4:48 petanque and bocce are very similar, but very different at the same time. In France, and especially in Brittany, we have the Breton puck or Breton shuffleboard, which has the same rules as petanque but on a board and with pucks lol. you should try it !
about the pressing the steering buttons with no-steer on: I believe pressing buttons (accelerate, brake or directions) does affect the car state slightly regardless of the effects applied. Not enough to meaningfully change the trajectory but enough to change the outcome of some ambiguous situations (hitting a plastic corner for example, you can slightly change the bouncing angle or how fast the car spins). use this cursed trackmania knowledge wisely
In Australia we have Lawn Bowls which is essentially the same game. There are entire clubs built around it and the beers are cheap. Can make for a fun day out.
I'll comment now since the video was uploaded recently. I'd like the chat to explain me what's the context of the mayonnaise meme. I've been following Wirtual for a while, but not consistently enough to know. I'd love to, though.
it's pretty self explanatory, chat wants him to slide on mayo. no need to look for greater meaning in the hive mind. can't help on the exact stream origin of it
Unfortunately there really isn't a lot of context to it 😂 the people in here just randomly made that comment once for no particular reason (as a donation if i remeber correct) and everyone just agreed that he should indeed slide around in mayonnais. And as he picked up that topic instead of ignoring it, since then everyone just keeps on going with it xD
@@SinclairWest thank you for the backstory, albeit small it's still something ahahah. I tought it might have been related to one of his questionable food takes, but it's even funnier if it's totally random

Hey man, just wanted to let you know I had probably the worst day of my life today and then I hopped on yt and this made my day that little bit better. Thank you.
I'm starting to believe you can travel through the world and find a variation of the word "pétanque" anywhere, at least regionally (even Cambodia but it makes sense as it was in the French sphere of influence). Yet it was only invented about 120 years ago as a contraction for "pieds tanqués" or feet tanked if that makes sense, as in feet restricted to a zone. So many other games are similar and existed before but seeing that this one spread so much is fascinating.
I commented about the bool/Bocce ball similarities, but you answered my question in the next few seconds. I deleted the comment, so I figure I owe you a new one. I've never played Trackmania (although I certainly would in the right circumstances) and I don't really yearn for Trackmania content, but I never have trouble watching your videos. Cheers and thanks man . Btw, as far as the Scandinavian Scuffle is concerned, this American says Sweden #1 every day and twice on Sundays qB)
@wirtualtv the game u are saying is Petanca. Is from Spain and It's a really old game. In the past a lot of people played it but right now is a culture game and only old people plays it.
Fun fact? "Irregardless is not an actual word." is the most often used phrase including irregardless. So at this point.... every single denial only makes the case stronger for its inclusion in the dictionary, despite the definition continueing to mean 'regardless'
I know Wirtual lives in Sweden and Im sure his editor also lives in Europe, but somehow the curling clip they used at the beginning is from a place in Decatur, AL, USA. About an hour from me lmao.
Does that include the checkpoint he's on? With how he's moving it seems like he'd just fall back down the ramp but I don't play so I wouldn't know Actually looking at it again theres a gap in the middle too so even if he did make it over the ramp he'd still fall if he's in the centre
You can't air control because you have icy tires has to be the best logic in the game.
This game has some alternate universe physics
Isn't it because of the no-steer?
Edit: Ah, that kind of air control. That's funny
Wait until you hear about wet tires 😂
Wirtual pressing the steering buttons is like leaning to the left or right when watching your bowling ball go down the lane
Or like Wirtual leaning to the left or right when turning in TM
@@cheat200 Lots of people do that in racing games. It helps. ;)
