Another helpful tool is an Interlinear Bible. An interlinear Bible can help you determine which Hebrew or Greek word is used in a passage. It shows the original Hebrew or Greek text with the literal English translation typed below each word. This information is useful when building interpretations based on the use of repetition and in making associations between sections of the text that the original audience would have heard but have become obscured in translation. When used in conjunction with the language dictionaries at the back of Strong’s, an interlinear Bible can also make it quicker to determine the Hebrew or Greek meaning.
Hi Allen! Thank you for your insight! To be honest, I have never heard about an interlinear Bible. I just started learning about different Bible study tools. I'm sure there are so many much more to discover. Thanks for the suggestion and I'll be sure to check it out as it looks like something I can truly use.
@@KayeLeanRamos Wow! Hello Kaye, thank you so much also for replying. I wasn't expecting it. No problem, you're very welcome. May we all continue to "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen." (2 Peter 3:18 NIV) :-) ♥
@@KayeLeanRamos Actually the interlinear bible is best way to understand what it really talk about. Some meanings hidden in the "regular" bible (the one you have at home) cannot be hidden in the interlinear bible.
Loved your video. I use the KJV bible, NIV Journaling bible, Holman's Study bible for women, Stong's Exhaustive Concordance, Bible Dictionary, Mini 3-ring binder, a classic and a mini Happy Planner Notes and then I also have a regular size notebook, Bible pens and highlighters from Hobby Lobby and some erasable ink pens from Hobby Lobby. Extra things I have are sticky notes, some religious stickers and some mini Happy Planner Prayer and Gratitude inserts.
Thank you. Excellent presentation. I like to use the commentaries of R. C. Sproul and David Pawson, because I find them engaging and readable. I also like to use my New Testament Survey by Robert R. Gundry and similar books. Also, I found the 8-book bible study series called 'The Victory Series' by Neil T. Anderson helpful since they contains short chapters with questions for individua or group use.
I would also recommend The Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible, The NLT Illustrating Bible, The Complete Jewish Study Bible, The Holy Land Illustrating Bible, a good Bible Dictionary, a solid basic study Bible like the ESV, a devotional version like She Reads Truth Bible, a basic journaling version like the CSB Notetaking Bible, and the Archaeological Study Bible along with a good Bible Atlas. A good basic commentary set is the Bible Knowledge Commentary Old and New Testament set.
I actually studying on my own with God’s help , I believe he is guiding me .I have a note book color highlighters ,dictionary,Bible, sticky paper, concordance, and the children concordance which helps me understand better .thanks you
I too found that I really came to understand the bible by using a Study Bible. After a lot of trial and error I ended up using all the same resources you have except I do not use any on line resources. Also, I would just add that if you are a new believer the NLT is another great translation to read first. Getting started with marking is a good idea to start with pencils and erasable coloured pencils because at least if you make a mistake you can erase them. Then once you are more experienced you can use more permanent markers and pens like the Pigma Micron pens. Stay away from gel bible markers after a couple of years the gel bleeds into the paper.
Sooo many different things like morning thoughts to help declutter my mind, brainstorming ideas but for my Scripture and Bible journal I usually write questions and reflections I get as I read.
Thanks for recommending these bible study tools, great help for us! I have the same bible as yours, it is really helpful because of the explanations provided for every verse 😍
This is so helpful! There is so much out there and this helps narrow down what I need as a beginner. I agree with having multiple pencil cases, am guilty. I like having one upstairs and downstairs...and one in my bag.
I agree Katie. There's still soooo much more out there. I'm also trying to save so I can buy some more helpful tools. You can never have enough pencil cases :)
Hi Cathy. I get many of my journals from Five Below, Dollar Tree and those with my pictures are from Shutterfly. For the journals with prompts, I get them from Amazon. I will try to find them and link them in the description box once I find them.
What do I do? My parents won’t let me get a Bible and I can’t go out on my own because I’m only turning 12 next year and I might have a chance to get one myself in 1 or 2 years maybe this one!
Hi 20EGAMING! There are many reputable free Bible apps like Youversion and even online like Biblegateway where you could read the Bible. Praying in time, your parents will let you have one.
I’m old. My helps are King James based. I’m no fan of KJV but I think it’s best to have the resources based on a translation that doesn’t change. Case in point, I do have a commentary of NIV. Thing is that it’s NIV’84. See? They updated. Oh well. I like the 84 better than my NIV update anyway. 🤔😀. Great video!!
Thanks Terry. I’ve heard about the KJV being closest to translation but as a second language learner, it’s a little difficult for me to understand it at times. I try to read it and I love it for Psalms☺️
@@KayeLeanRamos There are more accurate versions available today than KJV. For all I have been able to find out, NASB and ESV are the 2 very best. Oh well. NIV is best for me 😊
I cannot recommend just one because I also have limited experience with commentaries. If you have access with local library, you can check if you can borrow so you have a feel for the theological approach of the author. It’s very important to be familiar with Bible first before going deep with a commentary.

Strongs concordance Bible dictionary gives much information about the things we read in the bible and much more, whilst manners and customs of bible times go into the specific customs they had in those times. Strongs concordance gives you the original Hebrew and Greek definition.
