For me it is because the pith tastes bitter and I don't like the texture - I happen to be a supertaster and that may be why I find it sour but I'm not talking about taking the piss off of oranges when there is a little left I want to know how to take the pit off of oranges that doesn't take as long as scraping it with my fingernails - when I get oranges that after I have peeled them are white dot-dot-dot like completely white not a bit of white here and there!
I have not seen a recipe that calls for oranges in any other way except for segmented which is different than this so your recipe intrigues me? I also wonder if the white spots you see on canned Mandarin oranges - which I have not seen and have not purchase ever, but I had a mandarin orange that looked like it potentially had a worm crawl into it and I wondered if that was possible like it is with apples - and instead larva can be made into oranges but worms and things don't survive the citrus so it says you can go ahead and eat them because the citric acid kills anything else that tries to get into it.... things that make you go hmm I guess?
How would you suggest to get the white crap off that would be faster than scratching the whole Orange sometimes - other times there's not a ton of pith after I peeled the orange, but for those annoying times when my peeled orange is white - I would like suggestions rather than your opinion on what he did with the orange?
Also I have not tried either at this time but other suggestions on getting the pith off an orange that I have found have you boil it for 5 minutes in the peel and that seems like it would destroy the orange to me which is why I continued looking - I don't want to eat a cooked orange at this time and it's summer so it's too hot to boil oranges for nothing more than an experiment to see if it works better on pith but it also wouldn't really solve my issue which is that I'd like to eat oranges in bed and I'm not going to boil and peel oranges so they're no longer in their natural wrapper and need stored differently...

Orange fetish? In my experience that loses a lot of juice and some people don't want their oranges to be segmented where you lose a ton of juice- so just like everything else in this world different strokes for different folks...

The pith on oranges ruined my childhood, biting into a juicy orange and tasting that skin texture, mixed feelings, lol thank you.
That is a greatly helpful video!

I can't trust anything this man says. He cut right through the sticker like the monster he is!
Because stickers are so important to the Taste the flavor and texture of the orange? Particularly since it was removed??

Did you wash the orange??? That's important. That's not as good as supreming an orange.
That loses a ton of the orange juice and it is personal opinion if people like pith or if it bothers them...
Feed the pith and peel to prisoners, it will help them become better people.
Ur a dick
Takes far too long, and you should never cut towards you with a knife.
Don't forget to never run with scissors and always tie your shoes!
Can you do a video on peeling apples? That would be appreciated. :^)

Wait, who the heck peels oranges?
Eh, you're gonna wanna look at Jaques Pepin's method.
This isn't very good advice. Look up videos on sectioning oranges to get a better result much more quickly.
