Actually, that would be cool if he was an assist trophy instead of an actual stage hazard the 1st time he was featured in Super Smash Bros. Still seems like an awesome idea.
By Ultima I assume it’s Ultima weapon? Because Ultimately Ultimate Chimera follows him nearly perfectly. Would be an Ultimate letdown if the Ultimate neighbourhood enemy Pokey wasn’t a Ultimate reveal as a DLC character in Ultimate otherwise I’d be Ultimately disappointed if he, Starfy with a proper movepool (do your Ultimate research on the plot people) as well as Silver/Infinite. (Sure the two don’t have big plot points especially the latter with the dumb plot but Ultimately it’s up to Sakurai on the Ultimatum Of a movepool) I’m sure that you can Ultimately judge me as all my Ultimate hope even for Indie characters to wind up my love for InDIE games to go pull a despacito.
With that kind of power, is it possible the Ultimate Chimera is a spawn of Azathoth? In the Call of Cthulu RPG, any encounter with Azathoth results in *"The World is Consumed! Game Over*
I think how it works is like Zelda or Ridley's final smash. If you have over 100% by the end of the attack, you just die instantly. Giant Metal Bowser With a Mushroom took exactly 100% which is extremely close to but not over 100% so he managed to survive
As far as I know, this was a thing in Smash 4 which was also included in Ultimate, and it's what I like to called a "100% Instant KO". This can be seen in The Great Cave Offensive stage with it's lava hazards and Bayoetta's Final Smash. And probably the reason they add this to UC in Ultimate is probably to replicate how it does in Mother 3. And as you mentioned in the video, you took 120% damage for a frame (from the sweetspot I think) before disintegrate.
I think making it an On-Spot KO [for lack of a better name] was less about making it more like Mother 3 and more about the fact they could actually have characters KO on the spot as of 4, which is probably also why Stamina battles are now a regular mode and can have stocks Heck I'm pretty sure they've beefed up On-Spot KOs as of Ultimate, as I swear at a high enough % Bowser's FS will just send targets straight into a Screen KO. If the stage allows it, anyway, because I know some stages don't allow Star KOs, so I assume the same can apply to Screen KOs [first candidate that comes to mind for that is Flat Zone X, but I don't know for sure]. Also Training Mode just outright doesn't let Screen KOs happen for some reason And on a final note of this Screen/Star KO tangent: The Beetle and the Boss Galaga will _always_ do a Screen or Star KO, respectively...again, if the stage or mode allows it
@@ChainChomp2 Unfortunately there is no official term for KOs that happen on the spot, although some people refer to them as executions. Danger Zone is the term for a stage hazard that causes said KO, not the KO itself.

Not even Spirits will help to save you, it does not matter what Spirits and the Spirit Style you have equipped on your fighter. You will be murdered by the UC, and be handed a Critical Finish K.O. on this stage when it appears.
Marth's FS ignoring knockback/damage resistances from items is clever since in Fire Emblem, Critical Hits ignore all of the target's defense stat as far as I know.
For a strong character, how about the big pig in Legend of Zelda Wind Waker? When it's angry, it does THREE hearts of damage! That's more damage than one of Ganon's attacks!
Bowser is the most powerful smash ultimate character, when he is double mushroomed, is metal, and not to mention he’s the heaviest playable character in the game.
I noticed on one occasion something bizarre happened with the UC. Apparently it spawned one time on the lowest area it can and it decided to apparently spawn at where the collapsible floor is when it was already destroyed. I saw it do a unique animation and heard a special screech come from it as it realized quick it messed up as it fell downwards. Causing this behavior to ensue just happened on complete accident because I couldn't get it to stand on that part and then destroy the platform as it is on there again.
Maybe Ultimate Chimera's Bite has the same properties as the lava in Smash Ultimate: it only kills you if you get hit with +100%. So the Chimera always deals 120% with its bite, which instantly kills anyone. But when Bowser got hit, due to his defense he only got 100% damage, which didn't trigger the insta-kill.
You can actually survive 2 Ultimate Chimera's bites with spirits. No idea what spirits they were since I just had CPUs battle in a tournament with random spirits when it occurred.
