  • In this video I get some Camellia cuttings from a neighbors house. It is potentially a new variety. Only time will tell. You can ask any neighbor for a few cuttings off a plant. Most people have no problem with it. Propagation Supplies - amzn.to/3lNTQ59

I so needed this today. Long story short, my dad entered eternal rest Saturday night. My last face to face conversation with him a week prior was how he wanted me to create a moon garden in his honor- "all white flowers only Eleanor" he said. And he said I'd better not steal any of the plants! My first dabble in gardening was at the young age of 18- I still lived in Guam then, and plants were expensive! 3" pots could start at $4 (this was over 20 years ago). I would drive around at night to the various resorts to "steal" cuttings to propagate so I could create a beautiful garden for my parents' new house. Funny how my dad remembered that even with brain cancer in the center of his memory lobe. I have not stolen any cuttings since those days BTW :)

I took pyracantha and ficus cuttings off a city plant where I jog at night (on a busy main road/street) about 4 months ago.
Always wanted to take cuttings, but of course never have pruners during jogs lol. Finally got the courage and ended up just ripping/breaking off a few small twigs at the end of my jog. I must’ve looked funny jogging with branches in my hands tho.
All the ficus cuttings turned black. But, 3/5 pyracantha cuttings are still heathy and growing after 4 months now.
I also noticed some nice purple camellias at the entrance of a city park. Very tempting, lol.

I got some camellia cuttings from a bush my neighbor. I've had the cuttings for a year now and they have done nothing. I had one in water and it seemed to try to start rooting but it callused over? The other two don't seem to be doing anything in the soil mix either. All f the cuttings have leaves still, the one in water has these little tiny buds on it.
I'm just stumped on what they are doing.. cause they aren't growing but they aren't wilting and dying either.
