New sub here and I've seen all ur restaurant vids so far x I'm a chef and watch way too many ptetentious cooking vids so it's fun to see a layman who doesn't know much about food (no offense fr) talk about their genuine reaction to food rather than a professional food reviewer review foods
Like the one time you tried vegan food you complained about the food being bitter. I immediately knew it was because of the kale but I don't think you realized 😂
The way you recommended Mask Aras and put the address up is so commendable! It’s so refreshing seeing creators with high audience traffic doing things like that for great restaurants that don’t necessarily have many customers
@NxSBob. ???How did you get to that conclusion when cigheart said IF he was famous...meaning he would already have fame and then use it to give shoutouts....? critical thinking much?
@ThermonuclearTesshonestly I think my city found out how to be the worse possible because even though I’m in NYC I can’t find any good spots where I live💔
I've been to Maskaras and can attest it's really good. It was also slow, empty on the day that I went (a weekday afternoon). This was about 2 years ago.
Brother I'll say this you keep going to different Mexican spots you can mispronounce all the damn words you want... I appreciate you for showing and sharing a glimpse of the Mexican culture as well letting us know how truly just the food alone made an impact in your life!!! Thats awesome thanx
Same! I love that he’s in DFW, because I’m semi-local. 2 hours away, but I go to Dallas all the time and I love having new places to check out thanks to Dylan!
Pro tip: The radishes are sides, we use them as palette cleansers and don’t put them inside of the tacos. Love that you picked the right music and took your gf to the lucha restaurant. Now it’s time to see it live!
Spider Gwen obviously loves her job a lot, I wish we had more places where serving staff could be as honestly cheery as her. Wish the chefs put as much effort as her. Plus goddamn, that Mexican place looked so damn good.
she's a gem! it's just a bit embarrassing, probably, to go in there alone...like most restaurants... she did great and fun serving ritual. A lot of fun themed caffes in Japan do that all the time - the hand gestures, the singing or doing a 'spell' when they serve the food. So fun! :)
Please please please please PLEASE try more Mexican and Middle-Eastern food; if you liked these two restaurants enough, it'll make you a fan for life. They're two rich tapestries of culinary delights.
Small business finding ways to use technology rather than using a Disney rip, is probably one of the better use of AI than many. The alternative probably wasn’t going to be to pay a designer, it was to google “Aladdin and Jasmine” images. I’d worry more about Disney not paying artists than a small cafe in Texas.
@cigheartno body is like you people! No one looks where to hire people for digital purposes. Wtf do you mean hire. These are just normal people not terminally online people.
I love that the lucha place ended up winning in the end, especially when you notice that it seems the LEAST decorated out of the four restaurants that you went to in this video. Goes to show that the actual food will always win over the aesthetic.
I had never felt so jealous of someone before in my entire life when I saw the look on your face when you tried those tacos. It is devastating to me that I don't live anywhere near you. So, I shall live vicariously through you and maybe one day actually go there. Mask Aras is now on my bucket list.
I can't imagine working at the Magic Time Machine and having to wear those costumes all night, lol! I hope people tip them well, it actually looked like the menu prices were fairly cheap. I used to work across the street from there for several years, and I never gave the place much notice!
BRO- I grew up down the road from the Magic Time Machine and I would BEG my parents to take me there at any opportunity, but the food was actually horrible and they would shoot me down every time. Maybe once a year they would give in to my endless begging. And they were right. It was disgusting. My mom opened up a baked potato once and it was literally blue/grey. My mom showed it to me and said “See what you’ve done?” And we still say that to each other because it was funny AF. But the visuals and the experience of the restaurant? Incredible.
It was a super popular birthday destination when I was a kid, and I remember loving the French onion soup, but the carpet smelled fuuuunky even back in the 90s 😅
That's actually sad as fuck; a place that cool should redirect some effort into serving adequate meals - not even amazing, just adequate. It would pay off big time.
@lucapiemonti9767 Literally- the concept is incredible. Hiring the write chef and making sure the ingredients are fresh would be, like, the minimum one could contribute to finalize this concept.
