@@Deekay909 I've talked to hundrets of pro russians after a war started and I don't have good opinion about vast majority of them. Most of them are totally brainwashed by years of propaganda. Fe. they talk about nazism in UA and when you ask them about voting results in Ukrainian elections or what even definition of nazism is, they have no clue. Or basic question about how many nato troops were in eastern Europe before the war started. Most of the time they repeat the same talking points presented by Soloviov, Skabiejeva etc. And to be fair, in the west there is a lot of propaganda too, but difference is you can choose your own propaganda like Fox or Cnn. In Russia you will get 15 years for diverging from one correct line of interpretation of so called SVO.

@@Deekay909 Ough, just love that country too ) Have a nice time and check the Vung Tau city. That is a kind of Miami or Sochi, a vacation center. And also, they have nice Russian community there, ask at Vung Tau Beach Club, they had also so called Australs, who were veterans and retired people from english-speaking countries, not necessarily Australia. They resided on the other side, facing Mekong, where the river boats pierce was, just some 300-400 meters away, as far as I remember. But till the dusk were seated at that Russian bar/surf station on the eastern shore.
Also, there was ex-soviet VietSovPetro blocks, where there are many shift workers from the north moved to continue work on the south for several months, or just tale a restoration period // kinda vacation between their jobs in Arctic. Anв American bikers with their garage, with their mechanicals and tuning business, and many other people from wherever. Quite a cozy and versatile little city, as of me. Different from Danang or other strictly hotel and surfers places.
And welcome back to Moscow as soon as you would be ready. Better wait till spring cause now there`s a mess, in fact, we are slightly taken down by the snow these days. Too much this year. Some 15 cm daily, for couple of weeks already. Too much, even for us..
And as you are travelers, would recommend also southern China, like Shanghai, taking attention on specifics, like museums, parks and so on, you won`t get into their culture or routines or habits, intentions, whatever you call that, otherwise.
In Russia, sure, the Golden ring, better first in late spring or summer, St.-Pete, sure. Better in summer. worst place on earth to me in winter, unless you are keen lover of Dostoyevsky or theaters, that guys just ignore their weather. Karelia. mostly, not the Petrozavodsk itself, but to its side-parts. We used to go kayaking round the polar latitude in summer. Some 150 kms of the way. But that was possible strictly on the last two weeks of July and the first week of August. There was some 30 Celsius during the day. So. So;ovki, as an option. There`s a pile of preachers and tourists to there. they are taking care.
As to travelers and bloggers, would advise the Baikal. mostly, Olchon island. Hard to reach, but that`s ok. There are no hotels., but easy to rent a house, on a daily basis. On Ulan-Ude, also an interesting place, but be careful, not safe. It`s ok in the sunlight. But Buryats might get crazy when they drink. So, the city center might become dangerous on friday nughts and all of that. That is not gangs, but kindа drunk active, I don`t know, Columbians, looking for fun. And action. Still. very safe place in the sun.. And just loved it. To say, we walked around on a friday nught,, nothing happened. Though we saw places where we better hadn`t to go. Easy.
      Kanchatka. Check yourself, please.
In the south, wineries around the seas. Abrau-Durco. And many others. Surf and Kait - stations. Volga, with Astrakhan. and other cities. Novosibirsk -- nothing special, just nice and check the science-hub. Also, the hydro-power station. Ough, the Rusgidro settles visiting to their hydro stations, all across the state. Thee are many. Also, Rosatom does the same, I belive. Not only the stations, but also teh production and processing facilities.
Might be wrong somewhere. But I believe, I gave you enough ideas )
      Luck!

