My head's devoid of hair. I'm a tongue blocking harmonica player as well, so I'm siding with the great Kim Wilson every time. He's the best player of this genre living today.
You all seem to forget one of the greatest out there..Rod Piazza....Kim is a great player as well, but for my money and sheer innovation, No one can touch Rods playing.
Yeah, old bald white guys. We were the folks who kept this music going back in the '60s. Rick Estrin isn't bald, just has a high forehead... -L- Those early T-birds records are as cool today as they were 30 years ago. FWIW, I don't compare musicians, don't compare myself to anyone else either. Everyone is telling their own story. Kim has a lot of chapters in his...
@BluesFactor Why can't you just enjoy the music instead of passing judgement? You must be British... As far as John Popper, I've never heard of him, meaning he may be great but he has had zip influence on the music scene over the last 35 years unlike Kim, Rick, Charlie and a few others...
the best is charlie musselwhite, absolutely no question. all popper does is blow a lot of high notes real fast. Kim Wilson is far better. But not as good as charlie.
Kim is a beast on harp. Popper bores me to tears.
Fabulous, rough and ready, live and full of life, sittin' down I just don't get, but cool all the same, Rock on!
not bad, Kim......you sure know how to rock.....music for our ears.....
This needs more likes
Enjoyed that thoroughly. Ace player.

Like this version. Great performance with guitar only backing.
See ya's in Sydney...7th April 2012..yee haaa!!!!!!!!!!
wow...
just wow..
I hate when some one says some guy is the best because there are so many great players at least a hand full but with that said Kim Is the best
SWEET!
Kim is using an early 50's Astatic with a 101 crystal element.
does anyone know what amplifier is he using??, the mic looks like a bluesblaster, the sound he gets out of it, it's just perfect
From what I’ve read on Kim he usually uses a Fender Bassman
this is the shit folks
using C harp and G Blues Scale
troy gonyea
the balance is dreadfull but great musicianship is there for all to see. Fingerstyle tele playing is smokin nicely
Yeah, there's not too much balance to talk about... :)
Kim seems to be a bit tired, the other videos from this session are great.
I'm guessing a Twin Reverb

hardly.. the best.. Very good tho..
