ehhh to call warframe 'THE BEST FREE TO PLAY' ignores the fact that all the systems they have added is just bloat by and large especially since the balance is atrotious.... like team fortress 2 or fortnite or pubg or literally any other f2p out there has far more than warframe because they at least usually either have a theme and build on that or a concept and build on that. like warframe is like the old saying goes, was wide as an ocean but only ever at most as deep as a puddle......
i can see it. if its your main frame one mod slot out of 6 sure i can see someone making 1 out of 6 something strange ive got allsorts of weird mod builds going on just for sole purpose of being flashy or silly, like my sky cannon Zephyr

The stupidest thing i regularly do is just give my super squishy frames a ton of parkour velocity as a survivability option. The enemies cant kill me if im zooming around like a fighter jet.
Speed is its own armor. Until it isn't.

The point when they actually added in speed as a negative to enemy accuracy Did do a lot though.
I turned ivara into Speed McQueen. She's faster than a cloud walking wukong and can outrun a gauss. While moving that fast the enemies don't detect you at all. You can literally run up to them run a couple circles around them and keep going and they'll be known the wiser of your presence. Spy missions take less than 2 minutes lmfao
It's pretty great with shield gating, all you really need is less pressure so you don't have to absolutely spam abilities, add crowd control, take notice of eximi/acolytes and you're good to go into endurance. Being fast is also really nice in Disruption btw., try Mag with Arcane Consequence and Praedos.
Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.
i replaced Grendel's forth with Fire Walker to create a Spicy meat ball.... i don't know if its practical but i love it regardless 🤣
No mate you gotta do the aqua blades build everyone makes so you can strip the armour with ball and then use slash that ignores armour its definitely the most efficient meatball build totally
@@Cod__Fish listen, I've made this my Grendel specifically cause the idea of sawblade ball of doom is BEYOND hilarious to me, more so then other options, regardless of actual effectiveness (it's not very effective)
@@marydragon5101 my comment was satirical as I was pointing out that you don't need slash whith armour strip it's redundant and I'm not saying anyone shouldn't use the build as it's not the most effective I have a variation I threw together quickly and went into a void cascade with a friend who wanted to lvl cap (this is most likely the actual worst mission in the game for that build at the time) it was the hell not dying but it was funny

I have a excal with well of life over his 1. I go in with all level 1 weapons and use his exalted blade to get kills while spam healing and blinding.
I did the same thing to Grendel, replaced the redundant regurgitate move with firewalker because it's funny controlling a fireball (and effective due to fire trails being all over the place lmfao)

Spore saryn exists 4 for high range small amount viral and tiny cc 3 for base dmg 2 for shield gating and 1 subsumed with gloom/roar/ensnare/warcry/terrify (I've even seen a guy use thermal sunder I'm like you removed a nuke for a weaker nuke)
Replacing Spores isn't anywhere near that level of stupid because you can build Saryn around her buffing abilities instead to make her an insanely powerful weapon platform.
Replacing Miasma with Nourish was easily a WAY better idea imho. Weapons platform Saryn is so busted... Keep that cursed no-spore away lol
@@darthplagueis13 mesa has better survival than 90% of frames with the 1st being stupidly op with aug letting weapons with no dmg hit dmg cap with minor buffs. The fact there's well of life they must be using a weapon with a on hit effect like zymos so shoot the head and anything in Los gets hundreds of spores homing in on
Paid 4500p for a legendary core, then sorties came out and instantly dropped them down to ~500p
They go for 100-200 these days.
I did that with frost prime before they gave him out for free bees

I've decided to deleted all my regular warframes for some space just before the big update arrived with helminth..
To me none mattered besides limbo vauban hurt a little bit weren't that bad. I had a similar thing with aoe nerf a week before it I finally decided I'm gonna get kuva weapons I put it off till now. And now I have weapons I can barely ever use besides tonkor

The stupidest thing I ever did was delete my Excalibur Prime because I needed space, and I was a poor and stupid teenager. A few years later, I met someone who worked with DE, and they returned him to my account. It was a one-time thing at the time, I believe. So if I did it again, he would be gone for good

I have a common trend amongst my frames that helps maintain my sanity. 1 Meta build, 1 Fun build and one absolute abomination meme build.
This hurts as much as a time someone on Region chat about a year ago recommended a Nezha build where they replaced Nezha's Warding Halo: what is basically his MAIN ability, for Grendel's Nourish.

