I saw this live over the summer. I was sweating bullets during this part. Watching it now on my computer, i am starting to sweat. This scares the shit out of me! But it's amazing. Cirque Du Soleil amazes me to no end.
Just saw this show yesterday. I liked it. Was a bit scared for a moment though. The climax jump rope scene, the guys feet got tangled, then tangled again and he fell. But recovered on the next loop and crowed cheered him on. What great showmanship.
I just saw this 5 days ago and the bartender was telling me the skipping guy is 60, and the other dude spinning it is his younger 50 year old brother. Apparently the 60 year old guy is trying to get his brother to take over, but his brother isn't that crazy.
I guess when they were rehearsing before the show opened he fell and broke his back or something which delayed the shows opening by about 8 months. He knows if he falls he'll likely die, but it's doing something he loves.
i saw this is 2 days ago in MGM Grand in Vegas. It was totally worth the money!
Saw this show in Vegas 5 nights ago. UNFREAKING REAL!! Best show we saw. Very well done. Loved the music. Now I want to see more Cirque shows.
Magnificent...just got to see for the first time and blown away....nothing will be the same..excellent
This part was awwwwesome. When I watched (back when the show first premiered, wow) the guy managed to jump through the rope like 7 times in one single jump! It was amazing.
Saw this live around New Years. This part was the highlight of the show.
forward this to about 4 min in. PS these guys are in their 50's! its very impressive!
saw this last night, omg just amazing one of the best cirque shows ive seen
I remember while watching this thinking to myself (as they were just jumping on the INSIDE of the cages) "wait... they don't have harnesses on, do they?" little did I know what was to come, I agree that this was the highlight of the show.. All I could think as they were doing it was (to be blunt) "Fuck...that." hahaha.. super impressive.
MELHOR CIRCO DE TODOS OS TEMPOS, COM CERTEZA ESSE SIM VAI FICAR PRA HISTÓRIA !
Wheel of death is always impressive
This is an amazing show, directed by one of the most talented film directors in Quebec (Canada): Robert Lepage. Check out his movies.
Also, when watching the show, remember that the acrobats are underpaid, work for very long hours very hard with few real advantages (two weeks of vacation per year).
Awesome! But even better when you are there!
I was looking through my fingers, sweating, and praying not to witness the death of a performer during this whole scene
Sabú, Francisco y Octavio Alegría, Dios me concedio el honor trabajar para ustedes "Alegría Brothers Circus", gracias por su sencillez y su asombroso espéctaculo.... ¡Arriba México Señores¡
would like to go back and see that once more...cool
Thanks for replying... I only know of the "making of KA" DVD..SO I will look around THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I wonder if Francisco and Sabu Alegria still perform in Ka, because I have seen them do this act twice.
saw it a month ago, same two guys doing wheel of death. Most of the actors are the same as far as i can tell with exception of the chief and the yellow tribesman (now tribeswoman)
What's always delighted me about this show and this scene in particular is that there's a narrative reason for the acrobatic trick. The Wheel of Death here isn't just a showy and risky set-piece; in-story, it's meant to be a machine, an industrial piece of equipment powered by slaves, so we're supposed to feel uncomfortable about watching it. The show 'OVO' (2000) had a similar storyline element in the form of a tower. CDS should do more narrative shows, it's better for audience engagement.
it's funny when you realize that all it is is a just a giant wheat grinder.
best show ever or what?
holly crap im booking right now!
Very well done, but theres so much going on, its not as well highlighted as it was in Kooza.
I saw it and they did this. FUCKING AMAZING!
That's one cool guitar :P
What the name of the guitar song? I can't find it on the Ka soundtrack. :(
This is unreal
😧😧🙉
watched another video of the death wheel, the guy almost fell off at the top;
therefore during this one i was sweating bullets >.
An awesome wheel act in a sandwich of "what the heck is going on?"
@HaldamirElensar No, they're not. Sabú is a brother of the Varekai juggler, Octavio Alegría
Someone knows if these artists are the same of the Kooza spectacle Wheel of death?
Beacause i think Sabú Alegría is one of them but i'm not sure =S
@Deadgehog Its beacouse this musci is played live- under the stage (saw it at really big things)
That was so strange.....
The showing I saw the guy almost fell
Is there a COMPLETE DVD for this Production???
@HaldamirElensar Son Sabú y Francisco Alegría y efectivamente también hermanos de Octavio
1:18-1:22 you can see Miro trying to fix his wig
theres definitely some occult influences in this company.
How do you mean? Fwiw this scene is this show is about a villain whom the audience are meant and encouraged to find despicable for his abuses of human life, so am not sure it really applies in this case.
I wouldn't say best show ever by any stretch. I think la Reve (spelled right?) and O are better IMO but still worth 125 150 though. Seats at that price are back a bit but you can still see well enough.
i that that guy with the jump rope almost died at 5:03
@anilj1881 Couldn't agree with you more!!
What music is playing? This IS NOT in the CD I purchased in the gift shop after the show.
The soundtrack on streaming platforms doesn't seem to have this cue either! Annoying, the electric guitar/industrial rock work in this score is the highlight imo.
It was pretty intense, and also completely set the tone for the drama happening right in front of us.
La Reve isn't actually Cirque. Such clever marketing though!
@Deadgehog whenever referring to the awesomeness of a guitar, u say "bitching" haha
Don't feed the trolls. Besides; their comment was 3 months ago.
the begining sounds like mortal kombat.
5:04 wheel of death
Okeyyy.yy..- who´s bello Nock again?!? I don´t understand the triple-Thing. okey, aesthetic, maybe... but it only would make sence if they change the wheels while spinning or rihgt up.
The thing is supposed to be a bone grinder. Maybe one part needs more torque hence the need for 1 more slave
I assume it's mainly for aesthetics, but from a practical standpoint, it gives the act three different points to hand off the whips and jump ropes.
why do I want the chancelor to break out in a rendition of Its Peanutbutter Jelly time?
Fell on machine I mean. Not off of it*
Hasn't this thing killed like 12 people?
Troll Detected!
Why don;t YOU mmind your business. I don't have time for your conjtroll issues.
What.
The.
Fuck.
Is the wheel still in the show?
Yes
Yeah
Same people too suprisingly
@@CatBot007 I saw it a few months ago, and it looked like a lot of the main performers were still the same (the Wheel pair certainly did, as did the main female clown(?)). The singers have changed up, though. FWIW, this part was probably the coolest part and just about identical to what's showing here.
Cirque Du Soleil Kooza's Wheal of death is better.
Not a challenging wank.
