuffle the deck after each round, or you keep playing with the remaining cards until you finish the game? Great video, thank you! Question: Maybe I missed it but we can’t seem to decipher one thing.. when you have two players that have Sabacc with a single pair, which player wins the tie break? Closest to zero is what we thought initially but we’ve had questions about the staves being better cards and possibly trumping anything 6 and below? Which is correct?
Most of the time we play, we are just trying to get 0, which we struggle with. Is it naturally easy to get a value of zero in general? Does each player need to have a minimum number of 2 cards at all times?
Blake Jones most people that want the game are fanatics of Star Wars... they aren’t replicas of the cards in Star Wars and I’ve had a view friends that got them and said they felt cheap
Very nice video with a very clear explanation of the gameplay. How would you approach playing Sabacc without betting? I bought the Galaxy’s Edge version of the game, but it doesn’t come with the chips.
Thank you for taking the time to organize and put together the video and PDF for a well thought out, fun, very playable, Star Wars lore driven Corellian Spike game! Really appreciate it! One question maybe you could shed light on: Strategically speaking, in what scenario would anyone fold the first round (or even second round)? It seems to me that there is no "bad" starting hand since any hand has the potential to become a winning hand (by trying your luck at trading or buying). In poker, there are "bad" starting hands to start in which you would generally fold - this does not seem applicable in Corellian Spike, correct? Or do you just kinda go with a 'lucky feeling'?
I must admit the only times I folded were during the last round because as you said, the hands can drastically change at the end of a round during the spike phase so... If you've got a bad hand either try to improve it or wait for the dice!
What happens if you add a sylop to a rule of two (two pair), as Lando tried to do at the end of Solo? Is it considered a high ranking Rule of Two (that would lose to a banthas wild or higher), or does it rank above a yee-haa (single two of a kind with a sylop)? For that matter, is the same thing true with straight staves or banthas wild?
Hey, I have a question. Is it considered a, for example, +8 & -8 a pair? Or to be a pair it has to be the same value with the same + or -. In the instructions you can see the sabacc with a pair, it is done with + 1, +1, and -2. If I have the hand +4 & -4. Is that a sabacc with a pair? Thanks.
@@LaTribunedeCoruscant I have another question. If I have a sabacc but, everybody folds and the last player standing in the hand is me? Do I win the sabacc pot? Because if everybody folds I dont have to show my cards like in poker, I guess.
i think his deck was purchased off etsy and not the official galaxy edge deck. i know etsy sells good quality sabacc card with boxes like that EDIT: nevermind i read in a different comment he said he had his box was 3d printed, covered in leather and painted... same shit as etsy really..
What if you have two pairs (for example +9, -9 and +1, -1) and a green sylop? Is it like Yee-Haa, but with a second pair and is it better then since you have more cards?
It should be considered as a Yee-Haa indeed. If there's another Yee-Haa, the hand with the closest pair to 0 wins. In that case you have two pairs, so a better chance to have the best pair.

I‘m slightly confused. In Solo Lando would’ve had two +10 and two -10 without his cheating Green Sylop, which is still a squadron and a pretty good hand, after your rule book, as I understood, it’s better than straight staves. So, did he even need the green Sylop to win?
The wiki says that after the first two cards are dealt, everyone must be dealt a third "spike" card, but it also says that some of the winning hands are two cards. Am I missing something or did they mess up?
The Spike Card, as explained in the Book Tales From Vandor and also included in my rulebook, is used in a variant of Sabacc Corellian Spike played in the Yarith Casino.
Five. Because you start with 2 cards, and at each round you have the possibility to add a card to your hand. There are three rounds so you can get three additional cards, no more.
Can you print them back-to-back to save on paper and where to get the paper to make the cards? Also, there is a website that might be able to make the cards. With your permission, can I go to this site to make the cards after giving proper credit?
Les Valenzuela I actually managed to seamlessly move this into a normal bicycle deck. It’s pretty easy actually, just have 2 decks. Red suits are negative, black suits are positive. 2 jokers are the “0” cards. Then sort out the decks so that there are 3 1-10 red sets and 3 1-10 black sets and easy peesy
Why bet the first two rounds if you can't play your cards till round 3? I'm confused on only that. Can't you just play the first two without betting and pay the cost of cards but then bet last round? Idk the first two feel pointless or I'm not getting something.
Question..Correllian Spike is 3 rounds...what happens if you spike the dice on round 3?? do you have a 4th round and so on and so on until there isnt a spike?
At the end of the third and final round, if the dice show matching symbols, all the players must discard their hands and receive new cards. There isn't another round after the third and the players must show the hands they just received, and judging with these hands, a winner is designated.
