I’m very much a beginner so forgive my stupid question but in the 5th round (I think it’s 5th not positive), you use a different size hook to do the 4 or 5 consecutive slip stitches. Do you use a smaller hook or larger hook? And what is the importance in using a different hook? Can I use the same hook?
A finer hook will be easier to insert into the already made stitches, plus the slipped stitches will be finer and be less visible in the completed project. Remember - the only stupid questions are the questions not asked.

I think they just switched hooks because it is easier to get in between the stitches with a smaller size.
A finer hook will be easier to insert into the already made stitches, plus the slipped stitches will be finer and be less visible in the completed project.
