What a neat little boat. I have been looking for a boat that's easy to trailer and easy to set up and get on the water and the Com-Pac cat came up on my radar. The mast and spars stay on the and the mast can hinge down and be on the trailer in a few minutes. These aren't very common, so it's cool to see a video of one. The cockpit looks incredibly roomy for a 14' boat.

It was a fun boat to sail. Intuitive. Eckhard has since sold that boat I believe. Nice stable boat - better than some other 14ft boats I have been on.

Hi and thanks for the new content. I've recently discovered your channel and it's been fun watching your older videos as we share the same crusing grounds (my home port is Kalama). I sail a 22' catboat, which is much more of a cruiser than your friend's Picnic Cat, but similar in many ways in terms of sailing characteristics, I presume. I was surprised to hear him refer to the gaff as the "yard"; I think of yards as the horizontal spars on square rigged vessels, but that's just my OCD showing.
Anyway, thanks for the ride...it was fun. Keep the content coming!

Thanks for your comment. It was a fun sail - I had never been on a gaff rig before. We'll be getting more content up through the fall. Stay tuned.
