    Hi, Great video, should be more informed videos as this one. Do you give suggestions ? We have a 674 Inter that has a transmission light come on after working 3/4 hour. let it sit to cool down for 30 minutes , then its agoer again. Would the oil be getting too hot ? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, we are in Australia, Thanks.

      +Deborah Flint Thanks for the compliment, that makes the effort worthwhile! :) Does your tractor have the standard or hydro transmission? I expect the warning light is for oil temp, but the concern is why would it heat up that fast. There is an oil cooler in front of the rad, make sure both are clean for best cooling. Thanks, for watching!

      Could you tell me on my 1987 885 it didn’t have a front end loader and one was added. Is the hydraulic pump that came with the tractor adequate to supply the front end loader. I think the pump is going bad because you have to race up the motor real high to get all of the hydraulic stuff to work at all. The front end loader,the steering and raising or lowering the box blade in the back. Was just wondering if the added front end loader might be making the pump go bad. Thanks for your help.

    • @CanadianRedneck15

      @@mitchellradecker8582 It does sound like your pump is getting tired, like anything else they do wear out. The internal pump in an 885 is fine to run a front loader attachment.

    I have a case ih 895. Lift and power steering work great. I have blown a few steering seals on cylinder in front, it seems as though its under pressure even on opposite side that would be expected. PTO nor 4wd will engage. Would the likely culprit be in the MCV.

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15 6 лет назад

      HI Jared, that sounds like a flow control or priority valve, either in the MCV or the little block on top of the lift cover under the seat. Good luck and thanks for watching!

    • @jaredhendrix961
      @jaredhendrix961 6 лет назад

      Checked pressure at port...nothing. Took mcv and pump off. The regulator valve behind part that engages pto valve seemed to be stuck at least i had to push it out with pick. What that be culprit if it was seated all the way down? There was also a plastic piece under the forward most gear with black paper like stuff on it. It seems to be dieting the fluid also.

    • @CanadianRedneck15
      @CanadianRedneck15 6 лет назад

      Hi Jared, it's possible that could be the culprit, I am not familiar with the internals of the MCV valve, but I would think that piece should move freely.

    • @CanadianRedneck15

      If the arms aren't lifting all the way under load it could be a weak hydraulic pump, damaged lift cylinder or a weak relief valve. You will need to do some testing to figure out what is the cause.

    Poor old Case ih 42 series. Not the best of tractors, tho it did over come a few problems that 95 series had. Park brake was a big improvement and the transmission range gears where synchronize and hydraulic pump made to turn faster. Down side was a input shaft inside the trans would share under load. PTO pack burning out, clutch drag problems, synchro not set up right from the factory inside trans. transfer pump failures, the list goes on.

    Really enjoyed the video. I have a case 685 and the remote and the 3PH hydraulics work “sometimes”. When I put something heavy on the 3PH or via remote it can lift it for a while but then just stops working. It will start working again randomly.. The tractor did sit for years..Do you think it is the pump or something else. I will need to take it to the dealer just want to have an idea of the issue before bringing it to them.

      If the hydraulics start working again after the oil has cooled down, then yes it's the hydraulic pump, if it's random I would look at the priority valve or flow control valve. Good luck and thanks for watching!

      You would have to hook up some pressure gauges in select spots to diagnose where the problem lies, but the valve body under the seat is pretty easy to get to and check out. Look for any scars or burrs etc.