Man. This channel is incredible. I only found you a couple months ago so I've been binging your videos. The amount of respect and curiosity you have for other cultures, and new things in so refreshing. Your research and genuine interest makes your videos so easy to watch, and fun because I almost always learn something new. The way you are always so polite and seem to being truly enjoying what you do. Multiple of your videos have made me tear up with the amount of authenticity, willingness to learn something new. The fact that you give a spotlight to the owners and other people you encounter is heartwarming. When you interviewed the pit masters in your Texas BBQ video it was one of my favorite videos you've done. Not only because you did it at all but the excitement and be a part of it on your part was so cool. Especially on top of the fact that it was in an effort to correct the "Dickies BBQ isn't real Texas BBQ" Man, you & your channel rock. Keep it up & thanks for such awesome videos
🤩 I would love to own a themed restaurant where I display my collection of niche stuff. All the places are cool, but you can tell the passion of the lucha libre people. Love you encouraging people to go try new things at small businesses!
Thank you for dong research on Luchadores fron Guadalajara, so beautiful seeing that part of Mexico represented outside of just the food, love to see you looking and trying more Mexican restaurants, stablishments, etc, loved that part of the video as a Mexican myself!
Yes! A huge thank you to the restaurant owners and to all who are here in the US contributing to the greatness of her. I don't care what our current leadership claims; YOU and ALL other immigrants make this country great! Please know that many American-born citizens feel the same way: we love you for being here! So says this seventh-generation American whose great-great-great-great-great grandfather fought in the American Revolution. (But even his father was an immigrant.) Without immigrants, we wouldn't have a nation; we would still be governed by England (instead of Russia like we are now.)
@cristir3463 because this place seems very geared towards children or families and it would be funny for a group of adults to shout “spider kabam!” while stirring their magic potions.
Oh, gee, seeing Magic Time Machine trigged a bizarre flashback for me. My family went there as soon as it was opened in 1979 to celebrate my 13th birthday. We were seated at one of those curtained booths surrounding the MG "salad bar" car and were so absorbed in deciding what to order. All of the sudden, the big, fat, ugly, white rabbit slammed its paw on the table, and we jumped beejeves out of our seats due to the boom echoing within the booth. My father got incensed because he didn't appreciate this tactic. He told the rabbit he'd shoot him if he could bring a rifle with him. Then, the other waiter came by and told my father, "please do! We're sick of that rabbit!" That was our only visit there, and we recommended against that place. If you could travel to Colorado, you should try Casa Bonita in Lakewood (Denver area).
0:50 I mean, Aladdin may be public domain, but that logo definitely isn't. The specially Disney's Aladdin logo in that font is owned by Disney. I'm not sure how they go away with that
The copyright argument has a few flaws: 1. They use the Disney film’s logo and imagery for the cafe 2. The tale is actually set in China, not in the Middle East. Also they used AI for the menu’s photo which absolutely sucks Sidenote: Ft. Lauderdale has a diner themed to Disney’s Peter Pan but it apparently sucks.
Last time I was at the Magic Time Machine, Spider-Man led a group of people through the whole restaurant yelling “Code yellow! They have to pee!” It was hilarious. I love that place.
Was gonna say the same thing, but remembered unfortunatley he grew up in cancel culture, political correctness generation, they grow up ashamed to be their selfs and always worry about offending people.
There’s the My Little Pony Cafe in Thailand, and it is every MLP fan and unicorn lover’s dream. I’ve seen interior pics of the restaurant, and it looks magical and gorgeous! There a colorful unicorn statue out front by the front door, so you know you found it when you see the unicorn statue.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your channel, Dylan. Your food reviews are not only fun to watch but also educational and refreshingly original. In a time when so many creators chase clout through controversy or negativity, your content stands out for its positivity, kindness, and good vibes. Your genuine character really shines through every video. Your family should be proud of you for all the joy you bring to people around the world. Please stay the same kind, good-hearted person you are, and keep making us smile with your amazing work. 🙏🍽💫
Since you made mention of the cushions in the Turkish café and I might have missed it, but I didn't see anyone else explain it. In a bunch of middle eastern cultures people traditionally sat on cushions on the floor. I am assuming the cafe either does that per special order or switches out the tables and chairs later in the day.
