Because The Chamelons aren't someone you just "happen to come across" randomly..it requires a person already into divine music such as them. Anyone who knows them, loves them. ;)
Yep, in my case the frontman of my favourite band said how great and underappreciated The Chameleons are. Now I have two favourite bands.

@@GamesWithBrainz Alcest. They aren't post-punk, they combine elements of shoegaze and atmospheric black metal. Their common thread with The Chameleons is amazing guitar-driven atmosphere and melody. I'd say Écailles de Lune is their best album (yes, they are French).
@@mangoman2148 just listened to "sapphire" totally hear a bit of chameleons in the guitar. I was a little wary because I haven't heard a ton/ don't like a lot of metal/black metal, but yeah it's pretty good. I'll listen to some stuff from the album you recommended!

Greatest performer for me. Just my most favorite singer. top 5 in the early 80s but became my favorite singer around 1988. I love different rock music. I love RUSH which is completely different from this which I guess is considered Post Punk but This, Echo and the Bunnymen, The Jam, Romeo Void... just so many bands I really like. and RUSH as a different form of rock. I like Motown too. I like this band because Im a big Beatles fan and you can hear the influence. And of course I love TheCARS

Monkeyland is about people in Middleton. Lol. The Chameleons are another in a long line of quality bands from my hometown of Manchester... Music capital of this planet! MCFC M20

Both Reg and Dave left The Chameleons some ten years ago.
Out of respect for the movement that was The Chameleons, Mark initiated a new line-up and changed the name to Chameleons VOX - "the voice of The Chameleons"

Why isn't Mark playing the bass?
Amazing performance, but too bad Mark doesn't have that epic voice anymore.
I think he's got it, he's just mellowed with age and it's not what we're used to hearing with the Chameleons. Also, his work since the 2000's - he seems to be singing about an octave higher, which gives him a softer sound.
