I dont have salt on my chips, just vinegar but when they ask and you say "just vinegar" they've already gone into autopilot and have the salt shaker in their hands as they ask and you get salt on the chips - yuk! so they have to throw them away and start again - so always vinegar first AND last! another good video Charlie!
Lol yep I see that happen aswell. I havnt had chip shop chips for a while but I normally ask to do it myself. They can be a little mean with their salt and vinegar lol
I'm going to pickup 2002 ish V Rod Harley to flip, sit in storage for years. Someone's midlife crisis Charlie lol, I've researched a few parts & it's been sitting with all liquids, your a motorcycle mechanic & you know the story on that one 💯👍
Regarding the cleaning, a handful of small nuts and bolts ( counted of course so you know that they are all taken out ) put in the tank and then shaken should loosen any stuck on rust . Then flush out any sediment . I don't suppose that the ethanol in the fuel absorbing moisture helps .
I'm on my second flush now today. It flash rusted very quickly because I didn't do enough and dry it properly. Do another 24 hour vinegar soak but this times rinsed and dried first
I do like a salty chip. But it's vinegar for me then salt so it sticks lol. I think I got chips when this vid was made, but hadn't had them for years the same as you.
@@motorcyclerescuer slowly but managed to get it on centre stand. turns over with a new battery. Am fitting better handle bars and will need to replace the chain. Am going to test compression when I get a proper set of sockets to remove plugs. I have been slowly adding tools so can also work on 50cc dirt bike and Quadzilla 100cc was given (how's that for luck!).
still looks like Iron Brew lol I don't think that salt and vinegar has been an issue for me, but I do notice and enjoy a salt saturation for the top layer of chips on occassions
🤐🤐 so you like a salty taste in your mouth...you've been alone with Sultan too long. Agreed that is the correct procedures for rusty sludged up tanks.....nice work & well demonstrated.
Nice upload mate. Looking forwards to seeing if that has sorted it.
On my second flush today funny enough. It was thick with rust.

Top job Charlie unbelievable how the bike run with all the rubbish in the tank looking forward to next video.
It ran so well today Colin, plus I put the straight pipes on lol. Will see on the next vid or 2.
Love the salt an vinegar chat lol
Lol I remember that conversation

Wow that was one of my favourite bikes when they came out. In fact that's what inspired me to get my current Harley.

It's worth taking the shaft off to clean and grease the cogs/splines. Mine was really mucky and dry.
I've never done that before so will take a look.
Cheers
Sooo funny 😂😂😂
TBH viniger first then salt 😜👍
See, yet we call it salt and vinegar. And alot of shops so that way round.
Tank was bad . Hopefully will run alot better now
I've actually pulled it again today and put more vinegar in. I hadn't done long enough and it flash rusted fairly quickly.
Good ones
Cheers buddy
Since you ask salt and only salt as I hate vinegar. Not that I remember the last time I had chips from a chip shop. A good six years at least.
I do like a salty chip. But it's vinegar for me then salt so it sticks lol.

vinegar then salt etc. always. Just been outside earlier tinkering on my bike, Suzuki gs500e and IT's COLD so why aren't you guys freezing?
I've not felt too cold yet. I have a great jacket. Some days in the winter get me but not many.
How's the gs500 going?

Sounds great. Well hopefully you enjoy your projects. I always enjoy doing mine.
Vinegar last will just knock the salt off! Salt last always 😁
Exactly, so it sticks. Great answer.
1 Year on and its still Vinegar on first.... always has been, always will be.
Exactly. Then the salt sticks to it.
still looks like Iron Brew lol

Trust me you will think twice from now on. Go vinegar then salt next time. It will change your world lol
i want to remove the tank and just use the dummy tank idk if that would work tho
You can use a dummy tank for testing purposes, but you need an mot approved one otherwise.
👍
salt then vinegar so the salt works down to the bottom of the chips
Then salt on top 😁
Fun Fact: I have the same garden chair.
Fun Fact 2.0: im sitting on it
They are fun facts lol

A little salt never hurt anyone lol
Perhaps the vinegar dissolves the salt spreading the flavour more, but then again maybe not🤔
The vinegar washes the salt away. The shops that do salt and vinegar in that order should be closed lol
@@motorcyclerescuer it's a job for the vinegar and salt police lol
100% vinegar first!
Exactly, yet lots of places do salt first. The world is in trouble mate lol
How can you call anyone stupid when you can’t even say vinegar properly
I'm sure your perfect at everything mate. How's your channel doing? Oh you haven't got one. Don't have the skills maybe.
