it blows my head that they had documented this classic album. The new generations cant grap this emotion and excitement. 😃Thank you for uploading this.
That album is a true true classic. And otherworldy to have this documentady. Its a jewel. Thank you for uploading.. And how respectful are of each other , John to Brian ans viceversa. Two genious. Although it cuts ahen Nohn visirs his mom. I didnt get quite well shats the problem. But very sweet of him not to worry his mom. Da.
Brian and John made an album around then or soon after (the latter sounds likely) at enos studio at the time, which I've got on CD. Eno's a fantastic producer; his patience and guidance are superb.
Cale was still abrasive and sometimes moody around the time recording Words For the Dying. He was afraid of slipping back to the drug habit and wasn’t financially secure. His last album is Artificial Intelligence and he took a long break for rehabilitation. Must be the difficult time for him and his wife, Eden.
It's interesting. When I see Cale being interviewed nowadays I assume his 'uniqueness' (let's say) is down to age but it isn't because he's the same here. He's an unusual fellow.
45:19 - "there's a bullet with your name on it. A Brian bullet" - is Cale frustrated with Eno or with the violinist who doesn't understand harmonics? To be fair neither Cale nor Eno gave them any direction. Just 'play harmonics' which perhaps he didn't even understand. They should have given him an idea or in fact played something on the piano and told him to replicate it on his instrument. Why are they just sitting back hoping he does something they like?

こんなドキュメンタリー映像が残っていたことに感謝したい。当時のケイルの音楽制作、特にWords for the dying の制作の不透明さを補う素晴らしい動画でした。
Fabulous thank you for this

Eden is his daughter, Rise was his then wife.

41:29 the moment between Cale and Eno is magical
Cale's laugh is mental (maybe it wasn't his laugh in the car, though)
this looks like a very frustrating experience for john cale
never saw eno's ex-wife anthea before. funny that cale also never told eno he was going to be filmed.
It's lovely to see John's domestic life.