I put a load of Forma into Bronco Prime for a Dizzying Rounds setup, then DE decided to buff the weapon a ton. No complaints here.
Investing into anything hard isn't a mistake. As long as you like the thing and the resources can be gotten again, nobody needs to butt in and tell you it's not 'meta' or 'good'.
@@Joe90h I think people SHOULD tell you they aren't meta or good. I think that most people have enough confidence to be like "I know, but I like them" and that's that. Pushing any farther than that is where you can cross lines and be seen as rude, which they would be. What if people were misinformed, they hate the weapon, but a LR2 told them its the best weapon with 11 formas and an orokin? Someone saying it isnt meta would save that person 11 formas.

Worst thing I think I've done, I bought the $30 or $40 heirloom pack that came with the colors and glyph and Plat, but I only bought that because I had recently just started playing, didn't really talk to clan or do any trading, and ended up getting to the new war quest. So I basically bought the pack to buy the mech from market just to be able to do quest immediately cause I didn't want to take a week farming. The story was just getting good then and yeah. Bought a $30 or $40 pack to play the new war quest lol. I've also given away mechs I've made since then so people don't actually do the same as me.
Sounds like a waste honestly. Not ditching Peacemaker, but not using her 1 Augment as long as you didn't ditch that instead. Slapping enemies with a Crit Cedo Glaive is pretty impressive. Well of Life enables a lot of stupid mechanics like Zymos spore spam, too.
Mesa was on it's peak on release and every time they touched her after that made her worse just like ember and saryn. Being able to build characters that can speed run defence missions was the most fun thing in the game. As a ember prime you just freaking stand still while the world turn into dust or running around excavation mission seeing all of your enemies burning around you. Felt like a god and they fucking neft that shit, all of it. Saryn also inflicted enemies with korona and it spread like wildfire melting the entire area, just amazing.
My biggest regret when I was a new player was selling a glaive riven for like 40p because I just didn’t like the weapon type at the time😭

Not gonna lie, seeing the old warframe UI, the map, the arsenal, that goddamn box ogris. It brings me happy memories. Back when I thought getting an orokin cell from an alert was a huge deal.

i mean...marked for deaths damage is capped at 150%, collective curse is capped at 100%...
i bought... 50x petslots... purchased the most expensive pack for the heirloom head attachment.. while cheaper packs had them too... I ... purchased sentinel skin parts... while they were cheaper in ... a bundle... so i did buy seperate parts of a bundle... which was deluxe... and in the end came to the conclusion (multiple times... that it was non purchasable unless bought the full deluxe as bundle...) Also.. I did 900 hours for just getting past MR8.. since i got stuck there because... I thought the MK1-Strun levelled the fastest... So i kept it as my 2ndary... i also kept my primary most of the time the same as the Opticor Vandal since i got it at MR6.. (was carried along the event of thermia fractures for past 100 pnts..) And i did anoter 1o0 points in the hopes of getting a hidden weapon item as reward... but i got nothing when i reached 200pnts... Also my friend got stuck for the same amount of time one MR under me (MR7) and he did the same thing... relevelling the MK1-Strun... the first 6 Mastery Ranks... we levelled at Lith Earth... Because it was the easiest defense mission for us... And we could kill a lot there... But Hydron is more efficient... Which we didn't know... My IQ was supposed to be around 127... at my 14th... But I think i got back at IQ97 (or lower) as when it was back when I was 10 yrs old... Because this is just ridiculous when i read it all back... Also I thought Affinity was just something we could earn in missions >for the direct purpose of reviving ourselves... The more affinity we got the more we could revive ourselves... Or so we thought... So we kept tossing away our Affninity ( which in the end was our XP... But we didn't knew) /.... Post smth under this if you think its more stupid than I've done so far... oh my b. I think i also gave away a glaive prime blade since i had not the set and thought it was useless to have it anyway, since i didnt like glaive parts... I'm still trying to get a set after 6.5k hours... imagine... xD

Mesa doesn’t “nuke” she looks in a direction and kills what isn’t blocked by a wall. Nuke is for abilities that go through walls and kill everything you know, like a Nuke does?

for one thing i 100% Agree with you Tater as someone who mains Mesa its seriously painful seeing someone replace her 4th when you can get some crazy DPS potential out of it now adays.
When I started Warframe in 2013, I thought catalyst blueprints were unlimited use and sold all the extra ones I got thinking they were useless, learned after selling 10+ blueprints that it didn't work that way.
The most stupid thing I've done is ignoring the Vandal Braton when it first released. It used be sold for 1cr in the shop and I thought "Why would I waste a slot for a recolored copy of a regular Braton?" And then the Vandal version turned into a collector item basically and I had to wait for ages until it got re-released as a reward from ESO.
The most stupid thing i did in Warframe was pick Kunai as my starter secondary...
Fun fact your Kubrow that hasnt turned adult yet can die after some time if you dont make him an adult and thats it you dont have it anymore... Dont ask how i found out.