My opinion for this restaurants: 1. The first place it would be a good place for the coffee, and if they have desserts, it would be a good spot for that. 2. The spooky place would be cool for like a bar night if they have alcoholic drink, there's a bar in Idaho with the same spooky theme. 3. Cool mexican spot that you want to go when you are craving good food. If they do boxing and lucha libre days, I see the potential, too 4. Reminds me of a Japanese theme restaurant, is more for show than the food, but if they acrually re-invente their menu, I can see a full experience, we just got a glimpse with the "spider Gwen spell" before Dylan had a sip of the drink
Magic Time Machine!!! The food has always been mid, but it's all about the kitsch. Also never ask Glenda the good witch if she's on duty where the bathroom is, or she will announce proudly there is a potty emergency and lead the way. XD
living in your area and seeing you visit these local places is so interesting. The Haunted Castle cafe is definitely a 50/50 shot, if they have more than a few tables in at once, the service and food are awful, and you’re sitting there waiting for an hour for food that’s not even warm. I think they need better management and they could really do great work.
My husband loves it when I watch this show. He calls it ‘eating with milshouse’, as in barts friends ftom the simpsons and now I can’t unsee it. We love him!
20:09 Kind of funny that you would never be going back there, but you brought your kid there four times? Someone probably got you a little mad…. I hated when people do their reviews like that.
This was great!! I live in Garland and while Im busy this weekend I will be looking into getting together with a friend or few and checking out Mask Aras as soon as humanly possible. Food looks amazing and can’t wait to try!
Dude, I'm a new subscriber from the UK and I don't know how to say this but there's just something about you; your videos just make me happy. Thanks for cheering an old man up.
I'm from Mexico and I watch your videos from here. I loved seeing the Maskaras restaurant that sells authentic Mexican food. Next time, I'll try the torta ahogada, which is also from Jalisco.
The “finger” in the drink is a cheap skull candy they sell at Halloween. I bought a big bag of them a couple years ago because I liked how they had like this soft almost liquid stuff inside.
This guy is genuinely a great bf, I've seen so many videos from his channel that is just him finding tasty, unique places to take his girlfriend to. what a chad. guys lets all treat our girlfriend.
This is a great video for me and my wife. We live in the DFW area and we're ALWAYS looking for new places to try. Maskaras looks amazing. And I've always wanted to try that style of coffee you had at Aladin's
I hope Pookie loved your choice. My sister said that the food was underseasoned since the Time Machine seems to cater to kids. Too bad it was bland because that pasta looked pretty good.
Thanks for watching these videos! Getting closer to 1M 👀❤
19 mins ago?
dylan do u respond to ur instagram dms?
@useantii maybe 🤷♂️
It’s so refreshing seeing creators with high audience traffic doing things like that for great restaurants that don’t necessarily have many customers
why wouldnt they anyway is my question???? imo if i was famous id be shouting EVERYONE out lol
@cigheart Exactly why you wouldn't get famous lol
@NxSBob. yeah no
@SuperCrazyWaffles uh yeah
@NxSBob. ???How did you get to that conclusion when cigheart said IF he was famous...meaning he would already have fame and then use it to give shoutouts....? critical thinking much?
I hope the Lucha place gets a business bump it looks so tasty!
I genuinely wish I lived close to it or any authentic Mexican places because the food looked SO GOOD
@6xeegod same I'm not even on the same continent 😭
@ThermonuclearTesshonestly I think my city found out how to be the worse possible because even though I’m in NYC I can’t find any good spots where I live💔
I've been to Maskaras and can attest it's really good. It was also slow, empty on the day that I went (a weekday afternoon). This was about 2 years ago.
@ThermonuclearTessI feel you and I believe I've never had good authentic Mexican food before. The restaurants we have don't do them justice
The Mexican place honestly looked like it had tasted the best given your reaction, and you ended up back there for your date! Perfect! 👌👌👌👌👌👌
I think every one of us watching would love to go visit the Lucha restaurant. I know I want to...
Mask Aras >>>>> The Magic Time Machine
I hate how youtube put this comment up without me even opening the comments and spoiled the video 😞
As soon as I saw him get a quesabirria i knew.
it's one of the best bites I've ever had.
