There isn't really such a thing as a 'defensive formation' in UEBS. The AI isn't up to tactics. But it's hilarious imagining the Civil War soldiers showing up, looking around at their allies, and thinking "Wait. Are we cannon fodder? We're cannon fodder, aren't we."
I always love seeing modern soldiers survive longer than they should in these battles

I cant explain why i watched the whole video but i had fun 😅
*SPOILER ALERT*
The best chance the Defenders had was their melee forces but the Swordsmen stretched themselves too thin and the Mechs attacked far too slow to be unable to work off each other.
It also does no favors that almost every time I see this formation on this map, its always snakebit for the Defenders. Either they get completely overwhelmed or drowning claims soldiers.
However, given they had 5M and lost with 25k left, that was pretty close for this map.
I hope we also get an Omaha Beach soon. Those are always a fun watch on this end.
Melee forces have to be backed up properly by the ranged units and can't overextend so that they get flanked badly. But they're brainless, of course. And half the giant mech pilots had no idea what they were doing.
A match up between the sci-fi swords men vs the Jedi would be cool

when the big knives came out in force i was gutted cause the zombies had been doing really well and their timing seemed really unfair....i am so glad i didn't bail and i watched til the end. that's the most satisfying clip I've seen yet. Brilliant

If you was doing timing right for human army, ( i am talk about attack Mode.) human army is win. So, your strategy is little wrong.
Well sometimes he releases the attacks at bad times.
This was more the AI spread out too thin and it allowed the Undead to overwhelm. The Cyborg Swordsmen needed to stay clumped to work off each other's attack cooldowns.
Any open space and the enemy swarms them hard.
