On the comfortable seat thing. As I get older I prize comfortable seats more than I used to. Especially on a long trip. Not to long ago I was riding in an 02 Grandam for 2-3 hours one way. After I got home my legs hurt for a good 2 days afterwards.I don't remember any truck ever doing that to me.
It's about time Dodge offered a Ram 1500 with a diesel engine. Diesel may not be to everyone's tastes, but I believe that if one wants a truck with a diesel engine, or needs a truck with a diesel engine, they should be allowed the option. Why should we have to go for the 2500 or 3500 if we want a diesel engine?
FYI.... Consumer Reports has proven that both Tonno covers and lowering/removing a tailgate DECREASE fuel economy... not increase it... these tests were done with precision fuel flow meters and were consistently repeatable across all tests...
Is it possible for future reviews to hold the camera where the driver would be sitting to get a driver view of the road? Something that includes the gauges, hood and the general view of the road. Gives you the feeling of a test drive without going to the dealer. Just an idea is all...
Hey Mr. Truck, I've been asking all around and haven't been able to get a solid answer, not even from my dealer. If I order one with the air suspension and I hook up a trailer to it will it still go into aero mode if I get up to a speed that high?
Would really like to hear it run, does it sound like a diesel? I know you said it was Quiet but that's half the reason of buying a diesel is to hear it.
How reliable are these 2015 RAMs? My last Dodge product was a 1998 dodge Dakota V8. It was traded in after 65K miles it ate ball joints every 30k miles. Other than that it wasn't a bad truck. Didn't have it long enough for rust to take hold.
Inverted Hover It's hard to predict since it's 2015. But Ram is the most improved truck company, night and day from the eighties and nineties. HD's turned around in 2003 for the better.
I have a 2008 ram 3500 with the cummins 6.7, it has been awesome, close to 200,000kms (not miles), haven't had to touch the motor or trans, except regular maintenance, I tow often and usually in the mountains of BC Canada, I have had to do one 02 sensor, and one u-joint, and one set if breaks, interior still looks great. They have come a really long way.
+Dennis gt I've got the 2010 Laramie 3500 HD. 212k km, probably 30% of that towing a 14000lb trailer. All U-joints replaced, steering box at 70k (not covered by warranty, they said it was stressed from "parking lot maneuvers"), 1 set of brakes, and a tailpipe. Engine is thirsty but trouble free. Overall, really happy with this one.
+mopar ecodiesel (dotcom) is there an issue with oil bypass on these 3l diesels? Any issues to report? I'm tempted to drop my 14 Ram Hemi for the diesel.
Mr Truck, Is this any good for rowing a Travel Trailer across the country (Can-USA) that come in fully loaded at 6500 pounds? Will it do the trick in the mountains? Tnaks for the advice, A Canadian fan!
I'm thinking the gas trucks get the 32Gallon tank while the Diesels get 26 Gallon fuel + 7 Gallon DEF= 33Gallons... Probably located in the same physical space?
You guys talk about how this truck lacks power for towing. I'd like to see it against a 2nd gen dodge Cummins 24 valve auto on the ike gauntlet. HP and torque almost match and with the 8 speed instead of 4 it should do as good if not better against what used to be the truck to own if you were towing. Granted where it's a 1500 you would have to limit the trailer to say 6-7000 lbs.
I am a Ram guy and love diesels. I have wanted one of these since finding out about them but I simply cannot afford them. I'm going to end up buying my first Ford as they seem to be the only dealers around here that want to sell you a truck. The Ram dealers don't budge on price and are still using hard sell tactics. It's a shame, I've had 2 1500's in the last 16 years and these trucks have come a long way in that time. Probably why I can no longer afford them =)
I have the same, but in a Hemi. Really like the trailer for loading truck! Love Kelsie as assistant.... she drives trucks, rides ATV's, pulls large trailers (don't take wrong way, I am your age) Very informative video. I am between an Eco Diesel 1500 or Cummins 2500,,, think think think.
mcinkyt Yeah, the park brake on the black Kawasaki was tightened all the way and not much. The red Honda had a great park brake. Both ATV's had 4 straps on them. I'll tie to the axles next time, not easy to do on the front axle.
Do you homework people and stay away from the 6 cylinder RAM ecodiesel. They don't take the little added cost to key the cam gears, but instead just tighten them down with a bolt that will eventually allow the valve gear to slip and thus the motor blows.
The new F150 diesel doesn't look like it will be reliable either. I'd rather just have the V8 in either of them. If you're not going to tow heavy, the trademan Ram with the V6 costs a lot less too. Plenty of power to tow a 3000 lb trailer like this.
If it was the Kawasaki, the park brake is worthless. You can tighten the cable often and it doesn't last. I have all 3 Honda's now and the parking brake is great and easily adjustable.
I live in a small rural farm town on the eastern plains of Colorado and not one farmer/rancher out here wears his boots on the outside of his pants. This is absolutely driving me crazy with these video's...ugh
You've got to get out more. I know many ranchers and rodeo cowboys that wear the pants in. Ever heard of boot cut jeans? Boots with a deep dip in the shaft are made to stick pants inside. Go to a horse sale sometime. Ever heard of buckaroo boots? The stitching on the shaft holds it up. Some have fancy stitching and why wouldn't you want to show that? I have no problem being different, that's why I'm an American
who gives a shit. i've seen plenty of people wear there boots like that. your bitching for no reason, but if it's driving you crazy then you have a bad case OCD. everybody i know doesn't care.

