    Hi guy,
    Why in your excel sheet for areas (downloaded web page) you use the area of aisc named "(Pa) Shape perimeter minus one flange surface (or short leg surface for a single angle), as used in Design Guide 19, in." and you don't use the area of the full perimeter "(Pb) Shape perimeter, as used in AISC Design Guide 19, in.? thank's

    Very Helpful - Thank you... Now do Columns!! I'm using the count tool for the columns and inputting the height manually... problem is I cant figure out how to get the WeightTotal to calculate the height parameter. Suggestions?

      I had the same issue so I did a "dummy" length measurement and gave it the correct subject heading to calculate the weight, then I just added the "count" to the new custom "Quantity" field

    Your custom columns are linked below in the show notes (for importing)? I had done all of this myself. But for some reason my custom columns cannot save to my profile. they always disappear when I open a new PDF... I'm not figuring it out how to keep them in my profile. If you have any suggestions it would be very appreciated.

      Can I assume you pressed the "Save to Profile" button?

    Thanks a lot. I used Bluebeam as a measuring tool to measure the length and area, but now I can find weight of steel as well.
    However I am having a problem with finding weight of plates. It keep using length to calculate the weight, not the area.
    Please let me know what to do if you can. I really appreciate your help.

      You'd need a value for plate thickness and then your custom column Formula would be Area * PlateThick*40.83 i.imgur.com/Ne15TuY.png

      @@SteelForum now it calculate both ways. One with using length and the other using sq ft. How can I tell Revu not calculate weight using length?

      @@SteelForum i think the problem is that Length measurement and Area measurement both have same column to to calculate the beam weight and plate weight.
      The beam weight just calculate only beam weight, but the plate weight calculate both beam weight and plate weight. Do you understand what I am trying to explain?
      First, I created columns to calculate the weight of W section in the Markups list. Now I added the columns to calculate the weight of plate in the marrkups list.
      Now the plate is trying to calculate both, weight using length and weight using area.

    Hello Nick. Following your instruction in this video I was able to get my 2018 version to calculate the beam weight once but it wont do it again. The drop down window for the select in the properties wont show the list again. What would be something to look for. Thank you

      You have to watch to make sure that the subject in the markup matches the material size. Then select it from the "size" dropdown.

    • @SteelForum
      @SteelForum  3 года назад

      The "Subject" needs to be a valid section size that you imported earlier and it's case sensitive. If that doesn't fix it drop me an email and we'll figure it out!

    Nick, I am not able to get the WeightFT to show. It just has "0" in that column.
    Do you happen to know what would be wrong?

    • @SteelForum
      @SteelForum  5 лет назад

      Hey Sean, WeightFt isn't used for anything you should be able to ignore it. It's a leftover from when I was figuring this all out myself.
