This is my first time watching your channel. Can I ask why you don’t have dogs? You need at least one for you and your animals protection. Plus they are great companions!
Moose was keeping me from going to the car, so I clapped and yelled, waved a broom... no response. Then I opened my door real quick and started barking like a mad dog, and boy did that moose run!🤣

In Anchorage Alaska we had a narrow l -shaped kennel. A young bull moose actually got in there and turned around and came out. They love dog food. Another time a large moose went into our kennel, stuck its head in the trash can full of dog food, knocked it over and just laid down and kept eating. Very fun to watch but also very dangerous.

Fixing the fence stronger is a good idea, but she could still knock it down if she had a mind to and was hungry enough for some of that good ole chicken feed she just discovered. Mooses are scary creatures, never know what they might do next.

I have always wanted to live in Alaska. I was three years old and still remember how Beautiful it was. I wound in the wonderful and amazing state of Texas but I would love to go to Alaska and see the natural beauty of Alaska again. ❤
On my second day in Alaska, it was in March as I recall, my wife and I were just hanging out on our porch. Imagine my surprise when a gorgeous female moose just sauntered up to the porch as she grazed whatever the heck it is moosies graze at the time of year. She seemed almost placid, completely calm, as she walked right past me within eighteen inches I'd guess, and I stood frozen stiff as a board. Used to live in Alaska. Wish i was still there! Was on the way from the AFB I was living on, to go to my last appointment with my OB on Ft. Wainwright and the one highway we had, had a moose standing in the middle of the road so we turned our cars off and got out for a chat till the moose decided to go. Was late for the appointment, but my doctor was perfectly fine with my reason. Never mess with moose!😂
Reminds me of sitting at the living room window with my two little boys and watching mama and calf in our front yard in Anchorage. And no, I was never tempted to go outdoors for any reason when they were around. Those impressive creatures have zero fear of humans. I would leave a lot of produce in the garden for them that was past prime condition.
I lived in Wasilla for 2 years. One day, I was getting ready to go to the store and as soon as I stepped outside - there was a momma and baby moose at my car. I quickly changed my mind. It took them almost 2 days to decide to move on. We really enjoyed watching them though. They are beautiful creatures though.

Love your attitude towards nature. In NZ the Māori act as caretakers of the land as I have seen many other native peoples around the world do. Take care and be safe. Thanks for the videos, loved this one especially
I like how calm and matter-of-fact you are about the situation. Will you start leaving some chicken feed outside so to try to stop the massive traspassers getting in the chicken space? Greetings from the Boot. 💜
This is Funny! Enjoyed it so much! Checking in from Phoenix. I miss Minnesota, where I left my heart. Used to live on a Lake with all assortment of wildlife, but now I’m 74 & live here since my Husband died. Wonderful family here & Im so Blessed!
What about a double fence? Check Living Homestead Tradition and how they solved the deer going into their garden. They have a double 6’ fence six feet apart making a moat of 6’ where the chickens also run. It has to do with deer won’t jump if they can’t be sure of landing and there isn’t enough room to jump and jump again. Another thing you might look into, an alarm goes off to scare the moose away. Deep South Homestead had a motion detector that set off dogs barking. Just suggestions.
Great experience! Thank you for sharing the moose with us! Sam did great protecting the ladies lol Enjoyed your chat during the ride along to town. Good to see all the Christmas trees! Great video!

