  • At a ceremony in Calgary, Alberta Energy Minister Brian Jean signs a carbon sequestration agreement with Shell and ATCO. The deal allows the two companies to store carbon dioxide underground at a carbon storage hub 45 kilometres east of Edmonton, and is part of the first phase of the province's plan to decarbonize its energy industry.
The minister is joined at the event by Susannah Pierce, president and country chair of Shell Canada, and Bob Myles, chief operating officer for ATCO EnPower.
