Where I came from, the original Bopis was Beef lungs. Bopis is my favorite beef recipe. We have a cattle ranch in the Philippines and everytime we butcher a cow I made sure I have plenty for myself. In 2016, when we went home we butcher a cow and I cooked a lot of bopis and put the rest in freezer and I got lucky because I was able to take it home and the US CUSTOM did not asked me what was wrapped in a bubble pack. Unfortunately, The FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION prohibited the sale of animal lungs in the market in the 70's because they said it's not safe. Unless, you go to the farm and butcher your own then it's ok.
