Thank you so much for sharing! So much of your story sounds like mine. I didn’t have the same complications as you, but you’re one of the first people that I’ve listened to that has talked about still having complications six weeks out. Makes me feel a lot better.
Thansk you for this i had mine and your video is the first one that discussed complications. I had a hematoma on my left breast after surgery and was rushed into an emergency surgery lesss the 48hours later and i had delayed healing splits in my areaola and my t junction anchor on that breast
Your videos have really helped me to feel a bit better, I had a seroma in my left breast and when it was healed my under breast incision started to separate and now I have my insicions infected, I’m just hoping for the best and that my wounds start to heal, I’m just really afraid that the separation starts to get bigger and bigger
Thank you sharing your story .. so sorry to hear what you’ve been through. I’m currently recovering post op day 5 (so far so good) I had the lollipop incision.
I had my surgery April 10, 2019 and 2 weeks later infection from old moist steri strips that should have came off from showering or taken off at doctor's office, should have had antibiotics at time of discharge, needed wound care clinic care to possibly treat area better. May 17, 2019 I've got to have a skin graft from upper thigh to get skin to cover breast. I've went through a lot of pain and suffering. I don't know about doing this all over again.
Hi Katie, I am 20 and i am thinking of getting breast reduction surgery soon. I am so glad you have decided to record and upload videos about what happened to you... I have watched loads of videos and all of them were saying the operation went great, there were no complications whatsoever and the recovery took uncredible short time, but i am a realistic person and i knew that they can't all just go smoothly... I like to be aware what the dangers are and now I am sure I want the operation and I will go through it! Kisses xx
I'm So Sorry To Hear You Had This Experience I Did My Surgery A Week Ago Had My Drains Removed After 3 Days & No Pain At All . Just A Little Discomfort W/ Tender & Soreness But Nothing I Have To Take My Pain Meds For, Was Up & Running Errands 2 Days Post Op. Guess We All Heel Differently 😕
I had a rough recovery too...my surgeon says the larger the reduction the harder the recovery. I had a wound dehiscence. I cried for weeks, I regretted having the surgery because going from spilling out of a 42H to a 40C...felt like I had had a mastectomy! I also have a huge dog ear on my right side just like you...I can have that fixed as soon as I get the money. Now a year later I feel better, freer, and my constant shoulder pain is mostly gone. This was my ninth surgery, and by far the worst recovery...I expected it to be much easier, lol. Your story was very similar to mine, except my son was 18...I don’t know how you went through this with babies! Kudos to you!
I am also allergic to pain medicine except OTC. I found out in the process of getting insurance to cover this I have degeneration of discs already and I'm not even 40. I also have cervical spine issues. I'm ready but thank you for sharing because no other videos I've seen had issues.
it is crazy everything you went through just happened to me had my surgery 01/30. Had multiple infections and tube put in had an allergic reaction to antibiotics. what ended having Johnson's Disease had to go to the er all over my body blisters my eyes were swollen had horrible thrash just fully recovering as of 4/7/2017. I wish I would've seen this when my doctor kept telling me nothing was wrong with me. so glad u are doing well and that u put out this video. have a blessed day
omg thank you for posting this and talking about it! it seems like most people have 'discomfort' or something, but i had hardcore pain for 6 weeks, still not great starting on 7th. When you said, 'going on and on and on' thank you, i don't feel like i'm the only one.
Thank you Katie for sharing your story. I've been approved for my surgery and am on a waiting list now. I'm at a higher risk of complications (40% higher) because I've had radiation to the right breast for breast cancer treatment. I keep going back and forth on whether or not to have it. Your story helped prepare me mentally for what to expect. Very much appreciated❤️
I had issues as well with mine. Had surgery March 24. Ended up having two more in April and June of last year. Resulted in 27 days all together in hospital off and on. Physical therapy and now will have a final scar revision surgery this coming June 2017. Like you, I never saw anyone with complications.also knew multiple woman who had it and encouraged me. I ended up losing my nipples and having one side flatter and smaller than the other. It has definitely caused me some mental pain as well. I like having smaller breast now, but wouldn't do it again. Glad you are healed and can't wait till I'm able to say the same thing.
I am so sorry to hear that hun! How are things going? I am thinking of getting my breast reduced and i want to know about complications too because everyone glorifies breast reductinons! xx
I had my consult Monday and my doc said that I had to be done nursing for appx 6 mos just to be certain that my breasts had settled after nursing and to make sure that there was no milk anywhere in there. Were you nursing at the time of surgery?
I would absolutely still have the surgery, however I would wait for a month or two. I do believe that part of my issues were that I had been breastfeeding prior to the surgery and did not wait long enough for the milk to leave my system. I think I'd have had better results if I gave it an extra couple of weeks. But if I had to do it exactly the same, I still would. I came through it, and my life has improved. :)
1) Says she had a lot of trouble healing and places kept opening up 2) Admits that she did not follow doctor instructions for amount of time to not wear underwires and started wearing them too soon. 3)Doesn't think this is why she had trouble healing. Um... how do you not see that underwires touching incisions and rubbing them with hard, inflexible edges, would pull the skin and keep it from healing, and make it open up again??? Even if the wires somehow weren't touching your incisions, just having that tension of the wire against your chest skin would pull at your delicate, unhealed incisions. Even if wearing the wires didn't cause your slow healing, it certainly didn't help.
Thanks for sharing your journey and I'm sorry for all the complications you endured. There haven't been much reviews detailing issues with BR that I've seen, and I must admit, I became a lil obsessed witj youtube, looking for videos of others that have had this procedure. Pretty much most I saw were positive reviews whuch was encouraging. I'm almost 3months post op & healing well. Sooo glad I didn't get drains as that seemed to be the cause of pain for the ladies who did admit to being in pain & distress. I pray that you are or wil be totally recovered soon so u can really enjoy and appreciate your smaller boobies (-: God Bless you chiquita

you didn't explain why you had 9 surgeries whether it was from the reduction.
Do you still regret you went to C? Or you wouldve wanted to be bigger?

***I'm from Utah also and needing to get this surgery-- do you have any recommendations (or where to steer clear)?????
did you go overseas for BR Katie?where did you go?
