This manhua has been living rent free in my head for the last couple of weeks and I am so normal about it (INKR PLEASE I offer this as tribute, I'm begging on my knees please please update plea)
This is a comedy-centric manhua, and while some of the jokes don't land for me, it can be surprisingly earnest at times and it can always bring a smile to my face ;u;
I love Dao Mo and Li Mo's dynamic, they start out as relative strangers and Li Mo is constantly on-guard with this new brother of hers, but slowly she comes to accept him after he risked his life several times trying to protect her and that realization just makes my heart squeeze oohgh ;o;
Also, I love how they made Li Mo stand on relatively equal ground to her brother. Like, she's strong af physically, but when it comes to spirits, she doesn't have the means to dispose of them quickly like Dao Mo can. But still, it doesn't stop her from rushing to try and protect her brother too and that's everything to me💞💓❣️💘
They both won't hesitate to throw themselves in danger to protect the other and that's CATHARTIC to see! I am a sucker for stories that build mutual respect between their characters, to see that both characters will do anything to protect the other from danger and MY HEART SWELLS FROM THAT SORT OF STUFF AAGH!! ❣️💘
I love the art style too, every character looks so pretty (seriously their eyelashes are so gorgeous) and they're so fun to draw
As much as I love this manhua though, on first viewing I did get a little "combat-fatigued" from all the fight scenes that happen in this story. Maybe it's because I was itching for the plot to happen faster and I read way too many chapters in one sitting, but that's just how I felt.
Either way, this is a manhua I really enjoyed, and I wanted to make something for it, and so here we are! Also, practising hand drawing all the lights in Blender for this one. Blender was lagging so much tho, it crashed a couple of times 👀💦 But super happy with how it turned out
