In today's USMLE Q&A Challenge, we're going to dive into Genetics Pedigree analysis. One of the easiest ways to get a couple of easy points on your USMLE Step 1 exam is to be able to quickly and efficiently identify the inheritance patterns described through a pedigree. While you go through today's video, pay attention to how the questions are asked (ie. 1st. Identify the inheritance pattern, 2nd. Recognize the disease/disorder that meets that criteria). If you can answer all of today's questions correctly, you're well on your way to a solid score in the genetics component of your Step 1 exam.
Please correct me if I'm wrong: For the question with the answer Leber's hereditary optic neuropathy, I think the pedigree could also be Autosomal Dominant or X-linked Recessive
Hello Dr.Paul! Will you make a video on musculoskeletal & CNS if possible? I feel those were the most confusing topics for every student. Would love to see more videos. 🥰🥰
Thanks 😊 Could you plz tell me how competitive is orthopedics for an IMG,is it possible and average score and number of months of usce required to improve my cv plzz Can research in my country help me to match??
It is highly competitive even for US grads, and very rare for IMGs. That’s not to say impossible, but you’d need exceptional scores and an outstanding CV/resume to have a chance.
