+SLYSPYHIWAY90 On a warm sunny day as the sun goes down I love to drive on the gorgeous Oregon Coast and play the theme from Chinatown. It beings me into peaceful place.
0:27 am I the only one that starts to feel a little emotional and teary to this moment? When Evelyn finally reveals her sister/daughter and you know full well at this point in the movie what happened to her (incest, trauma, molestation, etc). You look at the last chance of innocence (Katherine) trying to survive, only for Evelyn to be gunned down and her daughter/sister to be taken away by the same monster. Man, this film is cruel yet beautifully made.
They way he watches through the blinds as they pull away with this music is one of the best little scenes in any movie ever. Much too subtle for today's tastes, unfortunately.
ONE OF THE BEST SOUNDTRACKS EVER!
+Michael Parks No argument here I've been playing it every day for a while now . I'm in awe of the musicianship being exhibited here . A real treat .

Uan Rasey (1921-2011) on trumpet.
Unbelievable. Just unbelievable 👏🏽 a classic film and a class soundtrack.
This version of the theme really evokes the 1930s.
Just watched the film and now I'm obsessed with the soundtrack. I love Jerry Goldsmith and I love YOU for uploading this =)
Glad I'm not alone.
Just stunning...