How would it decrease fuel economy having tail gate down?

C Nevs We'll try that
Hey Mr. Truck,

The-Mike-N-Tyty Good question but I think when you have the air ride set for trailer that it will stay there
The-Mike-N-Tyty no it will not. It detects the trailer and disables the lowering function and enables the auto level system.
Ah okay that's what I was curious about
Would really like to hear it run, does it sound like a diesel? I know you said it was Quiet but that's half the reason of buying a diesel is to hear it.
SonOfMarvin it gets louder at 60,000 miles. not like an annoying powerjoke, or cummins, but its a nice growl. and purr.
SonOfMarvin We added and AFE Intake to ours and we can really hear the turbo now. Makes the ride a little less mundane and FUN
SonOfMarvin Yeah we need to do that, most vehicles won't let you go WOT sitting still

Inverted Hover you can watch my two hour long 109,000 mile review on the ecodiesel. I have 120,000 miles now. :)

I want one of these trailers but none out there with the load thru ramp. BTW that side loaded atv is moving quite a bit at the end of the video.
Is the steering hydraulic or electronic?? I know the f150 and Silverado 1500 are electronic(EPAS).
DJKiDDKlashez Electronic rack and pinion
I.T. Intern the 2015-2018 use electric rack and pinion
What did you get for gas mileage pulling the 4 wheelers?
Mr Truck,
Is this any good for rowing a Travel Trailer across the country (Can-USA) that come in fully loaded at 6500 pounds? Will it do the trick in the mountains?
Tnaks for the advice,
A Canadian fan!
+Remi Tremblay You'd need the 3.92 rear axle ration and the towing mirrors. It will do it, but not fast in the mountains.
Dang that truck's got a lot of bells and whistles.
I'm thinking the gas trucks get the 32Gallon tank while the Diesels get 26 Gallon fuel + 7 Gallon DEF= 33Gallons... Probably located in the same physical space?
Nomadic Canuck I'll have to crawl under one and see. The HD diesels only have a 32 gallon fuel tank and I think a 5 gallon DEF
You should get Kelsey to do a review of her ecodiesel after she has a few miles on it. Is she using it for towing at all? Thanks for the videos.
We'll try to do that. You're welcome
GNR325
Why wasn't tow haul utilized? The light was not on when showing the brake control and shifter
+djeazy2012 Light trailer, not needed. We didn't need help with braking or controlling the trailer.

That's a nice trailer but I'd be finding a more secure way to strap that load

it's fine it ain't going nowhere.
Love my ecodiesel
did they discontinue that drive thru trailer? can't seem to find it
I don't know, you can call Jayhawk Trailers in Denver, that is where I bought it.
@@MrTruckTV thank u
Where can you get that trailer? I looked on load-trail website and can’t find it.
Look at jayhawktrailers.com/ that's were I bought mine
MrTruckTV thanks
Is this about the truck or the atvs?
truck
Wayyyyyyyy to much yakking!!
Like the way the camera man pans in on Trixy's butt!
shut up quit complaining, you sound like a nagging wife. and only you would pay attention to the girls butt.
It is spectacular!

That right there is a real woman, love how she holds her seat belt and isn't a no brain female. Cool truck and trailer too lol
awesome
Good review
Thanks
I like your videos
You forgot to lock the brake on the forward most ATV.
If it was the Kawasaki, the park brake is worthless. You can tighten the cable often and it doesn't last. I have all 3 Honda's now and the parking brake is great and easily adjustable.
I like these folks :)
3.5L? you mean 3.0L

And here I thought boot cut jeans were flared to fit over the boot vs inside the boot.

It's a 3.0, not a 3.5
Wrong.
Cute lady but please buy her a thesaurus.
no just no
