The 30 Days Rule concerns me, if I loose or damage that external hard drive, I assume i needs to buy a new one ASAP and download the data from Backblaze ,,,is this true. Also, can you say a little for more than 30 days, Any idea how much more is a little??? I am Definitely interested in using this Service, thanks for the video

As of October 2023, Backblaze has changed their data retention policy so now you get one year, rather than just 30 days, at no additional cost. So in this case, if you had everything configured properly you would have up to one year to replace the failed hard drive and restore all the files from your online backup.

What happens if a external hard drive becomes full and I decide to switch to another for my day-to-day? E.g. I'm not plugging it in every 30-days. Can I still maintain storage of those important files on BackBlaze?

I believe that the copy of your files from the old drive would be discarded after 30 days* but in their place, a copy of all the files on the new drive would be backed up.

careful recommending this. I have attached a 12TB Sandisk gdrive and it only backed up once a few gigabytes, now it only backs up the computer but it doesn't backup the drive even though it says that I am all backed up. It literally shows that it's all good. But when I login to the website I can clearly see that my drive has not been backed up even once this month. It also excludes libraries and this can not be changed, if thats true then basically not a single Lightroom file will be backed up. Whenever something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. I am bit bummed out that I just paid the entire year upfront including add on services.

With all respect, I think that there is a mistake in the way that you have your Backblaze backup configured. I currently have the essential parts of my Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic Catalog plus six Terabytes of images spread across multiple hard drives in my Backblaze backup. If I may suggest, double check your settings please so that you get the data protection that you paid for out of this service.
