“Hey, darling, what do you feel for lunch today!” “Could you get me a rat, sweetheart?” “Sure thing!” “Oh, and maybe a freshwater shrimp if you can?” “You got it!”
I love these creatures. They are so beautiful and getting the chance to see them like this is as if we were there personally. Thank you for giving us the oppurnity to do so.
Just called in one to our campfire last night. He hung out with us for hours in a tree next to our site. Didn't even get scared off when someones car alarm went off.
Love the way they call to each other and 2nd, when he brings food it is so sweet how he calls to her and waits for her to take it from him. They are SO sweet together, I just love watching.
I live in a more urban area, and I hear a pair calling fairly frequently. I thought they only lived far from human habitation, so it was a pleasant surprise!
I love barred owls. Have only heard them a few times in the more rural parts of my state(West virginia) there have been however, a pair of great horned owls calling right behind my house for the last few months. Subsequently, one of my cats has also gone missing since then =(.
Just used my owl hooter 30 min ago and attracted a couple and another young barred owl at 0245 it was incredible. Owls are so quiet they see you but won't say nothing. Just be looking at you . a rats worst nightmare indeed
I like how the owls are polite in waiting for each other to finish their calls.
Wish my in-laws could learn that!
I love owls! The female replying to her mate is so endearing.
I think she placing her lunch order.... Love it

He asks, "Are you OK?" "I'm OK," she says.

Oh I miss "my" barred owls! I lived in NEPA for 12 years and would wake up in the middle of the night to listen to them. Such a beautiful song.
owl''conversation'' :''what's cooking tonight?'' ''mice!''
This was so helpful to confirm that it was a barred owl that I'm hearing right now in northern Minnesota. Thanks for posting!

These owls are fun to call in. I’ve done it in the forest at night and have had owls appear in the branches right above me.
I hear this behind my house at night. Interesting to see the animal doing it.

I live in an urban area. My apartment is surrounded by a large wooded area. I woke to the sounds of an owl🦉🤍
My backyard owl is hooting right now. I don’t hear a response, though-but I am indoors.
I’m suddenly quite interested in owls.
Beats cellphones and the signal is better.
I have do many of these where I live.. sometimes the calls get crazy
Question did the owls put all those wood chips in the nest or did the bird people??

Is it simply comforting to hear their mate call, or is actual information exchanged?