Brother I'll say this you keep going to different Mexican spots you can mispronounce all the damn words you want... I appreciate you for showing and sharing a glimpse of the Mexican culture as well letting us know how truly just the food alone made an impact in your life!!! Thats awesome thanx
i'm def gonna try mask aras, it looked so good. thankful you're local to me because of this recommendation
Same! I love that he’s in DFW, because I’m semi-local. 2 hours away, but I go to Dallas all the time and I love having new places to check out thanks to Dylan!
Try it! The name is actually Maskaras (translates to Masks) as the theme 🙂 overall the food is delicious
Pro tip: The radishes are sides, we use them as palette cleansers and don’t put them inside of the tacos. Love that you picked the right music and took your gf to the lucha restaurant. Now it’s time to see it live!
i love the radishes on my trompo tacos, its nice and crunchy 🤣.
You are correct. Radishes are perfect as a little side with lime and salt. Although I don’t fault him for putting them inside de quesabirria 🤙
Spoiler alert
When in doubt, radish it out!
Spider Gwen obviously loves her job a lot, I wish we had more places where serving staff could be as honestly cheery as her. Wish the chefs put as much effort as her. Plus goddamn, that Mexican place looked so damn good.
Ghost Spider
That's her name
@WinterTck she's probably spiderverse movie specifically where she's known as spider-gwen specifically
@conniehedgehogno even then she refers to herself as Ghost Spider
Ghost Spider is super cool 🤩!
Spider Gwen is both my absolute nightmare and an absolute gem. Her energy was absolutely incredible, but boy oh boy I’d be embarrassed
Spider Gwen makes me horn knee
Yesssss I had second hand cringe for him but also wanted more of her cameo lol
When she guided him to the salad bar. That was great
she's a gem! it's just a bit embarrassing, probably, to go in there alone...like most restaurants... she did great and fun serving ritual. A lot of fun themed caffes in Japan do that all the time - the hand gestures, the singing or doing a 'spell' when they serve the food. So fun! :)
FR! People like her keep themed restaurants alive
Please please please please PLEASE try more Mexican and Middle-Eastern food; if you liked these two restaurants enough, it'll make you a fan for life. They're two rich tapestries of culinary delights.
Maskaras is not only unique in their theme but they're also one of the very few that serve Jalisco style food
That little interview with owner of maskaras brought a big grin to my face
I love sand coffee. Those turkish delight/lokum you had were probably rose flavored judging by the color. The Turkish breakfast set looks delicious.
THATS EXACTLY WHAT IT IS TY
the ai pic on the meniu in aladins cafe.... :(((
was about to say that def ai rip
Small business finding ways to use technology rather than using a Disney rip, is probably one of the better use of AI than many. The alternative probably wasn’t going to be to pay a designer, it was to google “Aladdin and Jasmine” images. I’d worry more about Disney not paying artists than a small cafe in Texas.
like gen how hard would it be to hire a real artist for ONE piece when they clearly had a budget for other stuff
@cigheartno body is like you people! No one looks where to hire people for digital purposes. Wtf do you mean hire. These are just normal people not terminally online people.
Glad people noticed that 😭Its just a red flag for me whenever I visit a resturaunt
I love that the lucha place ended up winning in the end, especially when you notice that it seems the LEAST decorated out of the four restaurants that you went to in this video. Goes to show that the actual food will always win over the aesthetic.
Damn the spoiler
next time please add a spoiler warning to your comment
it was the least decorated, BUT it had the most personality!!! there is love put into that restaurant!!
Give Spider Gwen a goddamn raise! That is energy she absolutely doesn't need to be putting in, but she did it anyway.
I had never felt so jealous of someone before in my entire life when I saw the look on your face when you tried those tacos. It is devastating to me that I don't live anywhere near you. So, I shall live vicariously through you and maybe one day actually go there. Mask Aras is now on my bucket list.
Remember... Every spiderman is canon lmao
Spider Gwen was the highlight of this video for me 😂 As someone who can’t handle attention in public like that, I think I’d make an exception 😂❤
@Sursie_Metzger
I think you're digital behavior on here alludes to contradictions in your statement ....Bundle up out there for public safety. ❤
I can't imagine working at the Magic Time Machine and having to wear those costumes all night, lol! I hope people tip them well, it actually looked like the menu prices were fairly cheap. I used to work across the street from there for several years, and I never gave the place much notice!

