I have 627k power, a5 scythe and a6 longsword and I cant do it... It seems just like for the boss fights I need well over 10-20k more power then the base power it recommends in this case (650k power) ill need to somehow get up to 660k to 680k to beat him....

@@connork1657 A10 Plum and Scythe!? HOLY Bloody hell... All I do is go for the full Curse, Break, and Blessing gear. Most of the time unless the main stat is in Attack % or Additional Attack, use HP % (granted you don't have a choice with some things like chest armor and necklace... but until you do. (Still farming and grinding myself-ITS HARD) and then makes sure the rest of the stats follow what the hunters main attributes are and place it with them. Sometimes its good to unlink everything and place the best things on your best hunters. Ive done this twice and each time I did I saw a difference in the power output..
