Alexi is the singer. He passed away some days after filming this video. He formed this band after Children of Bodom ended their career. They only managed to record one EP with the new band. So, if you like this, you need to get into Children of Bodom, maybe the song Morrigan.
Definitely check out Children of Bodom. I would say check out Downfall or Bodom Beach Terror as opposed to Morrigan. Morrigan is good, but you need to hear Bodom during their prime. Hatebreeder/Follow th Reaper/Hatecrew Deathroll era.
My favourite songs from C.O.B: Follow The Reaper, Kissing The Shadows, Downfall, Morrigan.... There are so many. Btw, Alexi was ranked multiple times as the best metal guitarist in the world. I'm not the biggest fan on this particular song.

Unfortunately, he drank a lot and died of alcoholism at 41, after putting out ten albums and a final EP featuring this song. He was dead within ten days of filming the video you were watching. 😥

He and the other guitarist, Daniel Freyberg, were previously in the melodic death metal band, Children of Bodom. Alexi was to Finnish guitar players as Eddie Van Halen was to American guitar players. They were only able to release a 3 song ep.
What hit me the most when it happened was the fact that he started COB at the age of 14 (as Inearthed) and died at the age of 41. I started guessing for a week that maybe he was committed to the reaper even more than we thought. Rest in peace WildChild.

Oh my, you don't know how happy I was when I noticed this :D When I was teenager, I loved band called Children of Bodom (it is the band of which Alexi Laiho is best known), so Alexi and all of his music products have a place in my heart. Alexi is perhaps a person that almost every Finn knows. He is one of the best guitarists in this country and is so sad that he left so early. Alexi was also involved in a party / cover band, called The Local Band, where all the members were from Finnish rock bands.
Or The Nail from Something Wild album. Production perhaps is not the best but you can clearly see the amazing talent. Alexi was still so young when he wrote that stuff. Only 16 or 17 years old. He was a genious. It's a heartbreaking tragedy, he had to die.

I recommend reacting to COB! Alexi was very young when the band popped to the top of the charts. It is also one of the most internationally successful Finnish metal bands. If you’re interested, I’ll weave the songs “Downfall,” “Needled 24/7,” “Follow the Reaper,” “Bodom beach Terror,” and many, many more. Sadly Alexi passed away in December 2020, R.I.P. Alexi😪.

The band once included a keyboard player who could play the same kind of lightning fast riffs as the band's guitarist, but he left the band when they were known as Children of Bodom (actually basically it was different band). This band and this song are one of the best things ever happened in the world of the Metal Music so it is kind of big deal for many people! Alexi (singer / guitarist) died for health reasons, and his bad lifestyle certainly didn't help it at all. His bandmates were trying to get him to change his lifestyle for the better, but unsuccessfully. Then it was too late :'(. Fun fact: This latest EP represented the same style as the 'Children of Bodom' earliest production, so that many of the longest-standing fans have said that this last EP is the best they've heard. A lot of people have said that Alexi knew how to leave this world in a hell of a style. I totally agree. By the way if you like metal music because you are waiting for some heavy drops then why don't you check out metal genres like Metalcore. Whole music style is based on drops and breakdowns and super low guitar and singing tones. If you have no idea which bands to check out I can give you one of those awesome bands. It's 'Atlas' and you could check songs like 'Ukko', 'Taivaanranta' or 'Uni'. I bet there are bands who put those drops for even heavier use, but this band is very high quality... so. If you want to hear some clean melodic singing as well as growling then you should go for that 'Uni' song. I Assume you are allready familiar with Nu Metal.
fun fact: in the early 2000's in one interview they asked Alexi his opinion about Metallica and he basically said: "they suck". But i think that was probably some kind of rebel (ism...??) back in the day when Death Metal was underground :D

Definitely have a look at Children of Bodom's older work(they've got like 10 studio albums!) if you liked this. I have to admit I hadn't looked at your last couple videos, not being familiar with the bands, but Nina clearly has some good taste in music, so I may have to revisit those...
