Hey Rick, Sorry I fan-girled and was so tongue-tied when I met you in Ackland a short while ago; you’re my only idol and didn’t know how to deal with meeting you in person after all this time hahaha… I just wanted to say thanks for being an inspiration to pursue music ever since I bought your first album in 1993. My dad died in 2010, and I was heavily depressed and suicidal. Your album “Tambourine Mountain” sorta saved my life and got me going on to keep living: 1) “Love Never Dies”: though it’s about your mum, I used it as a vessel to remember the things dad did for me to cry out my sadness 2) “You’re Never Alone”: I used the song to think about the things my dad say to me 3) “River Of Love” my soul food to fortify me. I appreciate you tolerating me, signing my albums/ poster and taking a picture with me. I’ll continue with my music aspirations and apologise if my covers of your works aren’t up to par. Forever your Fan, - Mark
Hey Rick. Please, please post your version of the song "The Door" Ever since I heard you perform it at the Melbourne concert hall back in the late 90s I've longed to hear it again. I remember the audience calling out for you to perform it. Then when you did I knew why. It hits hard in the feels. Just wonderful.
I can see why there is now only 19 comments, he doesn't read any of them...very disappointing Rick, given that most of us have been to see your shows several times...
Rick is like fine wine. One of the best male vocal I have ever heard.
Your voice in your classic ballads just gotten better and better. Aged like wine.

Somehow when I saw "original" I suspected that it would be maudlin and it is, so therefore I liken't it. Able performance, just I don't like maudlin.
