I saw her busking in London the other day, and I've never seen so many Londoners stop and listen for so long. I stayed for half an hour until my feet were freezing and I needed a wee but I couldn't tear myself away!! People smiling at each other and swaying and her giving everyone goosebumps.
she is winner for sure, ... one of a kind awesome singer only 19 years old wow
this is still one of my favorite performances on any version of The Voice

I am in awe of this woman I just viewed this video and she is beyond amazing. I haven't heard a better singer. Why is she not a SUPERSTAR?

Ruth is a vocal acrobat and she's completely mesmerizing. I love her singing! She makes every song she sings her own.
I love this women. Her voice takes you on a journey. It's almost spiritual. I feel like I'm on a unicorn flying through outer space when she sings.

I feel honored to have heard RUTH BROWN live, she performed in London a few months after The Voice Season 1. A great talent. Till this day I think she was robbed - by far the best voice in my opinion.

I’ve seen comments say about her not being trained enough. But Ruth brown is a natural singer her emotion says enough. You can hear her african ancestors in her their deep rooted pain she is a goddess.

That run at 1:29 was a little bit messy that's why Will made that face, but overall it was an amazing performance!
I'm no expert, I think she might have done two or three notes more than needed to reach a perfect octave, but as far as I can hear she did it close to perfect. I don't think Will made that face because he thought it was messy, have you seen the full version of this episode with the commentary of the judges? They all praise her for this perfect rendition. I believe Will made that face because he was impressed by her.
danhenricus In my opinion it was a tad bit messy, the run was out of control and she squealed by the end of it.
That horrible crash made this performance fun

it doesn't matter if she was off key or not, what matter is she made lot of people in that studio, at home and in heaven emotional. That what music is for. I wish she get her music career forward but I hope she keep in mind that emotion she give us with her voice. I know that it doesn't pay the bill but it does matter.
Mini version of Aretha Franklin. Love soul singers. She has it for me and is till this day one of the best from the voice season 1.

She is from another time. So much later will her vocal talents really be appreciated as original. Her phrasing and vocal control is unique. It does not follow convention. Its is indeed unpretentious and free. Sing diva unashamed as that voice soars in the rafters. However, most will be too much in a state of shock to appreciate what she you are doing. I am blessed to be here on the planet in the same time and space.
So proud that I go to the same school she did, we have a whole wall display dedicated to her in our music block! She has an incredible voice, she's the type that would put me to sleep each night just with her voice.
