      Win 7, 32 bit... I have win 10 on another laptop, that laptop has AVDI and VW ODIS on it... When WIN 10 updated, it changed the machine ID, which usually only happens when you change a hard drive... When the machine ID changed, my ODIS subscription quit working... after 3 hours on the phone with ODIS support ( these people are great) we decided I needed to reinstall.. I did, but had the same issue... I finally figured out when I ran the request machine ID applet from VW that the machine ID had changed... I called back and the tech support couldn't believe that had happened... A month later we all got emails about what was happening, and to ask for a new certificate.... I called Microsquish and asked them how I could stop WIN 10 from updating and costing me lost time and money... The tech support stated that WIN 10 is not an operating system, it is a service.. and we will update it when we feel it needs updating.... I am converting all my laptops back to WIN 7.... Just a note, have you seen how Microsquish OFFICE is now Office 365???? That way they can make you pay yearly fees... Win 10 is going to be the same...

    Thank you for the time and overview. I am working on a mini cooper key fob. I bought VVDI-prog and Tango. I was able to virginize a key to add to another car. Using Tango, I wrote the new key and was able to start the car, BUT the issue I'm having is the remote isn't locking/unlocking the car!!! What am I missing? thank you for any help you provide.

      we have had issues with virginized keys.... if the file you wrote to the key isn't exactly right for the key, the remote won't work... we had one file that kept writing the remote as a 433mhz... and we are 315mhz here... i would buy a chinese key and program it in.. if that doesn't work, check for errors on the antenna circuits..

      @@timtracy9442 Moving to virginized oem keys was because I couldn't get the Chinese keys remote function to work either. VVDI came with BMW key renewing files. I know that Mini and BMW probably use the same base file, but I cannot find anything specific for MINI.

      @@minitobe8525 soooo, have you scanned the data for the antennas???

      @@timtracy9442 not sure how to do that. i found a website that has the base eeprom and rom files for the fobs. I'll try to load those in the key and give it another try.

      @@minitobe8525 what are you using to program the fobs to the car??? doesn't VVDI have any diagnostic abilities?? I thought it was a clone of AVDI... AVDI you just select the module and look at real values....

    can abrites unlock used keys

    • @timtracy9442
      @timtracy9442  8 лет назад +1

      the only way that Abrites can unlock used keys is when you have the data from the CAS module the key was programmed to. If you have a CAS 3+ that you have programmed a chip into position 8, you can remove the key from the CAS memory and virgin the chip in the key. Alot of the remote keys, when they are programmed with the tag key tool or protag, can be removed from the CAS memory, but the key remains locked to the car....