Guys, I will make this comment in English so that you both can read it. Immigration, any immigration, always presents the obstacles you describe: devalvation of your professional and economic status, a language barrier, far distance from your relatives and friends. This is inevitable, I can attest to it, I immrgated three times, had to learn a new language three times and ajust professionally. Immigration requires patience and humility and then after a certain period of time you will overcome your obstacles and will be rewarded if your are determined to achieve something. Especially for Maria I want to say the following: you do not look like a Uzbek (there is nothing wrong with this but just to set things straight), you do not look Asian, your appearance fits many southern Russian types. The general attitude towards Latin Americans in Russia is quite favourable due to historical reasons. Yes, the language barrier ties you up to your husband and excludes you from communication at the beginning. Do not dispair and be glad there is someone to translate for you. Many people do not have even that. You are still young and speaking already two languages (English and Spanish) you will learn Russian rather quickly. Alex, your Russian is really good and it will only get better. Now the attitudes towards having a job, being needed, winning a small victory. Guys, this is American and Western; let it go. You will get your job and win your victory in time. Russia does not work this way, Russia is contemplative, its a personal journey in time, Russia humbles you. I have been living in Europe for more than 30 years now and after my retirement (which is much sooner than yours) I am planning to go back to Russia. For a while now I have been following stories of Westerners who moved to Russia for various reasons and have achieved what they wanted or are in the process. The majority of them have no Russian roots, did not speak a word of Russian, it was just a jump into the void. And now, a few years laer, they are settled and content. For instance watch this video ruclips.net/video/H2BGTfJeECU/видео.html about an American priest Father Joseph Gleason who moved there with his wife and 8 (!) kids on a tourist visa, it was -35 Celcius that winter, he got cancer during their first year, got treated there while his wife and kids were surviving in some apartment not speaking any Russian. Finally, they overcame all obstacles and are now living in rural Russia, organizing an American village there. Having said that, the Russian bureacracy is notorius and horrible, everybody knows that but you need to overcome it. Unfortunately, in Russia any variation in name spelling even for a Russian needs to corrected at any cost. You may find useful advice from the Father Joseph Gleason, I mentioned earlier or from Tim Kirby, who is trying to organize another American village near Moscow. They are also in contact with some lawyers in Russia. The main thing: do not dispair, be patient and keep your eyes on your goals.

Moscow metro works at night. Not 24/7, but until 1:00. The doors close at 1:00, so if you are already inside -you have time to catch the last train. Sometimes metro work for extended hours, like on new year and some religious hours.
But even if you missed last train, Moscow has "night busses" that travel around the city. You need to know, their routes, but still there are ways to travel at night besides taxi.

The Moscow Metro works 6:00--1:00 am every day including holidays. Exception: it often closes a bit earlier on the night of New Year's Day, otherwise holidays don't matter. The Metro works like clockwork and even better!
Also, very late at night, trains run with increased intervals of 5-10 mins.
As to bums, the Moscow Metro had them in the past just like in NYC but not anymore.

    • @billmorrigan386

By the way, the Moscow Metro has recently been working extended hours (even the whole night) on New Year's Day, during which time they even make it free 🙂 New Year's Day is the most important gargantuan holiday in Russia. Lots of people are on vacation almost till Jan 10. The downside is many people get more tipsy than they should 🙂

    • @billmorrigan386
      @billmorrigan386 9 месяцев назад

@@ЕленаВладимирова-в9я That's correct but not always and not for all the stations. *Some stations open at 5:40 am, some at 5:50 am.* Also some important stations are usually still open late at night, slightly past 1:00 am, say, till 1:15-1:30 am. To make sure you reach your destination, you have to have some margin. Do not cut it too close to the opening/closing time!
Please note that some trains especially the last ones often don't provide the ride to the terminus: The engineer will ask the passengers to leave the train, announcing that the train is headed to the depot. You must leave the Metro if it was the last train. So, please make sure you have some time margin. As to the exact time the subway opens, I strongly advise checking which stations actually start at 5:35 or 5:40, etc. unless you are ready to wait 15 mins for them to open.

Я не уверен, что у тебя получится устроится на работу в сферу РДЖ. Это совершенно другие стандарты и вам нужно пройти все ступени обучения и карьеры с самого низа. Это очень специфический и закрытый клуб - РЖД. So we are only changing состав/состоит. To summarize, "This train consists of 12 cars" is absolutely fine!