Reminds me of the old "Bobby McGee's" where the servers dressed up as various characters.
@lucapiemonti9767 Literally- the concept is incredible. Hiring the write chef and making sure the ingredients are fresh would be, like, the minimum one could contribute to finalize this concept.
@ifoldinhalfsoeasily As soon as you mentioned the carpet, I could smell it again. And that's really beautiful.

14:50 thank you for putting us on!! Definitely gonna try to hit up Mask Aras and Aladdin cafe!
The Spider-Gwen popping in and out of frame is killing me. This would be a blast with all of my (fully adult) friends.
why the distinction of saying they are fully adult? not judging just confused
@cristir3463 because this place seems very geared towards children or families and it would be funny for a group of adults to shout “spider kabam!” while stirring their magic potions.
Was thinking the same thing, itd be such a fun experience
We love supporting local businesses, Maskaras looks amazing!
Underrated RUclips channel I hope you continue your success to 1 million subscribers
900k subs = underrated 😂There is a reason why he's killin it. Great content!
17:01 Her smile is infectious 😊🫶

That was our only visit there, and we recommended against that place.
If you could travel to Colorado, you should try Casa Bonita in Lakewood (Denver area).
2:15, that image in the middle looks ai generated as heck
It def is. That's really sad to see
I’ve noticed older ppl love AI images, especially cartoon stuff. it’s possible the owners are older and think it’s the coolest thing ever :,(
Boohoo
Womp womp
Oh god the clanker haters
you can tell spider gwen really loves her job, good on her
I hope that Mexican place blows up because of your recomendations and you get free tacos for life.
0:50 I mean, Aladdin may be public domain, but that logo definitely isn't. The specially Disney's Aladdin logo in that font is owned by Disney. I'm not sure how they go away with that
iirc they did copyright jasmine the character too since they couldnt copyright aladdin
Middle eastern food is seriously slept on here in the states.
The copyright argument has a few flaws:
1. They use the Disney film’s logo and imagery for the cafe
2. The tale is actually set in China, not in the Middle East.
Also they used AI for the menu’s photo which absolutely sucks
Sidenote: Ft. Lauderdale has a diner themed to Disney’s Peter Pan but it apparently sucks.
It does not originate in China but rather is supposed to be set in China, as is written in the various introductions to the story.
Honestly refreshing to see an American being humble of what you don’t know, not condescending and respectful of other culture 😊
Aladdin's menu has AI slop on it XD
How to instantly make me give up on your Restaurant:
-Rude staff
-Weird Smells
-AI slop
"Good Enough for Pookie" should be a badge awarded from now on. Only the best places.
Great Pronunciation with the Mexican dishes , Saludos de Mexicooo !! c:
Not me catching this as soon as it was uploaded
righttt
Oo same I didn't even realise how early I was haha
Same!
Last time I was at the Magic Time Machine, Spider-Man led a group of people through the whole restaurant yelling “Code yellow! They have to pee!” It was hilarious. I love that place.
Dylan not gonna lie you are the only creator out there i always wait for to upload videos... keep growing
4:42 why are you apologizing? There is no wrong way to eat. You can make your own combo based on your taste 😅
Was gonna say the same thing, but remembered unfortunatley he grew up in cancel culture, political correctness generation, they grow up ashamed to be their selfs and always worry about offending people.
My goat has uploaded, time to heat up dinner for this banger
Spidergwen deserves a raise!
My only request is if you wouldn't mind pausing on the menu for a bit so we can check it out. 😊
I’m literally 11 mins away from the mask aras and didn’t even realize it 😂🤦🏾♂️. All the places is nomore than 25 mins away
Please give an update on Mask Aras! That place deserves the line out the door like you said
I live in Austin and the way you dropped that taco after taking one bite is enough for me to make the drive and try it myself.
Spidergwen needs a raise
In the time it takes you read this comment, JiDion gained 3 pounds
19:53 a table for the Marines.
