It's gorgeous. The vibrato in her voice when she sings "a silkie on the sea" gives me goose bumps. I've played this every day since it dropped. Can't wait for the album.
@@justabloke5592 My favourite track off the first album is "Desert Flower". It's hauntingly beautiful, especially when the strings come in. Tuomas is definitely a great composer.
That’s what you expect from Tuomas those change ups. He never has boring songs. You keep on expecting something different as he never disappoints and what can you say about Troy with the pipes just magnificent and Johanna Kurkela’s beautiful vocals. Just great. ❤️🤘🇦🇺
This song was written by Troy, and has arrangements by Tuomas and Johanna, the instrumental part, the same, the basic composition is by Troy but with many arrangements by Tuomas, all this was told by Tuomas himself in an interview.
This song is a grower. First time listening: mmm, it's ok. After multiple listens... Love it and the CD is ordered... Shipment in September, a long wait...
Such a beautiful song. Songs like this make me forget about anything bad happening in the world. It makes me feel appreciative of everything good in the world. Wow, what a masterpiece!
A Celtic Folk song with beautiful music, lyrics & vocals. We have been introduced to new musical worlds from Tuomas H. 🙏 Magical! 💜 You both genuinely enjoyed this. 😊
I adored this song and got chills so many times. The backing vocals coming in at the start; the sudden 'darker' part in the middle, and especially when Troy's guitar started wailing out in the final section. Such a masterpiece! They've set such a high standard for this album and I'm really excited to hear the rest.
Hi Ree, I revisited this reaction tonight..Its 10 months later and I seen your comment here too. It gave me such a nice feeling knowing that we would cross paths in time :)
This song has Tuomas written all over it - Lightwish! Regarding vocals. This is what Laura Vilander said in her comment: "I thought that it was Troy doing the male vocals, but it was Tuomas." In the descriptions about vocals: Johanna - voices Tuomas - backing voices Troy - voices Why 'voices' and not 'vocals'! (Kai on drums I've been told.) I have to say it did not sound like Troy. So Tuomas has eaten his words about singing: "Never again!". That is what he said after the first Nightwish album in 1997. If you have not heard Tuomas sing, (with Tarja), listen to the Nightwish song "The Carpenter". I do not think Tuomas is going to do main vocals for Auri (or for anyone else), only those backing 'voices'. Funny thing. On the Nightwish channel about The Carpenter: Tuomas keyboards, Tarja vocals, and no mention about Tuomas' vocals. Well, he is not as good as a singer, as he is as a songwriter. The first album was demo quality in general.
Nice. I wonder if someone drew some inspiration from the works of Ayreon for this. Alas, to me, this doesn't even approach the bar set by Arjen Lucassen and Anneke van Giersbergen with their 'Gentle Storm' double album project, both musically and vocally. Check their acoustic 'gentle' version of 'Endless Sea' at Linea Rock for instance, or the band 'storm' version of 'The Storm' performed at Masters of Rock. For a different journey, check 'Travel' by The Gathering performed during their TG25 concerts. I surely hope that is still somewhere on your to-check-list anyway and there will come a day that you guys will check out that legendary TG/Anneke performance. I also mentioned the 'A Sound Relief' concert already, for quite a different atmospheric, melodic trip rock journey. If you really dig this type of music / story telling, maybe checking out 90s legends Dead Can Dance may be interesting for you as well. And what about present day legends Heilung? They can take you to some very unexpected journeys.
Oh, this is too good a segway to miss! I would love for you to check out "Hunting For Pearls" by Iamamiwhoami (easier to read: I am. Am I? Who am I?), the band of Ionnalee who you recently watched singing "Dunes Of Sand" in a church. Beautiful song, beautiful video! It's right here: ruclips.net/video/SJxXYHQIF40/видео.html

Auri is fantastic. Love Johanna's magical voice.
This huge shipload of love our Tuomas wears within his soul......
But this one is written by Troy.
This is hauntigly beautiful Celtic sea shanty (a kind of). Johanna's voice is so angelic. 😎⚓👍

Troy played the bouzouki (at the beginning), low whistle and guitar on this one. His guitar work is absolutely magical!
Right.

Had the very same experience. First listen "yeah nice". Now I get the goosebumps and tears from it. Now, let's repeat that with The Valley :-D
“Anchor away” 😱 just gives me chills every time! So beautiful ❤️
Such a beautiful song. Songs like this make me forget about anything bad happening in the world. It makes me feel appreciative of everything good in the world. Wow, what a masterpiece!
Already got the album pre-ordered. You're only the second channel to react to this, after my dear friend Tauri Reacts. 🤘💜
I’m surprised! It was sooo good, tho ❤️ - G
Mee too! So excited :D
I was blown away too! It's soo magical! I had tears in my eyes in the end. It was a powerful
experience.
Really, really nice. Such a good song.
Loved it guys. Hard not to love anything they do.
*By the way, on "Those We Don't Speak Of", the second album by AURI, another Nightwish member is featured: Kai Hahto.*

They've just dropped the 2nd single, and it's absolutely gorgeous too.

But it's written by Troy. He wrote songs 3,4 and 6 according to their IG page. The rest is by either Tuomas or Johanna.
The break in the middle of the song is what's called a "scherzo" in classical music. Great review! It was my first listen too!
I highly recommend that you listen to Johanna Kurkela singing ”Kuolevainen” in her native finnish.
This is a Troy song, by his pen and his imagination.
Great video guys! Random, but I was just listening to "Dot in the Sky" by a band called Drab Majesty and I know you guys would love it....😁
Such a beautiful song and her beautiful voice to match. So you know, Within Temptation just released a single today, ' Shed my Skin. It is pretty good
