For Sony Vegas I use WMV, and for After Effects I use AVI (the file sizes are quite large but I then put it into Vegas and it gets compressed when i render out the video)
You could just cut the video and add the effect the parts you want it at or you can add keyframes and set them to 0 when you don't want the effect showing.

Do your effects look different when you render the video out? Ik this is late but I have this problem where my video renders in 32bit colour depth (looks darker than it does in preview). It makes the levels on the glow look really dark. If you know how to fix this, you have just saved a lot of time and effort.

The plugin will highlight parts that are lighter, if the skybox you're using is dark then it won't highlight it. You might need to invert the clip so it sky can get highlighed and the rest is dark.
+Woop - CS:GO Highlights Maybe try changing your recording settings or maybe your Vegas project settings are different. I'm not really sure why that's happening.

Hey, whenever I add the Glow It Always just makes the whole clip brighter, rather than just the area I masked.
Make sure you're applying it to the clip with the mask

Do you use the 'startmovie' command ingame to record or do you use Fraps? Also what FPS do you record so the gameplay is very smooth.
I use Fraps, but I slow the game down to .25%, then speed it up in Vegas to make it so it's like 300FPS. But I record at 60FPS.

If you're talking about how to get the Masking tools, you need to check the box next to "mask" on the bottom left under Position.
You should put the finished product at the end of your videos :)