I just wanted to say how much I appreciate your channel, Dylan. Your food reviews are not only fun to watch but also educational and refreshingly original. As a brit... if I'm in Dallas... I'm going to that luchador restaurant
My opinion for this restaurants:
If they do boxing and lucha libre days, I see the potential, too

As an arab u pronounced lebneh PERFECTLY and also put the cucumber olive and lebneh on pita bread❤❤
Magic Time Machine!!! The food has always been mid, but it's all about the kitsch. Also never ask Glenda the good witch if she's on duty where the bathroom is, or she will announce proudly there is a potty emergency and lead the way. XD
Maskaras needs more publicity that place looks amazing
Mexican here. MaskAras looks certified!!!
3:30 Flavor? It could be rose water which is often used with Turkish delights. Yep they are simple but tasty.
There was recently an episode on Tasting History about how they’re made 👍🏼👍🏼
My brother lives in Dallas. I am sending him to Mask Aras!
living in your area and seeing you visit these local places is so interesting. The Haunted Castle cafe is definitely a 50/50 shot, if they have more than a few tables in at once, the service and food are awful, and you’re sitting there waiting for an hour for food that’s not even warm. I think they need better management and they could really do great work.
Spider Gwen was super cool and fun. A little goofy but I get why kids would love it there . I’d have fun as an adult .
That luchador themed Mexican restaurant looked fantastic... And it sounded like the food was the best out of all of them too!
The story is public domain but the character designs aren't. You can see that the characters on the merch look like Disney's Aladdin.
HOW were you able to register the name Dylan when we all have to be lisa78934 😂
My husband loves it when I watch this show. He calls it ‘eating with milshouse’, as in barts friends ftom the simpsons and now I can’t unsee it. We love him!
Spider Gwen was a whole vibe!
to be honest as a middle eastern i am so happy that you have tried our breakfast :)
spider man looks so awesome sauce
Thanks for supporting a Mexican restaurant 🥹💖 times like we living it’s so nice to see other support us 🥺
Good authentic Mexican food is unbeatable. It’s the best food period and I’m white as sour cream.
facts
agreed
Watching someone bite into their first birria taco is so cool but they didn't have the soup for you to dip it in!
Man the Mexican restaurant looked banger.
I like how spider gwen saw you had a camera and put you in the most boring seatng area
love supporting small creators
@TehUltimateSnake its a joke
traveling to dallas for work in NOV i am def hitting up Maskaras, can't believe such a place escaped my eyes the other times I've traveled to Dallas!
20:09 Kind of funny that you would never be going back there, but you brought your kid there four times? Someone probably got you a little mad…. I hated when people do their reviews like that.
I live nowhere near Texas but man, I want to try Mask Aras so bad now. That birria looked incredible!
I really enjoy how you give a little bit of cultural context for places like the Mexican restaurant! Love your videos!
The Lucha Libre themed restaurant look absolutely good!
This was great!! I live in Garland and while Im busy this weekend I will be looking into getting together with a friend or few and checking out Mask Aras as soon as humanly possible. Food looks amazing and can’t wait to try!
woah. weren’t you like a roblox youtuber?! this series of food content is lowkey so engaging
Dude, I'm a new subscriber from the UK and I don't know how to say this but there's just something about you; your videos just make me happy. Thanks for cheering an old man up.
I think it's just his unfiltered enthusiasm and overall politeness. Sadly those traits are becoming rarer and rarer. 😅
I'm from Mexico and I watch your videos from here. I loved seeing the Maskaras restaurant that sells authentic Mexican food. Next time, I'll try the torta ahogada, which is also from Jalisco.
I'd have given the mexican spot the win too, the food looked ridiculously good and the theme is so cool!
The “finger” in the drink is a cheap skull candy they sell at Halloween. I bought a big bag of them a couple years ago because I liked how they had like this soft almost liquid stuff inside.
Was sitting here bored, and OMG it's a Dylan vid, made my day
You have to visit Casa Bonita in Denver
I've been a subscriber since you had 300K! Can't wait to see you hit 1 million! Love you, bro!
And I've always wanted to try that style of coffee you had at Aladin's
watching those tacos change your life is something I understand.
4:05 This is just called “Ordinary Turkish Breakfast” btw
Bruh it’s an ordinary Middle Eastern breakfast too
I hope Pookie loved your choice. My sister said that the food was underseasoned since the Time Machine seems to cater to kids. Too bad it was bland because that pasta looked pretty good.
Love how RUclips recommended this to me at the perfect time 🤭🤭