I'm deadly serious about this one. I want to make a Titania build with a Helminth ability over Razorwing.
With her 4, you're getting lots of survivability because enemies just can't hit you. But that comes with pretty huge drawbacks, as Dex Pixia being single-target weapons makes killing enemies slow, and Diwata is completely useless. I sometimes wonder if it's just better to run a build that uses the non-exalted weapons in her loadout. Though Razorwing is obviously the highlight of the frame, tbh, the rest of her abilities are interesting enough where I feel like she wouldn't completely lose all of her character if you gutted that part of her kit.
I loved the "hold my beer" stuff I still have my 10 Charge rate Daikyu and I have a riven I'm trying to reroll for negative fire rate as well for it. It's hilariously bad but it's so much fun.
The thing I did which I still don't regret was before the hydroid update I had him with the Zarr, a Rivened Kraken(full negative crit chance) and a rivened Sydon and replaced his 4th with expedite suffering... it was suffering for me not the enemy.
Mesa's Peacemaker can (will) become dull after awhile, unless I need to specifically kill something fast and be done with it, like when a friend forces you to do defense or something, I'd be fine with replacing her 4
If you think that's bad you should see my hildryn prime build. I built her for max range, max duration, efficiency amd -60% damage and I replaced her balefire chargers with trinity's well of life. Why? Because this build is hands down undisputibly the BEST necramech support frame, you activate well of life, activate her 4, summon your necramech and have fun in yoyr necramech while hildryn's 4 remains active, you essentially have a huge vauban's bastille that also generates energy for necramech ability spam. Her 4 CCC's enemies over a wide area and turns them into energy orb dispensers, hence the -60% damage on her,to keep enemies alive as long as possible to pop those energy orbs for your necramech out. Trinity's well of life IIRC does not work on necramechs in terms of status immunity but it does supposedly heal them.

It works great on Ember though, especially when you're energy hungry... augment, flame away and refuel.
I feel bad for your honestly. As someone who has also been here since the early days of warframe (early january 2013), I myself have seen my fair share of disgusting abominations. Keep strong and don't let the "new gen" of warframe players keep you up at night, they will come back to our builds sooner or later when they realize what mistakes they made. Love you Tato and thank you for the content all these years!
I am and always have been a prolific farmer, I joined a clan way back in the day and dumped 80K polymer bundles in the vault to help out. They kicked me the next day. Been clanless ever since.
Me and my friend were just playing and reminiscing about Bionicle, stalker came in, killed him, got War. First time we’d had it drop. Kept reminiscing about Bionicle when all of a sudden we heard a bell…popped up mission failed. We spent so long geeking out and celebrating finally getting War drop we forgot we was in a capture mission and the target escaped and we lost the War blueprint…needless to say we sat there for a good 10 minutes laughing otherwise we’d be crying 🤣
Stupidest thing I did in WF is also the best thing that I did in WF... Making an account. Thousands of hours poured into this game I could have used somewhere else. Yet I don't really feel the regret.

I sold a +Heat/+Electricity, +DMG Lanka unrolled riven for 200p back when even second-rate Lanka rivens sold for 2000+ platinum.
I did that back around 2019. I still haven't forgiven myself for my ignorance.
Mesa main here and all I can say about that build is... WTF!
Also on the topic of big mistakes I once sold a thousand or more mods for credits and a few months later Endo became a thing.

Yeah I think they got you good. There's an interaction with well of life and thumpers which makes you one shot them. Mesa, because of the DMR and weapon dmg buffing, plus her 1 for a big chunky hit and then you let go of well of life and boom.

The dumbest thing I did was back when I first started playing Warframe and jebaited myself buying common mods for plat. I also invested a heavy amount of Forma trying to make the Zarr a viable weapon way before Kuva weapons were added to the game, all of the nonbelievers that made fun of me can eat my *****, I was thinking 5 years ahead into the future while everyone was drooling on their Soma Primes.
I miss early warframe sometimes, especially conclave before the parkour when it was slower and more focused on gunnery and not exploits with melee weapons.
I love the game so much more now but some older things I want back like the original skins for the ignis, braton, and ogris.

When I first started Warframe, I thought you could only have one build going at a time, so I paid platinum to hurry a build so I could start a second, not knowing I could have just started the build. That's the dumbest thing I've done in Warframe.
My stupid build is Inaros with all the mobility mod. He runs as fast as wukong.
Another one is Inaros with all the heavy teleport mod and a big blade weapon, then slice and teleport across everything. One of the best thing is that is can teleport across walls in Spy mission.
if had anything to remove from Mesa is the 1st ability ... she is no Gauss where every skill can be mandatory to have
And this is the reason why Prime Warframes should have mastery level restrictions, because now that I see it, I already know that there are even more abominations...