@@seanomeara6979 the token values don't really matter as long as you determine it before playing. For example in my Sabacc case, brown = 1 credit, silver = 5 credits, gold = 10 credits.
So if one of your first two cards is a Sylop then on your next turn you draw the second Slyop is that anything special or it’s meaningless because you have a 3rd card in hand ?
Is the Syllop ever used for something, does it have a value? In the Solo movie, I saw that Lando could have won if he had a Syllop. Or is that because he didn't have the right hand?
What I meant by "does it have a value" I meant that In the Solo movie, I saw that Lando could won, if he had a Syllop but if its a zero, how does it make a difference.
the object of the game is to reach zero, the sylop, having a value of zero, is the strongest card in the game. Remember that reaching zero with more cards is a better hand, which means having a sylop automatically makes a hand with a value of zero better. Plus, the highest winning hands use the sylops.

In Solo Lando would’ve had two +10 and two -10 without his cheating Green Sylop, which is still a squadron and a pretty good hand, after your rule book, as I understood, it’s better than straight staves. So, did he even need the green Sylop to win?
because Disney wanted it to seem like he had to cheat to win.
For the chip count, how many chips required for a game?
I wonder the same
would assume take whatever chips you have and divide equally by how many players
Thank you sooo much this is awesome. Just had one question how did you make your credits
Cristian Rivera his friend 3D printed them
Where can I buy this game?
Where can I get those credits?
Does the dealer role move clockwise after every round?
Yes 🙂
Can you still burn your hand for a complete set on your go?
No you can't
The wiki says that after the first two cards are dealt, everyone must be dealt a third "spike" card, but it also says that some of the winning hands are two cards. Am I missing something or did they mess up?
The Spike Card, as explained in the Book Tales From Vandor and also included in my rulebook, is used in a variant of Sabacc Corellian Spike played in the Yarith Casino.
What are the Maximum number of cards you can have in your hand?
Five. Because you start with 2 cards, and at each round you have the possibility to add a card to your hand. There are three rounds so you can get three additional cards, no more.
Where did you get the credits?
Etsy, type sabacc chips
what happens to the Sabacc pot at the end of the game if no one gets 0, is it just divided back among the players?
No, it stays on the table until someone wins a round with a sabacc (=0)
@@LaTribunedeCoruscant so if all your opponents run out of money to bet, they still have to keep playing till someone gets it?
If everyone's hand is equal to zero, does this list of hands in the rulebook work as a hierarchy?
Yes :)
How many credits r with each player?
Why bet the first two rounds if you can't play your cards till round 3? I'm confused on only that. Can't you just play the first two without betting and pay the cost of cards but then bet last round? Idk the first two feel pointless or I'm not getting something.
You don't have a full hand until the very end in poker and still you have to bet thrice, so that's the same logic here
Question..Correllian Spike is 3 rounds...what happens if you spike the dice on round 3?? do you have a 4th round and so on and so on until there isnt a spike?
At the end of the third and final round, if the dice show matching symbols, all the players must discard their hands and receive new cards. There isn't another round after the third and the players must show the hands they just received, and judging with these hands, a winner is designated.
@@LaTribunedeCoruscant Great!!! Thanks for the clarification!!!
If you were doing a dollar poker night..what would you say would roughly be the value of bronze silver and gold credits?
im assuming the bronze would be a dollar..silver 5$..and gold $25...but maybe its opposite..i dont know?
@@seanomeara6979 the token values don't really matter as long as you determine it before playing. For example in my Sabacc case, brown = 1 credit, silver = 5 credits, gold = 10 credits.
So if one of your first two cards is a Sylop then on your next turn you draw the second Slyop is that anything special or it’s meaningless because you have a 3rd card in hand ?
It would have been perfect if you discarded your second card and received a second Sylop.
@@LaTribunedeCoruscant can you discard a card during the draw phase without picking another up if you have more than 2 in your hand?
No, when you discard a card it's only to get a new one.
Hi, how many chips should I print? Please, it is urgent.
For 4 players I use a set of 200 tokens
200 tokens ?? !! Only 50 already cost me 20 euros ... :D
Is the Syllop ever used for something, does it have a value? In the Solo movie, I saw that Lando could have won if he had a Syllop. Or is that because he didn't have the right hand?
Syllop is the name for the 0 card.
@@Rangersilver6Thanks, I get it now.
How many players can play with one deck?
Truly, there's no limit but I would say that you shouldn't be more than eight players
@@LaTribunedeCoruscant thank you