I see them daily on my drive into town, and often here on the property.
Love your attitude towards nature. In NZ the Māori act as caretakers of the land as I have seen many other native peoples around the world do. Take care and be safe. Thanks for the videos, loved this one especially
I believe we are at our best when we work WITH nature.
I like how calm and matter-of-fact you are about the situation. Will you start leaving some chicken feed outside so to try to stop the massive traspassers getting in the chicken space?
Greetings from the Boot. 💜
I have started locking up the food completely so she will hopefully move on. I do not want her to expect a meal at my place lol.
@@SeanInAlaska Fair enough.
I subscribed because I loved Your Sense of Humor....on the
" more info." summary, etc. Now..to watch the video..❤ from PA
Thank you!
I may try Danny's idea! That is brilliant and cheap!
Love your little cottage and land x
Thank you!
I love moose you guys are lucky to be able to be that close to these gorgeous animals. They are big!! Thanks for sharing.😊❤❤🐾🐾❤❤❤
I am fond of them as well!
Ya the one by your window was the baby. Still has his baby furs. Cute ☺️
Now that she has been in there ,your going to have to get a 12' fence.Ha ha!
Have always wanted to see a moose in the wild!! So big and beautiful
Great experience! Thank you for sharing the moose with us! Sam did great protecting the ladies lol Enjoyed your chat during the ride along to town. Good to see all the Christmas trees! Great video!
Thanks guys!
Beautiful home thanks for sharing
Wow, she was a big girl!! How funny, Sean! Good idea to keep an eye out, wouldn't be good if she sneaked up on you over the chicken feeder she's enjoying :) I enjoyed all the pictures of the trees, I always miss mine when we take it down. 🎄🎄I hope you had a very Merry Christmas, stay warm up there!! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Fishy! Staying warm is not the challenge it was now that the woodstove is in! Christmas was wonderful! Happy New Year to you!
What a great video! It's my dream to get to Alaska before I leave this world. I don't want to miss your neck of the woods!
Amazing. Awesome video but scary as they are so unpredictable.
They really are, and they are so quiet too!
You need to get a bull fence charger and put three strands of straight electric fence wire a foot apart starting at 4 ft. 😂
In Wasilla, Alaska we had a moose show up every year, sometimes with a calf. We named her Goldie because of her color. Her back was higher than the Explorer and could lick the vehicle clean! Get a salt lick and set it off the drive a ways. May help. Air horns work good to. Love the video. Thank you for following the rules, yes they are beautiful.
I have a great deal of respect for the wildlife rules here! I like seeing the animals and the rules help keep that possible.
HOWDY, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE MOOSE KIND! LOOKED LIKE SWEET AND SALTY WAS ALL THEY WANTED. SO NEAT!! ACE💌
It was pretty cool to watch lol
@SeanInAlaska I WAS GIFTED & WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOUR SUBSCRIBER AND YOU!
THANK YOU☆☆☆☆☆
💌 ACE💌
Thanks for all the Christmas trees! We didn’t have one this year because my husband was sick.
I hope he gets better soon!
Hey, that was quite the adventure! Noticed your Kennedy Meadows sweatshirt. Great place…just up the Hill from me.
I grew up in Tuolumne county lol...graduated from Summerville.
@ Oakdale.
@outwest6338 i went to that rodeo and dance every year in the 80s!
Need a fence for your fence. Or keep the feed bucket inside the coop?
Get an electric fence to put around the chicken house
Put some salt blocks at the edge of your property they will love it.
Invest in a couple of those canned foghorns.
Thanks for sharing such an awesome experience. Beautiful creatures and that one definitely gave you the look 😂😂😂
Cute, the rooster wants to pick a fight "how dare that big thing step into my yard" 🤣
Moose looks round from the side of the shed as thought to say “are you talking to me”. 😂
Par for the course, they KNOW that they own it and aren't afraid of you at all.
First time seeing you, was great. Loved seeing all the Christmas trees. I didn’t put one up but now wish I had. Really enjoyed your video. Will watch you again. Do you live there alone? Do you live there permanently. God bless you 🎉🎉
Well thank you! I am a firm believer that everyone should have a tree for Christmas, the beauty alone makes it worthwhile! I live alone and I live here full-time. I work a 40 hour a week job in town 16 miles from me.
Could you clang a couple pots together? Set off your truck alarm with the key fob??
Western North American moose are different than the Eastern ones. Eastern moose would have run or walked away and would not confront you, since you were not between it and the young’n. ❤ Love them! I’m envious of your lifestyle.
Pots work best so far
Yup, so cool seeing moose so close! They are big, lol. I just realized the size of her head! :O .
So, chicken are alright out in these temps this time of year there? That's good. :)
She was huge! The chickens have done well down to the coldest Temps I have had here so far.
What a GREAT video!!! Thanks for sharing! I LOVE it when they come into our yard!
