Excellent work Jamie. The joy of the rebar. 😁 I put in 25 in two days in my sleepers and that was my first injury with a tennis elbow. 🙄 But I had them cut to measurements so I didn't have to cut them.
@@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection possibly but £5 extra is still more when I have the tools to cut them myself any way plus I have a little project im gunna do with the off cuts 🤣
@@keepingitkoi sorry mate did nt think 🤣🤣 caught ads right at right time with his 🤣 one to remember for future 👌 do all the time that way had enough of braking fingers 🤣🤣🤣
Congratulations on the 500 subs mate well done, looked like hard work cracking them lengths of rebar in but they will make them nice and stonge mate 👌👍
Highly recomend buying some slicing disks for the grinder. Super fast and resly cold cut compared to a wide grinding disk. Alot less wear on your tool aswell
Thanks bud yeh the combi disc was the only one I had at the time but it did the job and its been up and holding for well over a year now and still doing well 😊👍
@Keeping it Koi I got caught short last month and had to use a dimond disk lol. Thankfully it was a cheeper disk and not much of a loss using it. Note to self now. Alwaus have a pack of slicing disk and flapper disks nesr the welder lol
Thanks 👍 yeh im just catching up on todays videos yours is in the queue and i saw on your cover pic theres water in it 👍🏻👍🏻 i told ya youd be finished before me ive got to wait 4 weeks for my liner now 😂😂
It was a 12mm hole for 12mm rebar as is didn't want any movement in them once it was in and remember as the wood dries out more it shrinks and contracts so the hole will probably get bigger as it dries out 👍😊 hope that helped 👍
Mine are just sat on top of the concrete I did contemplate that my self but I decided not to as the would will move and the concrete won't so I decided not to as I thought it might crack or damage the concrete hope that helps 👍
Sorry only just saw your reply, I'm happy to do the same, just lay the sleepers onto the concrete and rebar the sleepers together. Have you had any problems doing it like this? Your videos are really helpful, I'm basing my new pond build around yours with slight changes
@@macauleybowen2895 nope it's been faultless not even a creak from the wood 👍 and glad my videos are helping many people have copied this idea and I'm so glad I could help so many people 😊
Good job those sleepers are going nowhere. Did you get blisters like I did hammering the rebar in? 🤣 Keep up the good work, won't be long now until the fish are in. 🐟🐟
Where did you get that super long 12mm drill bit!!?? My best effort was a 235mm one as ive got some sleepers to join on top together like yours. My makita powerdrill is SDS
With your pond bud because of how small it is and the fact that you have dug down a couple of feet I would say your fine 👍 the strongest outward pressure is at the bottom of the pond not the top and being a relatively small koi pond there won't be that much pressure. I know everyone worries but when you think these free standing fiberglass ponds or even the Intex swimming pools there only held together by there plastic liners that are glued and stitched together and they last years even the really big ones. the only reason for rebar is to keep all the sleepers in the exact same position they started in and you have used a fair few screws and if there at least 8mm thick I really think you'll be fine I would recommend though better stronger corner brackets wickes do really good ones for less than £2 each real heavy duty👍 I would also look into better filtration as well as that box your building to sit above your pond is not ideal for koi unless your only looking at 1 or 2 fish 👍 maybe an easy pod or something like that bud 👍
it was a 600mm by 12mm auger bit to drill the hole and a 12mm rebar 👍🏻 hope that helps top tip wait till the sleepers are dry doing when damp is much harder 👍🏻
Sorry for the previous upload this is now the correct one 😂😂😂
Looking great, would have been easier cutting your rebar if you had a cutting blade rather than a grinding blade.
Was thinking the same thing 🤣👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
You are probably right but that blade cut all 15 rebar at 12mm thick and still looks brand new so It did the job 👍
Thor would be jealous of your hammer skills 😜. Looking good Jamie mate 👍🏻
🤣🤣🤣🙈🙈🙈 that made me chuckle cheers bud 👍
@Keeping it Koi 😊👍🏻
Those sleepers ain't going anywhere Jamie 👌.
Cheers Marek and yeh I think I'm pretty confident 😎
It’s looking great Jamie. Hammering the rebar looks satisfying.
Hard work but yes really satisfying 😌
Excellent work Jamie.

Always a bonus but it was cheaper to cut them myself and I'm way over budget so I went with the cheap option 🤣
@@keepingitkoi oh really? When I looked for mine it was only something like £5 more than the long ones (by the metre)
@@LauMagroTheFrenchKOInection possibly but £5 extra is still more when I have the tools to cut them myself any way plus I have a little project im gunna do with the off cuts 🤣
@@keepingitkoi that's cool. Looking forward to that 😃

Thanks Paul appreciate that 👍 🙏
Tip for anyone doing This- put oil down the hole, helps when hammering in and helps prevent rust
Great tip bud where was ya when I was doing it 🤣
Cutting with a grinding disk lol pros
It was actually a universal disk but thanks 😊
Great work buddy
Thanks bud 👍

No it's 13ft 10" × 7ft 11"
So 4.2m by 2.4m 👍
What size hole for the what size rebar if you dont mind me asking ??
I was going to go 1mm over size to the drilled hole??

Hello 👋
Help please
What size of the hold you make for the rebar
And the rebar I’m making my pond and thinking to rebar to 😁
it was a 600mm by 12mm auger bit to drill the hole and a 12mm rebar 👍🏻 hope that helps
top tip wait till the sleepers are dry doing when damp is much harder 👍🏻
Thank you for the help 👍
what size rebarr are you using ?? thanks
What size hole did you drill and what size rebar did you use?
Thanks for your question It was 12mm bit and 12mm rebar bud 👍
Looks good so far 👏🏼
Is the rebar 10mm?
What size auger/drill bit did you use as it looks like a tight fit?
Thanks 😊 It's 12mm rebar and I used a 12mm auger bit 👍
Great video mate👍👍
Thanks bud 👍