3:07 Giant Metal Bowser takes 100% but lives. On closer inspection, Bowser might have lived the first bite because of the "edge tipping" state; at least, the brief transition into it. I went through frame-by-frame and found that he takes damage right before entering the "edge tipping" animation. This is as Bowser is going from "running" to "edge tipping". 3:37 Giant Metal Bowser also takes 100%, but gets insta-killed this time. Standing on the platform, nothing out-of-the-ordinary. I'm no expert on programming, but perhaps this was a fringe-case bug where you are immune to the insta-kill while transitioning into that animation state; maybe it wasn't given the parameters for vulnerability to insta-kill. Only talking about the transitional state here. I'd imagine it was not caught during testing since it seems very specific to be tipping at the ledge as you're getting annihilated by the chimera. I know of the edge-cancel bug in SSB64, where you can cancel taunts with the edge tipping animation (even for a brief moment), so maybe it could be related.
The reason is because of an Ultimate mechanic, wich is Execution Effect This effect is on few attacks, like Death's Scythe, Mimikyu, Zelda's and Ridley's final smashes. This effect won't do anything if the target is under a certain amount of damages : 100% And the fact that it deals 100 / 120% is logical with this explenation, the only problem I have is that you survived 1 strike, maybe a bug.
I think what's going on with super smash Bros ultimate is the game is flinging the character off the screen at an incredibly rapid amount of speed that the game isn't even detecting it. that's why you don't see the effect of them being thrown off the game. They just have a particle effect, or it was intended for their character just to be deleted from the screen and just to be respawned.
UC. the critical hit sends opponents flying, meaning that walls or ceilings can stop the opponent from being launched off the screen. UC bypasses that requirement entirely. he only survived the first bite because of his inherent flinch resistance
I wonder how a boss would take those hits. My ganon does like 300% with his warlock punch and did nothing to giga bowser etc. Also i wonder how ganon reacts to this considering he can only be hurt if you hit his tail.
I miss the transformation ones like Giga Bowser and Wario Man, but having said that, the new Giga Bowser one is so badass, I can't complain too much. At least they didn't change Peach's lovely Final Smash.
In Smash 4, Yoshi used to be top dog, but I can't get to grips with him in Ultimate. I know what I need to do with him, but I can't do it, it's very annoying. In Ultimate, Peach/Daisy (specifically Peach) is probably my best character, followed by Rosalina, Jigglypuff, Palutena, Isabelle, Pirhana Plant, Incineroar, then Wario. Yoshi could be anywhere on the chart, I don't really know anymore.
So basically not counting Ultra Chumera and other stage hazards, Mega Metal Bowser is the most powerful character in Smash. Metal/Mega Special Smash players watch out, dread is coming!
Jesus fuck, I didn't even think about the UC in this game! And I should have. That's... Yeah, messing with them is like baiting a fish 10 times bigger than you with a small piece of bait. You just get utterly obliterated.
I mean, if the UC seems indestructible and while Marth can take damage and be defeated then that's one point for the UC. Marth needs a Final Smash to perform a Critical Hit while the UC is always capable of bitting and killing inmediatly in Mother 3 and Smash, unlike Marth who for Ultimate and FE criticals are more of a situational thing. So yeah, Marth can have the same power as the UC, but when it comes to how powerful both of them are overall, the UC is still superior.
It's time to bring out the super virgin in me: I strongly disagree with uc being considered one of the strongest video game characters. The sheer fact that lucas is able to outrun uc should be enough to be not consider him that. Also saying that he is one of the strongest video game characters of all time just because you touch him and its game over is flawed logic, we only get to fight or even see the chimera in chapter 7 meaning that while the chances are somewhat slim, lucas at this point in the story has not reached his full potential and theres no saying whether he'd be able to take on the uc after he beat the mysterious man. I'm also fairly confident that even if lucas failed at fighting the uc, ness could definitely defeat it since he has literally taken down the embodiment of evil. Then theres ninten ect... Edit: Smash is also an awful way to measure strength, using the example you used, Marth would be an even stronger video game character. Plus, we're talking about a game where the lord of darkness Ganondorf can be killed by a sleeping balloon, Jigglypuff. Cmon man, Cmon.
