  • A few art supplies came recently from Temu, so let's have an unboxing. This will be my last one from them for a long while! I need to use the supplies I already have on hand, before I buy more.
    I have an order coming from Amazon and I’ve promised myself that it’s the last order for a long while, perhaps of this year.

    Three things were definitely my fav. Have you ordered from Temu? What purchase were you the most happy in getting?
    This will probably be my last order from Temu, at least for a long while. Nothing wrong with company! Just need to use up what I already have.

    Great review! I’ve always been pleased w my Temu purchases. (So far😂) I will say I doubt Temu is gonna be the place to buy anything dependably archival. 😂😂 but… that being said, they are great for just everyday fun art.

    forgot to add, i love the cheap prices of materials from companies like this, but i wish they wouldn't use so much plastic, surely they could do better there considering the volume they must use.

    I don't know if you know or not, but on Temu they will give you a refund if the price goes lower. You go to your orders, order details, look for price adjustment. I will check every couple days. I have them do as a credit for future art hauls lol. You can only get it for 30 days though

    Temu ships from and is all made in China. That's why you see insanely cheap prices on things. Also because a large bit of it's knockoffs, where they've literally stolen other people's products and copied them cheaply and badly. (Card games, for instance, are ALL counterfeits. Every one of them. It's because a lot of people use Chinese printing companies and if they've got the files already, it's nothing for them to make a slightly smaller version on cheap cardstock with no instructions -- since they don't usually print those -- in a really flimsy box with fuzzy printing...and sell them to unsuspecting people in the US looking for $3 price tags.)
    I ordered three times from them. Once to find out about said card games (all six decks were fake, of course). Once because someone said "but the clothing's not bad" and I needed t-shirts (spoiler alert: it was bad. Horrible flimsy fabric with awful seams. I didn't know you could mess up a simple t-shirt that bad, but here we are), and once because I needed a bath mat and it was like a dollar.
    It had *ants*. Like, actual ants. I didn't notice until a few hours later, when they were all over my bathroom. (It was definitely the bath mat, btw. There were some dead ones in the bag, which I assume died en route.)
    Ants. ::shudder::
    I already had a personal rule to never buy anything from a Facebook ad (sooooo muuuch fraud...), and now, I won't buy a single thing from Temu, either. Even at the deeply discounted prices, it's not worth it.

      Yep, I’ve received things I’m pretty sure are knockoffs, and customer service for “affiliates” leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe I need to do a video.

      I don’t know, the clothes that I have bought have been good quality. Along with the Kcup refillable filters. I’d looked all over for ones that I could afford AND that my kurig would accept. I bought one from the kurig store and it wouldn’t work. I tried to get my money back.. nope Kurig said no refund. Meanwhile I got the filters from TEMU and they work.
      So I don’t know what happened for you.

    • @conifercrow
      @conifercrow Год назад

      @@christyparr1563 What happened is I didn't order the things that we get here that are made cheaply in China anyway. I got some sponges that were fine, and some cheap goo that cleans out your vents in the car that was also fine.
      But that doesn't zero out the fact that they're selling counterfeits and screwing artists out of money/credit. Or that the bath mat had ants, which I'm still dealing with.
      It's not worth the price tag to support this kind of nonsense.

      I haven't had any problems so far with the things I've gotten through them. I have mostly shopped for nail products. The eye shadow pallet I had gotten wasn't bad either. I also do a lot of coloring with gel pens way cheaper than a regular retail store for sure.

    What do you use the oil pastels for and how do you use them?

    • @dianedobsonbartonart
      @dianedobsonbartonart  Год назад

      That’s a tough one to answer here, as entire books are written on the subject. They are a drawing/painting medium artists use in a number of ways. I have a few videos on this channel demonstrating how I myself choose to use them.

    I some kind of sorely tempted. But I fear for those prices some kind of forced labor has to be involved somewhere.
