I found a hack for preventing cat chaos without glue! "Museum putty" is amazing, even for miniatures it keeps a lot of things in place but is still removable! It isn't translucent though, so it only works for opaque objects. I've also used to it test out how something might look before gluing it down! Anyway, I'm a little below the skill level of this build but this motivates me to keep working at miniatures so I can recreate things i love. Thanks so much for all the details!
The book tells us Howl "Pendragon" Jenkins is actually a PhD student from our world, and the castle and his portal to Sophie's world (where magic exists) is his project. This room is STUNNING. STUNNING!! And it's absolutely what you would expect from an eclectic nerd working on his doctorate. Garbage and scum and dust everywhere, empty containers (probably from food), dead plants (because he's absent minded), his favorite plushies strewn about, glittery shiny things, his certificates stabbed into the wall with scissors. I always loved Howl's room, but the amount of detail was always intimidating for a model. My pointed hat's off to you, fellow adventurer!
😍 this is the best comment!!! Thank you!! I felt the same way. I was really intimidated by the amount of stuff but I’m so glad I could even finish it ❤️
Great job! Beautiful result! - I think showing the result of your long work for only 16 seconds is not enough. I would like to admire it longer. Give your work the attention it deserves. You really should be proud of it. 😼👍
I'm in love with that bed. Great editing, especially after attempting to watch another miniature build where they didn't understand no one wants to see every second of a bookshelf being painted, even sped up. Finally, I love seeing a women of color doing a nerd video. ❤ Subbed.
It’s funny, I was actually watching “Spirited Away” the other day and every single scene I was like “I wanna make a diorama of that. And that. And ALL OF THAT” lol. I love how the scenery in Ghibli movies is basically a character in its own right. ^_^
What the fuck. I am infinitely jealous of your talent! You're so good at things! STOP BEING GOOD AT THINGS!? Also, props for supporting physical media. You've earned a sub.
I LOVE IT!!! I LOVE Howl's Moving Castle, its one of my FAVORITE Ghibli's movies. It looks great Howl's room. I love the details, the books and nic naks, and the dart board! Really great job on this diorama! I also still buy DVDs because I like to physically own movies myself.
Yeah… that’s was my fault!🤦🏽♀️ I uploaded the wrong version of it then I had to private that one and re upload it. Thanks for continuing to watch it though!!!! 😍
I really love your fantasy builds, but I have to say it hurts to see you use Legos like that! Those are useful! Also, you've said you like reading, I would recommend the book. Howl's Moving Castle was one of my favorite books as a kid. The plot is quite different than the movie (there is no war, for one), and I feel that the book is much better. Diana Wynne Jones was an amazing author, and her books are all quite good.
This is so cool to see in a miniature, especially since I love this movie a lot and Howl is such a comfort character. I agree that fabric glue would be best to use, but getting/using a silicone thimble may also be good to avoid burning your fingers while working with hot glue. It would shield your skin from the heat and you can therefore touch and manipulate it more efficiently (and the glue won't stick to the silicone I believe)
What a cool build! I missed this video somehow. I only watch dvd’s too. No cable, no Netflix, etc etc. I haven’t seen this movie but I’m intrigued now. Love the details! Thanks!
This is incredible! As a detailed person myself, I appreciate all that you put into this diorama. Well done!!! You have inspired me! thanks for sharing!
Nice job! I found you via the link on Studson Studio's channel. I enjoy seeing stuff like this crafted from nothing but I'm also a huge Ghibli fan so when the subject is Ghibli it just adds to the enjoyment.
I’ve never seen the movie, but I’ve read the book. That was at least a couple of decades ago, though, so I don’t remember the little details. That looked like it was a lot of fun to make. Great job.
Hey! I love these!! I watch antique restoration too and there’s a wood stain you may want to try. You make it by adding a metal kitchen scrubber to white vinegar and letting it sit for a month in a dark place. It’s a beautiful dark color and stains the wood beautifully.
Found you through Mechanical Fiends shoutout. Holy shit this is amazing! I'm currently working on Sophies Hatshop and I'm even more inspired to finish it!
I have dreamed of seeing this room in miniature for ever! Thank you so much for making it come true. It's absolutely wonderful. I'm blown away by your attention to details.
I've seen the Movie but can't recall anything so I will rewatch it soon. Thank you. Apart from that it is an amazing build and have a great narrative way about you.
Right on, Miss M! Thanks for re-introducing me to studio G - Porco Rosso!! & wow, what a busy build! & the squid give me inspiration for...Octopus October🐙😃👍

I just have this image of future you finding a plain bed frame and DYIing it into this one. Out of all the amazing details here, it's oddly one of the simplest I like the best. I never would have thought to leave the panels in the door empty and just paint the wall behind them the right color. Such a simple but brilliant idea.
OMG, this is amazing! So much detail in there I could stare at it all day. Really need to re-watch all my Ghibli films, my boyfriend bought me the box set a few years ago and I love them so much!
Howl's bedroom has been on my list of projects for years now, I am so happy to see you do such a wonderful version of it! Honestly really inspires me to want to do that project sometime soon, this seriously turned out so amazing! Ahhh all the little details! I love that you left the roof open so you could peer down in from above as well, absolutely beautiful~

Thanks for this wonderful job, Howl's Moving Castle is one of my favorite anime along with Ponyo on the Cliff. You have achieved a great result working with poor materials by proving that the skill of an artist is not due to the equipment he possesses. You are very smart!