The worst thing I've done would be putting vitality+Redirection....On Rev....Before becoming a Rev main....This got made worse when I had a clan member send me his build a year or so later, and he was rocking Redirection+vitality+Vigor on his....

Stupid thing i did: I just merged my PC (MR24) and PlayStation (MR14) accounts and deleted the duplicate warframes instead of doing the logical thing that would be to turn them in to the helminth.
I realized my mistake aproximately 0.1 seconds after I finished deleting the last duplicate.
When melee rivens were new, like day 1 new, I was still pretty new to the game and got one from a sortie I think. I told region chat about it and someone offered 1k plat to buy it off of me. He offered me so much plat I thought "damn, if it costs this much then I should keep this"! I had the worst roll ever on a weapon nobody would use even if it had the best riven disposition. It keeps me up at night sometimes.

I know this isn't exactly a stupid build but, I love running Red Crit Grimoire Alt Fire Mesa. I basically do a similar thing to this, replace Peacemakers with Roar, get Ballistic Battery, equip Cedo and Grimoire, and proceed to delete rooms with bouncy bombs and a bubble.
I sold my broken war for a weapon slot. That's what I remember off the top of my head.
My idiot new player moment, was not understanding the marketplace early on, not realising everything had a credit cost as well as a plat cost, so I just farmed early game relics for HOURS selling the bits for tiny amounts of a plat at a time till I could finally buy Rhino, since every starting guide told me to get him, and I had all his parts already...
Even the most baby of starting guides didn't feel the need to mention the blueprints price on the market because it should be obvious. I am a special kind of stupid.
I sold 4 years of extra mods for credits instead of Endo. It was a hard lesson once my "oh sheet" moment passed.
I bought vetala shoulder plates with my free 50 starting plats. I found out later that warframe and weapon slots were a thing 😅

As a MR33 player, the stupid but fun builds are what I live for. I can erase anything in the game with min-maxing, but that's boring.
On another note, I like the way you approach the game, you're one of the first content creators I followed and still one of my favorite, so although it would be understandable if you were to stop making warframe videos, it would be sad day.

This kind of silliness is something I have to try with my Dupe primes from the merge. AFTER I redo all my main builds that is.
The worst thing I ever did in Warframe was having 3 frost primes building and not realising in time to stop them. Was partly due to pain and druginduced brain fog but just not being clean in forge. Not the best day :( The kicker to all THAT was selling all 3 later when clearing inventory thinking I had one maxed already after a ton of exp grind.
I like how no one is addressing the $5 new “Starter Weapon Pack” as being a scam. Starter weapon??!!!! I’m MR20 and I don’t have Fakk All for the Aeolak *”S T A R T E R”* Generally DOESN’T MEAN NEAR META the greed on these people man.
I started playing warframe around 2015 and was a greedy kid, somehow made it to MR10. At the time i thought platinum was everything and so i tried using a platinum trainer to add some to my account. You can probably guess what happened next. Btw i did use some irl money so it was like x10 the burn, I haven't tried taking shortcuts since lol

It's ok, I put magpull over my rhino's iron charge. It's actually been great for me to setup finisher kills in a small crowd near me.
If you want true meme potential try placing well of life on Inaros, cast well, then cast big succ.
It takes over 10 minutes to kill an enemy this way, and waves won’t end because well of life targets are still hostile.
Also nobody can kill it except you.
Take her cowboy hat off then! The chaps too. She's no longer an outlaw.

I like this one XD, trying to change a warframe's identity can result in some interesting playstyles.
I think dumbest thing I did after I quit warframe was when melee update came out which was 4 years ago.

I sold my Xoris simply because I did not have a stance mod yet and I didn't like glaives at the time. I also sold Broken War to open up a weapon slot, I regret these decision everyday I play

I think the only stupid thing I ever did was spend $5 on the Lenz, because I didn't want to wait until all the required dojo research finished (it would've taken like 4 days).
But then I got bogged down with work and university and couldn't play the game for four days anyway, so it was a total waste lol
I wonder why watching Dual Ichor Incarnon feels better than playing it myself. Do ranks on Melee Influence make such a stark difference? (Mine is rank 2 or 3)

I am usually pretty careful with the dumb shit i do in the game, but i have placed a forma in a non polarised mod slot for no polarity before. Effectively just wasting a forma and about 30 mins of hydron levelling. I have done that twice btw haha
the most stupid thing i've done is sell (then) quest only weapons that you get once, and had to reach out to DE to get them back thankfully DE is really nice
